The Top 50 NBA Players of My Generation

I love Reggie, he was a great player and pretty classy, but I think the reason he gets so much praise is because he stayed with the same team for so long. He was also really streaky towards the end of his career, scoring 20 points one game and the next mayb 7 or 8.

I guess the best way to factor this in would be to include Finals MVP into the equation.

The Top 50 NBA Players of My Generation

I'm now done with this thread. I don't know how many times I have to put down that Pippen only has those rings because of Jordan. Comparing Kobe to Pippen must be a joke. Really. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ha Ha, I win, just kidding.

The Top 50 NBA Players of My Generation

What confuses me is he says championships are important and then trashes my ranking of Scottie Pippen, who has six rings to his credit. I guess we should disregard Kobe's rings too since he wouldn't have won shit without Shaq. While we're at it, who gets credit for Detroit last year? Billups won the Finals MVP, but you could also say Hamilton, Ben or Rasheed are all equally deserving of being the most important player. One can't say Maravich wasn't a good player either, he was just surrounded by garbage for the majority of his career.

The fighting game character tournament 2k5

I don't think you need to second any votes. I'd give Ibuki one, though. Cute kunoichis = My nominations: Earthworm Jim (just about the only reason anyone would play Clayfighter 64. And since it's for the character, not the game, he squeezes by on a technicality) Geese Howard - Might be an obvious choice, but sometimes bosses are forgotten. Awesome character design, very menacing presence, awesome moves (and often cheap as hell), and one of the greatest stage themes in a fighting game ever. Lord Raptor/Zabel - if Darkstalkers had sucked, it's character designs would still be worth mentioning. First time I played the arcade game, I was drawn to this crazy-looking mofo. A heavy-metal shredding zombie mofo who can stab you with his own ribs, kick your ass and dance on your body, turn his limbs into chainsaw blades, and roll you up into a ball and slam dunk you. (Plus he's representing the Aussies, UYI.) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Man, I forgot Earthworm Jim was in that game! That was a game that kinda sucked, but it was still decent enough as a time waster. I don't play many fighting games so no nominations

The Top 50 NBA Players of My Generation

I knew I'd get shit for having Penny on the list, but for about four years Penny was pretty fuckin' good, and his first seven years he was pretty damn good. His all-around game is(was) sound and he made four all-star games and got all-NBA three times, twice being elected first team.

The Top 50 NBA Players of My Generation

Bill Simmons from espn.com put it this way Al: Would you rather have Karl Malone's career or Robert Horry's? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you want the honest to God truth; Malone's. Hell, he he made millions more than Horry has made. Malone made about 106 million, while Horry made 44 million. Still nothing to cry about, but that's less than twice what Malone made.

The Top 50 NBA Players of My Generation

If winning something means so much, why do you shit all over Pippen? Duncan sure as hell wouldn't have won a title without Robinson in '99. What I considered as far as rankings: Career points Career rebounds Career assists MVP awards NBA 50th Anniversary Team All-NBA Teams All-Star games All-NBA 1st team in defense Career scoring average When I ranked them by "peak value" I condensed those factors into only the players peak years. Malone's peak was more than a decade, as he was still performing at a top level well into his career, where most players would have tapered off by then. Duncan's peak has been 8 years now, a little less than half of what Malone's peak was, but it still shows you how great Duncan is because he is only two spots behind Malone with that said. Being the number 5 player in the past thirty years is not something to complain about, especially when the four above you are MJ, Shaq, Malone, and Barkley. Do I sound nerdy yet?

The Top 50 NBA Players of My Generation

Malone was so productive for so long he has to be at #3. He was a force for 14 straight years in the NBA, that has to count for something.

By 1984, I mean '83-'84, so Sampson is in.

The Top 50 NBA Players of My Generation

This is a career ranking, I'm going to post my "peak" rankings later. Chambers started in '83, so he misses it by one year. Steve Smith was a pretty decent scorer but I don't think he was top 50 material. Willis makes it on their for longevity, if nothing else.

Nah, you're just bad at ranking people. Quit being defensive. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, God forbid I defend my own list with facts and figures. And who said I was being defensive?

The Top 50 NBA Players of My Generation

I guess the fact that Pippen scored 18,940 points, had 6,135 assists, was named one of the 50 greatest players of all time, made All-NBA seven times, was selected for seven all-star games, and made all-defensive first team eight times in a row seems to slip people's minds. It's also very possible that Garnett and AI would end up ranked higher after their careers are over.

The Top 50 NBA Players of My Generation

Yeah, but he was also five time All-NBA and a seven time all-star, that should count for something and it's more than just about anybody below him has.

"Tha Shiznit." I would guess any song where the artist refers to himself as the shit should count.

Best album made whilst in jail

Johnny Cash is another one of those musicians (along with Bob Marley and others) who people act like they are big fans of, yet they couldn't name more than ten songs by said artist.

    Essential WWE DVD's

Benoit's and Guerrero's DVD's look to have some great shit on them too. And the Shawn Michaels "From the Vault" is pretty bare bones but the matches on there are great, I have that DVD.

    Essential WWE DVD's

Ok, I've started to watch some more wrestling recently, but ONLY "classic" or old school" stuff, pretty much pre-1999, with maybe some later stuff thrown on. If anyone can list the top 10 DVD's focusing mainly on this era it would be much appreciated. Thanks

    "Tip Drill"

MX already answered it, why do you need Ripper? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ripper would give a definitive be-all, end-all definition of it though.
