Make an outlandish statement

Rivera got caught and didn't defend himself. Solid fight on Leben's part but hardly impressive. Luigi he was content to run the clock on, ditto for Cote. Dewees? Nigga please. Statement: Leben would get decimated against Tanner, Loiseau, Franklin, Marquadt or Silva. Like, first round death. Ok, Marquadt would take him to a decison. Marquadt finishing a fight in some kind of good fashion is an outlandish statement I'm not prepared to make. I don't see how you can base a guy's finishing skills off of one poor fight, this is of course assuming you've never seen his Pancrase work. -

I forgot about that fight. Still, neither one's resume is extremely impressive. -
I like that guy's face in the background

I don't see how you can say that when Leben has beaten nobody near the level of Nick Diaz, Sanchez's biggest win. Leben has been more active but hasn't really shown me anything in those fights though. -

He armbarred Takayama. Yeah, I know, big accomplishment. -

I don't get the fight network but SuperLeague is pretty awesome what very little I've seen of it. A bunch of MAX fighters got their start there. Gimme a while and I'll have some MAX HL's up for you bastards -

Coleman's out of the GP due to injury. Maybe they'll surprise us and give us Randleman and Silva, which would go one of two ways: be a repeat of Arona/Silva 1(ugh) or maybe Randleman would be just crazy enough to stand with Silva which would be fairly entertaining since both are "swing for the fences" types of guys. -

Mirko landed a higher percentage of shots; sure Hunt was coming forward the whole time but he missed with most of his attacks. Cro Cop shouldn't be punished by the judges just because Hunt has a head made of cement. And give it up on Sapp, he just sucks period. The only K-1 fights he won he did so by cheating. Shall I name the various methods of cheating? Grabbing the head while punching, legal in MMA, ILLEGAL in K-1; hitting a downed opponent; punching the back of an opponent's head; getting numerous "doctor stops," allowing him to recuperate; getting generous downs granted to him; being completely favored by the refs because he was Ishii's meal ticket in '02 before Cro Cop made him cry, etc. He may be a pretty nice person and an entertaining figure, but as a fighter he sucks. Part of the reason is, he has no mobility, maybe if he lost a hundred pounds he could actually throw a proper kick or punch. As for MMA, he got thrown around the ring like a rag doll by Fujita, and everytime he fights he supposedly has some new stupid technique or the ability to breathe for more than 1 minute 30 without gassing. Fedor would waste him in standup and woe to Sapp if he got on the ground somehow because then the violence would really start. Fedor would use his ground striking more to his advantage than Nog did to open up a sub (probably because Nog was bordering on brain damage from the head drops). If he fought Cro Cop, Mirko would already have the psychological edge from having broken his face in K-1, and you can forget Sapp taking anyone down as he doesn't even have the coordination or mobility to get a single leg, let alone any other type of take down. -

Here's a few more that may not be that outlandish: Cro Cop should have gotten the decision over Hunt. Gary Goodridge vs. Naoya Ogawa was a work. -

Hunt vs. TK is ON for the OWGP 1st Round. I wouldn't be surprised if TK tries to stand with Hunt and gets blasted into next year's GP. -
I think they've got about 10 or 11 eps total this seasons and then a "bonus" 7 eps to be shown next year, as they were going to be a movie, but Chase decided to just make a mini-season 7 out of them instead.

Is Andrei Arlovski simply not a very good fighter?
AboveAverage484 replied to Your Paragon of Virtue's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
He could do it the same way Andrei did, knockdown leading to a sub. -

Why is that? I knew Pao de Pano was good, but I thought Werdum was the best in the world at HW BJJ. -

Well, I'm giving Mir the benefit of the doubt for having just come back from a long injury. Coleman probably doesn't deserve to be on there either. Cruz would probably get wasted by any of the top nine, except maybe Werdum who would probably out grapple him. -

I don't think that's too far fetched. Kawajiri is the only top fighter he's submitted and that was because Crusher was on dream street by the time he locked the choke in. Here's another statement: Joachim Hansen is slightly overrated. -

Here's my top ten: 1. Fedor 2. Nogueira 3. Cro Cop 4. Sylvia 5. Arlovski 6. Barnett (may be too high) 7. Kharitonov (I think even after the loss to Overeem he deserves to be here) 8. Hunt (he beat Cro Cop [i think Mirko should have won] and nobody else) 9. Werdum 10. Fujita/Mir/Overeem/Monson/Coleman -

"There Is a Light That Never Goes Out" is Morrissey's best written song, IMO. And I can name about 20 Springsteen songs that should have been on there in place of BITUSA. -

Scary thought: Pedro Rizzo has wins over two top 5 guys (Ricco Rodriguez and Andrei Arlovski) Wait, Ricco's still top 5? -
I have no complaints with Rudo's list. And I agree with the 1. Fedor, 2. Nogueira, 3. A bunch of other guys sentiment.

I think it's unfair to label him as "ungood." He has beaten decent fighters and the ones he lost to weren't cupcakes either. Throw in the fact that he is still fairly young and he could be on top in another two or three years if he doesn't break down before then. -
Franklin vs. Silva would be a great stand-up fight. Silva is technically a better striker, but Franklin has other intangibles that would make this a really hard match to predict.
