TSM Head-to-head FantasyBaseball League~!
Lightning Flik replied to Lightning Flik's topic in Sports
I will be doing something like that don't worry. I just need people to sign up first. Then we get something like that together. -
So does this mean that the trade for A-Rod doesn't count then?

Teddy Hart Coming to ROH on 3/13!
Lightning Flik replied to Nevermortal's topic in General Wrestling
...and who the hell began calling this a work first... Hm... Let me think... Hm... Let's see here... ...I think his name was Vitiated Spirit. Yes, I believe so. Seriously, I half believed that there might have been some anger over what Hart did, and the more this stupidity dragged on the more I felt this is a work. As soon as Samoa Joe pipped up, I called it for what it is. An elaborate work that built off of something that happened. That is why people do hate Hart, is because it is seen as something real and going to the point that people will believe "OMFG~! Teddy's just damn well insane if he shows up at RoH!" I'll give RoH credit. This is perhaps one of the better storylines that they are pulling the strings on. If it plays out just right, this will be pretty damn entertaining even more so. -

TSM Head-to-head FantasyBaseball League~!
Lightning Flik replied to Lightning Flik's topic in Sports
There is no draft times on the weekends. It isn't that they don't have any, they aren't listed. PERIOD. Oh well, I've got a backup plan that might work. We'll do the draft offline BUT all picks must be sent to me, which I'll post up in this thread. This way we can continually see the list growing and not having any problems and such. ...at least that's one thing to do anyways. -

BTW, this league also allows for odd number teams! So no worrying about making the league an odd manned league! Just join up for the fun anyways! You won't hurt anyone at all! -
TSM Head-to-head FantasyBaseball League~!
Lightning Flik replied to Lightning Flik's topic in Sports
Ahem... I said "Date is changable" so just join already. Worse comes to worse, I make it offline. -
Hello Baseball fans! With the baseball season almost upon us, I have decided to start up a TSM Fantasy Baseball League (via Yahoo) for anyone who is willing to join up and play! Come on now, don't be shy. In this head-to-head league, you'll face off against one opponent weekly. 22 weeks of fun people! What more can you ask for? Join now! This league only supports 16 teams, so don't delay! Sign up now! Just some minor notes before I go into what will be scored on and such and such. Firstly, the league begins on March 30th for play. Top six teams (at least I think it is the top 6) will advance to the playoffs to be crowned the TSM know it all of Baseball! All trades and waivers have a one day restiction. Trades will only be vetoed by the Commish (that being me). The trade deadline is August 15th. All players not selected in the draft will be free agents immediately thereafter. I'm taking the Can't Cut List off, because I'll police the league and smack anyone stupid enough to drop their whole team off for the hell of it. Minimum innings pitched per team per week is 7. Roster changes happen daily, so remember to fix them up as you go. Scoring starts of course, on March 30th. The batting roster will consist of a catcher, first, second, third, short stop, three outfielders, two utilities, and four available benches. Pitching roster consists of two starting pitchers, two relief pitchers, and two "all pitchers". The draft will be occuring at 9:45am PST (12:45pm EST) on Feb 26th. It will be a LIVE draft! So please make sure you clear out your schedule and everything else. Date can be changed although time will still probably be crap. I'll be doing a random drawing out of a hat (no, I'm not lying) on who gets what position in the draft. Ok? I'll even web cam it to prove my legitmacy of the drawings (if I can steal the webcam from my sister that is). There will be 12 statistics for batting rosters. They are: Runs, Hits, Singles, Doubles, Triples, Homeruns, Runs Batted In, Stolen Bases, Walks, Strikeouts, Errors, and Batting Average. There will be 11 statistics for pitching rosters. They are: Wins, Loses, Complete Games, Shutouts, Saves, Hits, Earned Runs, Walks, Strikeouts, Earned Run Average, and (Walks+Hits)/Innings Played (WHIP). Now then, most of these statistics will probably change by the coming of the season, but that's what I got. But for right now, a total of 23 statistics up for grabs. Times 22 weeks and that's a whomping 506 "games" to win. If you wish to play, just join away. League ID# is 17124. Password is choko Of course, as always, I'm Crimson Storm. Have fun guys! Hopefully, we'll get a whole bunch of people to play.

June 1st, 2004 With Combat Zone Wrestling closing its doors, it kind of hit home how volatile this business of ours is. Even if you have been around for five years and going strong, that doesn’t necessarily mean you can make it big. You still can fail and end up nothing more than a faded memory of what can be. “Excuse me, sir. I have a report to give. Remember?” I had been so wrapped up in thought that I forgot about my meeting with Sophie about how my last month went. Hopefully, I’ll be hearing some good news. “Thank you. I must say your business aspect is quite ideal as we’ve steadily been gaining in both financial and public support. As such our public image has risen to 78 as of last month, and we continue to be drawing better crowd reactions to everything we do.” “This was good news.Last month as a little lackluster I thought and could’ve still been better.” “On the contrary, all I’ve heard so far from our last monthly event is good reviews of it. Although, you are right. We could still do better. Our best televised match was The Messiah vs. Adam Windsor on May 4th for the Ultimate Championship. While our best match from Midsummer Madness was the grudge match: Big Vito vs. The Messiah.” “Nice to hear. Too bad Big Vito and Messiah won’t sign on long term. I could really use them to put over the company big time. Oh well, I’ve got everyone else to build the shows upon. Big things for Adam, Crush, Marcus and Leo then.” I watched as her eyes lit up in shock at the last two names mentioned. She spoke with utter disbelief. “Marcus and Leo? But you wouldn’t dare put those two in a title match so early! They aren’t ready!” Ok… I understand her being a little upset with my decision to put Adam Windsor and Orange Crush as my front running stars, but getting mad about my great wrestling stars, Marcus and Leo? I know a good thing when I see one and those two where/are it. “Look, I just mean I’m going to build them up as great wrestlers. We are still months away before I’ll even consider giving them a title. Let alone get near the Ultimate Championship. I just mean, I’m going to use them to build up my company.” “Alright, but might I suggest also building up some other superstars as well? Perhaps Chance Beckett, GQ, Adam Flash and Paul London? They seem like they are ready to take it up a notch.” “Hm… Not a bad idea. Since Chance is the Champion, I could use him to face off against GQ (his rival), perhaps build the division around Adam Flash (who seemingly works good with almost everyone) till at least Danny Rose returns, and perhaps even have a good run of Paul London as Champion. The possibilities are endless…” “Anyways, sir. I’ll leave you to your insane plans. Good night.” -

Actually, I just used them elementry style. I've been setting up the rankings and I'm simply stunned at what I've done despite the bullshit that it is, looking at the rankings and stats. As soon as July hits, you'll understand what I mean. -

Chapter 5 – Revisions ***WARNING*** I have taken the best of what other people have used in their own federation diaries and added them to my own. Thus to challenge myself and add a little intrigue into my diaries. Also anything else I can think of at this time. So first, I’d like to say that I’m borrowing the preview from well… Just about everyone since it’ll help flesh out my shows and federation a little more. Finally, um… I’d like to say that soon I’ll probably be adding in a divisional categorical account of who is in what division. This will most likely happen in July. I thank RoH and anyone using RoH diaries for the idea and the expansion I’ll be making to it. ***END WARNING*** June 1st, 2004 It’s been a hectic news week for us folks so let’s get right to it. NWATNA made huge strides when they signed Hulk Hogan. Yes, it is official and done. The WWE wasn’t about to pick up the aging Man of Hulkamania, however, TNA goes out of its way to sign Hulk Hogan to a written contract. This could either make or break TNA as it vies to be the #1 company in the wrestling industry. Not to stop there, but TNA went out of its way and managed to sign Devon Storm to a written contract as well. Devon Storm, a.k.a. Crowbar of WCW, has been told that he shall be getting a big push to the top of the card but that remains to be seen. With every company fighting to becoming #1, there are bound to be some companies that just can’t keep up and finally end up going broke. Recently USA Pro Wrestling, NWA: Florida, East Coast Wrestling Associaton, and IWA: Mid South all filed for bankruptcy. But the biggest shocker of all the federations going bankrupt would be Combat Zone Wrestling. After five years of being in the wrestling business, CZW had to file for bankruptcy and officially close its doors. Although lately CZW had a rough history with being consider a garbage federation, to becoming somewhat of a legitimate entity, before drifting back to a garbage federation, it was one of those federations you would always assume would be around. However, it simply wasn’t meant to be. I ask for a moment of silence as we pay our respects to CZW. … AJPW has announced its roster for the new year and the following people were included in its roster: Abdullah The Butcher, Elix Skipper, Hi69, Johnny Smith, Kaz Hayashi, Mike Awesome, NOSAWA, The Amazing Red, Tomoaki Honma and Toshiaki Kawada. And in Ultimate Championship Wrestling news, apparently, UCW is bolstering up its rankings once again by hiring Dino Bambino, Brian XL, tag team Fuzion (Blade and Mike Paiva) and tag team Five Star Attraction (Eric Young and Matt Classic). Expect all these wrestlers to appear sometime in the near future on Ultimate Championship Wrestling programming here soon. -
Since everyone is ok with how the stats are played out, and how the suggestion for an extra player is. Here we go with what we'll have for next season. Again, just a proposition. 9 players to be drafted once again. 2 guards, 2 forwards, 2 utilities, a lone centre, 2 benches. IL drops to 2. Stats: FGM, FTM, 3PTM, PTS, REB, AST, STL, BLK, TO(new). 9 stats in total, one new stat. Two keepers is still debatable, btw, but since I'm not changing anything (only adding a single stat to get rid of the 4-4 ties), the idea of keepers will be staying. Said amount is up in the air. On March 21st, you must decide whether you wish to take two keepers and lose your first two draft picks, or restart fresh. Now I know some people are going to say that "I would've planned on keeping some players had I known this" but how are you sure you were going to keep them then? Besides, I doubt a lot of people will go the two keeper route (mostly bottom drafting teams that were highly ranked). You have the option of changing your choice of keepers or fresh up until April 18th (that's the finalized day for having keepers or no). Trading keepers for picks or keepers for keepers will be allowed a month prior to the official drafting day. During the draft, trades will be allowed, but only at the person officating the trade's pick (so say I have the 14 draft pick in the third round, and I'm trading up, I must state that I've traded my third round pick for Alfdogg's #3 choice, Brian Cardinal, and then let Alfdogg make his pick). All trades made during the draft, must be approved by the commish before said trade is announced (just because I don't want this multi-player eighteen man trade going down between three teams without due notice and assurance that this is agreed upon by both managers). That more or less covers it. As it stands right now for the draft (order of the draft will be finalized March 21st as well, playoffs is a whole difference season and shouldn't reflect on what is done). What position you have determines what pick you have every single round. 01) *New Manager* 02) Gotham Harlequinns 03) Crimson Storm 04) Gwangju White Tigers 05) Fear The Slayers 06) Pocono Poison 07) The Alfdogg Asylum 08) The Allegied Rapists 09) The Court Jesters 10) Pogo The Monkey 11) Whalers On The Moon 12) Team Failure~! 13) Better Than Utah 14) Team 2004 15) Celtics 16) Guerreros

You do know you are dealing with wrestling fans who can and will find something to bitch about. You can't keep everyone happy. I CAN TRY DAMMIT~!!! IF THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS A WAY! ...besides, since I'm jobless, I'm commited to making this work.

Meh. More TEW info. You know here it's from. You know who's telling you this (Adam). You know that I, the one and only bring you this info. The Interview (Note: Adam never gives proper interviews, they are always weird)
-
And if this is the sentiment of the league itself, I'm not about to change things (except add one stat and perhaps another starter). It's just I don't want any complaints for next season. Edit: Antwain Jamison is up for trade.

Remember HarleyQuinn, whenever you are taking into account finances of any Canadian franchise, you must remember we are bound by our own money. Hence that $45 mil US, is really $70 mil to us. The difference in money really makes or breaks us.
-
Because no one is going to find two good centres after all the good ones go in the first five rounds.
-
Hm.... Good point on both parts. I think I'll just look on increasing our stats for this season. Keep those but increase upon them. Eight players is an idea... Although, that would mean that eight players playing, and two benches... But I can go with that. Although it'd be: 3G, 2F, 1C, 2U.
-
I still don't understand that logic. Stars are valuable no matter what stats you use. A system that brings the value of stars down isn't very good. A player's real value should roughly match their fantasy value. I'm not looking for a system to bring star power down. I'm trying to find a system that bring role player value up.

The One And Only Final Fantasy: Crystal Cronicles
Lightning Flik replied to Lightning Flik's topic in Video Games
...I just said the game was good. Multi-player is simply fun. It is probably the best social experience you'll have playing a video game in a long time. You see, GBAs serve as not only your controllers, but also as your menus. So everything is on the fly. Need to change a command so that you have a Cure Materia (yes, Materia is back) in one of the slots, you have to hurry you ass off because a monster might glomp you at any moment. Just pray that your buddies have your back. You can pause the game at any point in multi-player, but it just stops the game from happening. When in multi-player one person must carry the Crystal Chalice (in single player, Mog the Moogle will be more than happy to carry it for you, and bitch about how you should carry it when he's had enough), as it gives you a sphere of protection from Miasma (the deadly poison that covers the lands). Step out of this protection and you begin to lose your health rapidly. It's a good way to keep players together but at the same time, I get the feeling that they should've went the Secret of Mana route. Oh well. Each GBA will be given a certain part of a map. One will actually have the map to get around, the next will be able to scope out the nearby baddies, another will be for treasure chests, and I actually forget the last one (I don't think I ever go it). So you need to relay what is happening vocally, so you need to tell your Caravaners that such and such treasure chest is up ahead; as the Caravaner to the right of you says there are three baddies by that treasure chest. Each dungeon has special "treasures" (I prefer the term artifacts) that boost up your abilities. Yes, that's right. There is no leveling up of any kind! Yes, they used the Chrono Cross style of leveling up! Yes, this may suck balls, but it isn't as bad as in Chrono Cross. Actually, it works quite well in this one. Because of the implications that I'm about to tell you. Now you might be wondering how does one choose what artifacts go to whom? Well, whenever you begin a Myrrh (that's what you collect in your Crystal Chalice) stage in multi-player below the map you are given, you will have a selected objective. It can range from "Don't pick up anything" (my father ended up with that one on the very first stage, I spent the whole stage carrying the Crystal Chalice, never found out till after we beat the boss why that was so), to "Take Magical Damage", to "Deal Out Physical Damage, to etc. There are many different ones, and at current time, I've had about 20 different ones. Some repeated, but there are at least 20 to deal with. Whoever has completed their objective as best as they can, gets first choice of artifacts to become theirs. The artifacts range from "Main Gauge", which increases strength, to Arai Helm, which increases defense, to "Blizzard Ring", which is a Materia Ring that lets you cast Blizzard at any point you want as long as it is in your command list. The game plays a lot like most action RPGs. It's hack and slash, with the neccessary spell thrown in to make some terrific bangs and booms, along with the occasional spell. When you get a group of people together to play, it goes from simple hack and slash to the Secret of Mana style of play. Seriously, it is much better in multi-player than in single. When in single player, the AI becomes noticably sketchy and inconsistant, whilst the AI in multi-player seems top notch and constantly trying to kill you. Menus are easy to navigate and get around in. It'll take you awhile to get it to "easy" as there are a lot of menus to go through and you'll sometimes make the error of hitting a wrong menu (and subsequently dying). That's not to say the menus are clunky, but in multi-player, when you don't have a Life Materia and need to find that Plum of a Pheonix (Pheonix Down), you might in your haste, forget to equip it to your command list and instead use it from your item list (which casts it on yourself). Knowing your menus will make it easy to play. In single player the game is only about 10 hours long (I'm at about 4 right now and mostly done, except I think I'll need to buff up my single player). It is your standard action game with RPG elements. Add the multi-player and the game jumps to 30 hours easily. Why? Becuase you need to bring everyone together (in-game). Graphically, this game isn't your typical Final Fantasy. The game is all run on the same engine, so FMVs or cutscenes are all using the same engine. They made this game shine with the graphics as it is probably and I'm saying this without lie, the best graphical looking Final Fantasy to date. Yes, Final Fantasy X is second rate compared to the overal artisticness of this game. Everything is noticable, from the way the water ripples when you walk through it, to the spells, to every the swinging of your sword. I've spent a good couple of minutes enjoying towns and stuff because it looked so neat. The only questionable factor is the story. It is not your typical story, nor does it all come at you in the great big chunks you'd expect of an RPG (hence, I prefer to call this an "Adventure" game). You are a Crystal Caravaner, writing in a book called the "Crystal Cronicles" (hence the name), about your adventures collecting Myrrh (dew of the Myrrh Trees). You travel from your hometown of Tipa (default name) to the Iron Deep Mines Region, to former throne of the world, Alfitharia (...spelling is so off) of the Lillities, to the magical city Shella of the Yukes, to practically everywhere. There isn't much of a story per se, just the tellings of the world and how it came to pass that Miasma covers the land and some other things that I'm not about to spoil you on. You can play the game to find those out. Overall, I'd say this is a game that I had hopes for wouldn't end up being say... Mystic Quest like in that it really dumbed down or just was wishy washy (it still was a good game though). Instead, there is a great game here, that when played in multi-player, becomes an event that is a true meaning of the word "adventure". ***Note to those with SPs. In order for you to hook up your GBA SP with the Gamecube connector (offical or third party), you must "loosely" hook it up. You have to fool the Gamecue connector into thinking it is on all the way. As if you do hook it up all the way, it'll lock down on your L & R buttons and then you will not be able to play with the SP. This is because, at the time, Crystal Cronicles wasn't created with the SP in mind, so the connectors weren't either.***
