So someone threatened to kill me today...
AboveAverage484 replied to AboveAverage484's topic in No Holds Barred
Well, I'm not too worried about it anymore. I was pretty pissed last night, as you can tell by the rambling nature of my posts. Basically I'm gonna forget about it unless that guy has something to say about it. Whatever. -

Irony. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He can threaten me, but do you really think he's actually gonna do it? I'm still pretty confused, hopefully some shit will get cleared up tomorrow or Saturday. -

Well, I figure he doesn't have the sack to bring a gun to a fight, so fuck him. And if he shows up at my work I'll call the cops and say some guy is up here threatening to kill me. If it comes down to fisticuffs, oh well, he's making a mistake, because I'm "stupid and I don't give a fuck". Sorry had to channel some Joe Pesci. I need a drink. -
You're my boy and all, but...

So he's passed out and duck taped to his back? That's not very good. -

It is Hirotaka Yokoi. -
I always thought that was a pretty cool story. It ties Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander, Zartan, Firefly, Stalker, Destro, and the Baroness (another story) all together in this crazy ass web. That's character building that the cartoon could never even think of achieving.

Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow met in 'Nam, where they were in the same LRRP (Long Range Recon Patrol) squad, along with Stalker. They got hit pretty bad in the jungle, a couple guys got killed and a chopper came in to pick up the survivors. Snake Eyes got hit on the way to the chopper and Stormy ran back through a hail of gunfire to get him. After Snake Eyes returned home, Hawk informed him that his family had been killed by a drunk driver on the way to meet him at the airport. (The drunk driver was Cobra Commander's brother, and this was the catalyst for CC forming Cobra. CC somehow eventually came to blame Snakes for his bro's death.). Snake Eyes was all "fuck this" so he went to Japan to train to be a ninja with Storm Shadow. He got pretty good as you can imagine, with the help of Stormy's uncles, the Hard Master and the Soft Master. CC hired Firefly and Zartan to go to Japan to kill Snakes, when they got there Snakes was having a private training session with the Hard Master, and Zartan was outside with an ultrasonic bow. He shot and mistakenly killed the Hard Master, and then escaped in a helicopter piloted by Firefly. Stormy was thought by the Clan to be the killer, so he infiltrated Cobra to find the identity of the real killer. He eventually did and came around to join the Joe team after being killed and brought back to life, among other adventures. Unfortunately, CC started getting the nucleus of his old organization back, and captured and brainwashed Stormy, as well as the reformed Zartan, and the retired Destro and Baroness. I think he's still under the mind control of CC as of this writing. Hope that cleared some stuff up for you.

I anticipate seeing Shaolin in Bushido before the year is out. -
I never saw the reason why teams ranked in the top 5 who lost to the number 1 or 2 team dropped 5 spots or more in the rankings. I mean Ohio State lost a close game to Texas, I see no reason for them to drop at all, especially behind Georgia Tech who lost a "closer than it should have been" game against UNC.

On a more positive note, the death toll doesn't seem to be as high as initially estimated and the pumps seem to be pumping the water faster than expected.

Unfortunately most of us probably haven't seen it. I'm actually gonna have to go with Kid, even though I don't like too terribly much.

Batista wishes he was half the big man Vader was.

I guess if you had to classify me, I'd be a conservative. But if John Kerry were elected, I probably wouldn't care too much; all the candidates have their strong points and weaknesses so whoever is elected is who I'll serve, unless they happen to be a total and complete wack-job, but I don't see the American people becoming that stupid with their voting. *Waits for someone to call Bush a wack-job*

You make a pretty good point in your first paragraph, but the 9/11 attacks *were* attacks on everyone's freedom. A hurricane doesn't discriminate, it just fucks up anything and everything in it's path, regardless of race, creed, or religion. West is trying to make this into some conspiracy theory, which is preposterous. He should have just kept his fucking mouth shut and stuck with what he does best, make music, not try to be some self proclaimed spokesperson for his race. Harry Connick Jr. talked about his city rising above it and someday coming back, portraying hope and optimism, instead of stirring up some unecessary shit storm and trying to turn races against each other. West spoke at something that was supposed to be about raising funds and helping those in need, not furthering his fucked up political agenda by masking it with some claim to African American solidarity. I give credit where credit is due though, I still respect him for at least donating considerable amounts of money for relief efforts. Just wish he would have done it a little quieter is all.

That first and Doctor Who supporting roles second. I've never seen him as Hitler though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You've never seen the "Last Crusade"? -
I think age is starting to catch up with Murilo. At his age you've gotta stay pretty active (e.g. Hoost, Couture), otherwise your body is gonna play catchup like his is doing after being out for almost two years. I'm sure he was still training, but he needed to be fighting as well. As for the tourneys, fuck this is the best card ever, bar none. Quick predictions: Kawajiri over Gomi, Azeredo over Kotani, Mach over Pulver, Hansen over Edwards. Kawajiri over Azeredo, Hansen over Mach. Kawajiri over Hansen. Minowa over Baroni, Bustamante over Suda, Chonan over Hendo (very close decision, might change) Gono over Acacio Minowa over Baroni Gono over Chonan Gono over Minowa. Yeah, I'm picking a dark horse. If Hendo fights Gono, it would be a different story, as I believe Hendo could beat Gono, and possibly win the tourney.

FUCK THIS indeed. I don't give a shit if the war in Iraq is "about oil" or not, at this point I'm like fuck it, let's take it all

Whew, got very lucky. I'm in Asheville, NC, and I filled up for 2.59 on Tuesday morning, a day before all hell broke loose. The ones that are open now are like 3.15 at least.

I'd probably move Liddell up to number one. Silva drops to two, Shogun goes to three, Arona only goes to four because Silva is the first legit MW contender he's beaten in like three years; he didn't look very impressive even in victory against Silva. Couture is safely at number five. I guess I'll have Rogerio at number six because even though he lost earlier in the tourney than Overeem, he still dominated him earlier this year. Overeem is at seven, Babalu at eight, and Rampage at nine. Ten is nobody in particular, but just for the hell of it, I'll put Ortiz there. As for Final Conflict, Tank did better than anyone expected him to. I stand by my statement that Yoshida is the most boring fighter in Pride, his ground game is so methodical it could be a cure for insomnia. Overeem looked impressive in the first couple minutes until he gassed. Hummers probably get better gas mileage than Alistair. I thought it was over when he had Shogun in the guillotine, but he pulled out and went on to dominate the rest of the fight. Silva and Arona was the most dissapointing fight of the year. The standup was sparse and inaccurate, and Arona only got Silva down because of a couple stumbles. Arona's GNP was pretty poor, and for those bashing Silva for not trying anything against Arona, sit and think about it. He's a fucking BJJ black belt, you think he's gonna fall for a triangle or an armbar? I wanted Shogun to pound him, especially after Arona acted like such a bitch to Wanderlei after the fight. It's not like he pulled a Fedor/Goodridge beating or anything. I take back all the bad things I've said about Shogun in the past. Still don't think he's better than Wandy, but if Silva would have come out against Arona the way Shogun did, we might have had an all Chute Boxe final. Shogun needs to quit the kung fu shit though, it might get him in trouble. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Rampage would beat Shogun if they fought again, but maybe I'm just trying to instigate RRR . If Shogun does lose, it will probably be against a Randy Couture like fighter, a smart fighter who doesn't let himself get in trouble very often. Fedor vs. Cro Cop was great for the 1½ rounds, then it became pretty anti-climactic. Fedor is the best fighter in the world period, and I see NO ONE in the near future who could contend with him. Who the hell is he gonna fight when he comes back for NYE? Barnett maybe, but I'm pretty confident Fedor could outstrike him as well as stifle his takedowns. Kharitonov is probably the best bet, but Hunt would be an interesting match up as well. Other thoughts: Igor needs to retire or suddenly become a ground wizard and Werdum isn't as great as everyone says.

Was it on Lifetime? If it was, take your pick between about fifty others. Sorry I couldn't contribute positively to this

There really isn't shit out in the theaters now. What comes out this Friday? -
Shit, "Dookie" is their best album. It was funny and honest and had catchy, inoffensive (well, musically anyway) tunes throughout the CD. There are really no bad cuts on the whole thing, and it doesn't matter anyway because they blitz through the whole CD in like 35 minutes. Every kid in high school can relate to bitchy girlfriends, being bored and horny, wanting to blow shit up, get in fights, and get burned out and wander the streets.
