I was pretty accurate in my first round matchups (pointless/useless shill), so here are my second rounders: Silva/Sakuraba: It's been done to death, but provides a draw for the quarter finals, while giving at least one of the two biggest names a trip to the semis. Shogun/Arona: BTT vs. Chute Boxe plus Arona having history with Shogun's brother makes this a logical matchup. Plus it guarantees another Brazilian out of the tourney. Vovchanchyn/Lil' Nog: Lil' Nog has already fought the other two a combined three times, twice in the past year, so this match makes sense. Nakamura/Overeem: They give Nakamura the match where he has the most chance of success by giving him Overeem, although he's no walk in the park, ask Belfort. I think if they end up with no Japanese fighter in the final, it won't be as big a deal as people make it seem. They could conceivably throw Sakuraba/Tamura on there as a the big drawing match, because these two guys have some bad blood between each other. Couple that with the possibility of Fedor/Cro Cop also being on the card, the highly rumored Yoshida/Dong Sik reserve matchup, and other superfights with big names like Nogueira, Rampage, etc. and you have a pretty killer card right there.

If Pride can't get a Silva/Sakuraba final, I think a Silva/Vovchanchyn final would be the best bet since Igor's probably the third biggest name left in the tourney behind the first two mentioned.

Wait a minute, are we having a conversation in the MMA thread? Most of the time people just post stuff here and nobody ever replies to it. I doubt that has anything to do with it either. He looked like the same old Quinton at the weigh ins and in interview prior to the fight. He got caught in the ribs by a well placed knee from Shogun and that was it, he just covered up the rest of the fight. Actually he should have done the smart thing like Igor did when he fought him, tap out or verbally submit. -

Here's another thing that's bugging me right now. This infatuation people have with Quinton Jackson "sucking". He fights Ninja on short notice because of his rehab and then he gets his ribs broken a short time into his fight with Shogun. Oh, his religion, his new lifestyle, it's ruining his career. Well guess what rubes, remember the first fight he had after his "change," yeah, that's right, the one where he have Wanderlei Silva his toughest fight in years. Rampage is just fine, don't worry about him. -

Shogun was VERY impressive against Rampage. I'm just saying that he's going to have to prove himself like Fedor did. Beat a top 15 fighter (Schilt), beat a top 10 fighter (Herring), and then beat a top 5 fighter who was number 1 in the world (Nogueira). One big win isn't going to make me surgically attach myself to his nutsack for the next 2 months. -

You would think that someone who's seen enough MMA as you RRR, would not be using the he beat a guy who another guy couldn't beat in a certain amount of time argument. The thing about Silva is that his recovery power is amazing, no one has the chance to take advantage of their hits on him. If motherfucking Mark Hunt can't knock Silva out with clean shots, no one can. -

Silva having that weak chin must be the reason why he lost all those fights... oh wait. Silva has a good chin, he takes one on the button but still keeps going. I have yet to see him get hit with anything by anyone that has slowed him down. Lil' Nog and Arona would do to Shogun the exact same thing as Babalu did in their fight. -

I second these thoughts. Jimmy Fallon is one of the most annoying human beings on the planet. I might get flamed for this, but Adam Sandler would have been better in the role, even though he just did a flick with Barrymore not too long ago. -

I'm ready for Shogun to lose, just to see you hop off of his bandwagon. Lil' Nog and Arona could handle him, I believe. Silva could too, Vovchanchyn and Overeem on the other hand, I don't know, and he would be way too much for a broken down Sakuraba to handle. -
Download a program called HiJack This (you can get it from download.com), run a scan on your computer, save a log, and then post it to the site. I got rid of 100% of my adware, spyware, and viruses with their help.

You may not like Family Guy Tawren, but you probably still agree that Family Guy was meant to be crazy and over the top, and the Simpsons wasn't, at least not to the same extreme. That might account for the poor performance of the Simpsons past several seasons, it's a show that doesn't play to its strengths anymore and that's why it's been on a downward spiral lately.

Isn't 100 mil the watermark for a "hit", or a successful theater run? -
I "like" the one where they are trapped in the school during a snowstorm and Ned and Homer try to save them. I use the term "like" loosely because that ep is not even in my top 50 favs, which shows how the quality gap between pre 9/10 and post 9/10.

Anyone up for an all-time NBA draft?
AboveAverage484 replied to TheOriginalOrangeGoblin's topic in Sports
Hey Manute Bol's a great guy, he's met with some bad luck recently. He got in a car crash and now he doesn't know if they'll have to amputate his hand or not. Oh I agree. Why else would I want him on my team? Besides being a great guy, he's fun, supports his cause, and can shoot the three. Oh yeah! I completely forgot about that game when he hit like seven threes! That was just a random game though, wasn't it? He wasn't very accurate for his career was he? -
That was what the problem was when the show started going downhill. Guest appearances every show, Homer being a complete stupid jerk moron, and totally "out-there" plots where the Simpsons would globe trot and become involved in these totally stupid and unrealistic adventures. I mean I know it's a cartoon, but weren't all the earlier episodes great because it was shit that happened to us in everyday life, where we could relate with it, but they could stretch it by using the cartoon element. Now they've totally strayed away from that formula, I can't really fault them too much though, you can only use so many ideas. The worst episode is probably the one with the old western guy, Buck McCoy or something, that episode was horrible.

Yeah, O'Haire has stated that he is pretty much done with wrestling.

My grandpa is the ultimate fuckin' handyman. Fixes tons of shit around the house, built his own deck roof with electricity and fans and shit. Too bad he lives in Birmingham. -
Jersey Mike's does rule. Count me in as one who has an unquenchable appetite. I'll eat a whole meal and then three hours later be hungry again. I'm pretty average size too, 6'0", 180.

There's been shit like this since the beginning of civilization. I read one time that Prince Williams was the antichrist.

Well, apparently they need to take my transmission apart, that alone is gonna cost me 690 big ones, not counting what they're gonna need to replace. Oh well.
