I agree, pretty pathetic fight overall. Joe was pimping O'Brien but he looked clueless on the ground, he had so many sub opportunities.

Heath looks like crap, but O'Brien doesn't look much better, he hasn't done anything.

I don't know why Rogan is shitting on his escapes so much. He's always done that and been fairly successful at escaping the mount and then escaping the rear naked and establishing position on top, however instead of doing that O'Brien is just reestablishing his mount position. Maybe the change of gyms has something to do with it.

I get in moods to watch certain styles. I don't even compare WWF to Japan or even AJPW to NJPW because the styles are so different from promotion to promotion. Besides, WWF material is the most readily available to make a comp with.

Well, his record doesn't look near as impressive now as it did a year or two ago. Bonnar hasn't proven to be as good as everyone thought he would be, McDonald is just a kickboxer, Franklin proved to be a better fit at a different weight, and he outweighed Penn by 20 pounds or more. Also, how can you NOT pull out a good fight against Vernon White? He comes ready to go every fight.

Some of the fighters show promise, but for the most part they all use the same basic "amateur" formula: adequate stand-up, decent takedowns wrestling, and a ground game that heavily favors G N' P over subs.

Machida is so horribly boring that he threatens to suck the entire ring into the black hole of boredom that he creates during his matches. Basically, he's one of my least favorite fighters. The win over McDonald shouldn't be a credit, McDonald got all of his fame from kickboxing, he's no MMA fighter.

I'd really try to fit "Price You Pay" on there somewhere, possibly by booting "You Can Look..." even though I like that song live.

I like listening to the Replacements "Here Comes a Regular" on cold, overcast days, with maybe a flurry of snow or two in the air.

It's really difficult for me to pick a favorite out of the first six albums, but IV is probably the most consistent the whole way through.
