I watched Hardcore Homecoming this weekend, and I do believe that it sucked balls. I hate to be so negative, but I think this was the definition of "quick buck." The "wrestling" was bad, the "brawling" was even worse, and the whole show seemed even more cheap and garbagey than the original ECW. I've seen better wrestling here at the local gymnasium and better brawls in a school bathroom. I was so afraid Scorpio was gonna die trying the 450 splash. Funk almost died falling through that shitty ladder. You'd think if they were gonna have a 60 year old man climb a ladder they'd at least be able to find one that wasn't duck taped together. Go to fucking Home Depot and shell out 40 bucks. I would feel different if I was actually there, because that is where this program comes off as special or meaningful, but watching it on DVD just seemed like 2 hours of my life I'll never get back. The extras were even worse. Lynn/Juvi was almost passable, but Douglas and Funk from XPW was the biggest bunch of horseshit I've ever seen. In their obsession with having everything be "hardcore" Funk gouges his arm trying to bust a bottle and turns a train wreck match into something even worse. And there are people out there who actually enjoy XPW and this kind of shit? Sure it was nostalgic at times and the "hardcore legends" tribute was pretty cool but this was a shell of ECW. Leave it in its grave and let it rest in peace. Gotta love Smothers' dancing though

I'm planning on getting one of those 2 for 1 DVD/VCR deals in the future. I still have some matches on my "want" list if there is anybody that wants to trade. Just drop me a line. Mainly WWF/WCW stuff pre-2000. Also, anyone with an abundance of Japanese matches, such as Misawa/Kawada (6/3/94) or Benoit/Sasuke, etc.

I didn't really notice the ECW chants haven been taken out. I actually thought I heard them chanting it. That split screen shit got on my nerves especially when they were essentially showing the same thing on each screen!

If they ended the brand split I might start watching again. Maybe then they'll be motivated to do something creative and/or new. And TNA isn't any better than WWE. They just throw a few guys out there to attempt to kill themselves and hire a few good indy workers to get the smarks on their side. The wrestling is just as shitty with a few exceptions, it's just different faces and factions so people flock to it. Then when people get tired of them, they'll turn away from them just like they did WWE.

Did you even SEE Genesis? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, come in, look strong, lose to Jeff Jarrett. Same shit, different pile. I like Christian as much as the next guy but I can't picture him as a successful main eventer. He's a good, if unspectacular worker and his mic work has always been good but gets stale after a while. Of course coming in and bashing the WWE in your first interview will gain you fans but what about after? Count me among the skeptics, though I hope for the best for Christian, because he's probably never coming back to the E. Never say never, now though.

Why the hell should anyone care if Christian comes on? It's not like they're gonna push him as anything special.
