21 has worked so well, we should raise it to 31. Then we'll really get something done around here. We need to ban more stuff, too.

The American voter is as dumb as it gets. The race is no better than 50/50 for Obama. The voters actually seem to think that offshore drilling will save everything overnight just because they believe a man who was paid by a subsidized industry to tell them so.

Ben Berrnanke doesn't want you to take a raise this year*

Not to argue with a mathematician such as yourself, Marvin, but I do believe that when one travels that couple of dollars of gas has to be multipled by the length of the trip. -

I see a correlation between the predatory lenders and the horseshit-spewing military recruiters. -
When will the Patriots sign Joe Horn?

I will never tire of Foreman-Lyle. There was a sequel of sorts in the late 90s with Mo Harris and Derrick Jefferson on HBO.

I think this was either the second or third 120+ pitch game for him as a Brewer. Most of his CGs have been in the low 100s. This is Milwaukee, though. He'll probably tear every muscle in his arm before the season ends.

They're playing a free show in Madison, 9/6 with GZA and the Black Keys. I don't get the Gym Class tour at all.

I wouldn't like any of those three really. Kaine adds nothing in particular to the ticket (and, as governor, he can help Obama in VA anyway, as can Webb and Mark Warner. Maybe they'll throw Chuck Robb out on the stump as well). Biden is practically guranteed to say something stupid and I think he'd be better suited as Secretary of State. Bayh is the worst. Sam Nunn brings tons of experience and, if Obama ends up with any chance there, possible help in Georgia. He's also younger than McCain by a few years. I also don't think an experienced candidate takes anything away from Obama's 'change' message. And I want my prediction to be right! I do think Kerry would be the best/my favorite choice. All my reasoning has already been posted. Hopefully the latest talk of the announcement still being a few days off is a ruse to keep leaks/reporters away so the mailing list does get it first. I don't want to keep waiting. I really thought one of these guys would have made a pick before the Olympics.

Or, the bullpen was used heavily on the west coast trip, they didn't have a day off upon returning to Milwaukee, and CC has proven himself to be a workhorse. But, I do have to agree that they probably don't have much business thinking about October baseball. They're a small-market team with remarkable consistency for late-season collapses.

Neil Young will tour the US/Canada from October-December. Death Cab for Cutie opens the first leg, Wilco the second. Special note for Czech: He probably wont be playing any of the Living With War material.

Overuse him, they lose. Bring in the bullpen, they lose. What more do I want?

You're right, there is an issue with the Milwaukee bullpen. See last night for example.

Milwaukee managed to beat Houston at home. Unfortunately, Ryan Braun re-injured his ribs.
-
Drudge lists several sources indicating he's made the pick with the announcement coming either tomorrow or Wed. morning.

My friends, the surge is working, my friends.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0808/12594.html I thought McCain was supposed to be the tough-guy candidate?
-
I think the 12th amendment disqualifies him.

Can I assume you're a fan of Matthew's Pizza, Marvin?

I suffer from upside-down dyslexia. Don't make fun.

It was exciting. I would've liked a different conclusion, though. Fortunately, the Cubs and Cards both lost today so it doesn't really hurt Milwaukee much. Unfortunately, the bullpen remains very shaky and Suppan is unreliable at best. CC starts tomorrow.

I agree. Safe/out calls, ball/strike calls, home runs, errors/hits, they should all be reviewable. We want to see who wins the games with fair statistics, not the random opinions or confusion of the umpires.

I see it the other way. I'm already investing 3 hours of my time in watching this game; I want it to be called accurately, not as a crapshoot.
