It's kind of weird because the past couple days they were thinking he would be out of the hospital in a couple of weeks, apparently his condition took a turn for the worse.

Just saw on a news flash that Bernie Mac died, apparently the news is so fresh that there isn't even an article up anywhere yet.

I've never been a big fan of warm donuts. I like them better after they've sat in the box for almost a day, they aren't as slimy or squishy and it doesn't feel like I'm eating a circle shaped clump of icing.

All-Time NBA Draft (THE RESULTS ARE IN THE FIRST POST)

That's cool, we were doing the seeds by the final vote rankings, right? -
For some reason, the local rock radio station in Raleigh just blasts this movie. One guy said it sucked because Christian Bale gave a terrible performance and then went back and forth impersonating Bale as Wayne and then Batman, which got annoying very quickly. There is a female D.J. on there who slags the movie too, but it was great because a listener called into the station and proceeded to call her artistic taste out because she played the new Kid Rock song immediately after trashing the Dark Knight, which I thought was great.

Are we still going to do the simulation deal? -
Jordan became a global icon by winning six titles in eight years and being the best player in the history of the sport, all on American soil. (Well except for the two Gold Medals, but you see the point) LeBron's best chance is here in the states.

Carlos Condit vs. Hiromitsu Miura. People said that this brought Condit's stock down, but I'm not in that camp. It showed Condit's toughness and what he can do when pushed by someone; Miura's no stiff. Reffing in this one was pretty shitty with obvious favoritism being showed to the champ, but what are ya gonna do, ya know?

Affliction: Day of Reckoning
AboveAverage484 replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
They're in different weight classes now, so I doubt that would be happening. -
Yeah, and that was back when Gomi was still a legitimate lightweight, not the 160 (with excessive cutting) pound monster he is now.

Affliction - Banned: Fedor vs. Sylvia
AboveAverage484 replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Makes the most sense to me. Fedor is clearly the top HW, so narrowing it down to find the most worthy challenger is better than just picking one to have him fight. -
I never really liked Wendy's burgers because the burger has always seemed pretty thin to me. Plus the cheese never seems to be melted.
-
Uhh, that's about it for Wendy's.

I've never been hard to please when it comes to food. Applebee's and the like are pretty dependable, though now that I live in a bigger city it's much easier to find non-chain establishments with great food.

I recently went to California and In N' Out Burger was all the rave, but I thought it kind of sucked. Burnt buns, greasy ass meat, a menu you can't even see, and some weak ass fries. I was unimpressed.

What about Chili's?

I was thinking the same thing. I think people rate it highly because he would wrestle in 20-30 minute matches, but the difference there is that both opponents control the flow and pace of the match. An MMA fight is an entirely different thing, as I can tell you from experience, and so can others on this board, that fighting will take the wind out of you quicker than any other sport on the planet. Adrenaline, damage from strikes, prolonged periods of offense and/or defense; all take an immense toll on all but the most in-shape fighters. Look at somebody like Ernesto Hoost, who had probably the greatest cardio in K-1 history and he will still be sucking wind at the end of each round. Anyway, back on the subject at hand, I believe Brock's cardio is a serious issue here. Heath has never been known to have GREAT cardio, but he's tough and is usually there for the entire fight. It wouldn't totally surprise me to see Heath knock him silly on the feet, a la the Kongo fight. Heath has been in with great wrestlers before; Tom Erikson and Mark Kerr immediately spring to mind, and was able to outlast his opponents in both fights. If cardio is an issue with Brock, I can see Heath toughing it out and weathering the storm on the way to a TKO stoppage or a choke out. We also don't know how good Brock's ground control is. Sure he's strong, but Heath is pretty tricky on his back, even against a guy like Nogueira who is a wizard on the ground. Brock might get Heath to the ground quickly, but I wouldn't think it totally surprising if Heath escaped or reversed to a better or dominant position.

Quick note: Josh Thomson is a lightweight, not heavy. I'm sure you just overlooked it while typing.
-
I don't know, Heath has his moments. I didn't think he had a chance against Tom Erikson or Mark Kerr and look what happened. Lesnar, truthfully, looked kind of shitty against Mir as I thought his early success was more because of Mir being careless than Brock doing anything outstanding. I don't know, maybe I'm just being a hater because I don't buy into the Brock hype, or maybe it's because I've always kind of liked Heath.

Does anyone else think Herring will sub Lesnar?

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread
AboveAverage484 replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Penn has some of the best BJJ in MMA; wouldn't that somewhat neutralize GSP's ground and pound if he has to watch out for subs? I know it was quite a while ago, but Hughes subbed GSP, and B.J. is top-notch in that department. Chances are, he probably won't sub him, but still... -
Last pick: Keith Jardine
