    NFL Playoffs: Divisional Round

I knew the D's were good but its pretty surprising to see this game go 20 minutes before 3 points were scored.

Damn...Alexander just plain dropped that one.

    UFC Ultimate Fight Night 3

Brian - Nice Tuesday Night Fight reference. I hope that is what these Spike shows end up being because the growing fanbase (myself included) need a solid education on the upcoming fighters. IVe liked most everything Ive seen so far and Im following it closer with each show I see.

    TLC this Monday Night

Im going to watch because I think both will happen. Hopefully its entertaining, but its going to depend on the booking. A good 10 minute bloody brawl with a few big bumps should be fun...but itll probably end up being a bunch of run-ins and 'controversial shenanigans'

    The Band

Corgans poetry book wasnt 'too bad' in that it differed from his lyrics. Kind of interesting, but definitly no Ginsberg or Corso. But, despite the Pumpkins being one of my favorite bands growin up, Corgan certainly fits the 'giant douche' role. Corgan does get some credit for actually being able to play and write for all the various instruments...something Robertson didnt/couldnt do. I wonder how Bob Dylan gets along with the surviving members of the Band?

    Showtime Fights

Heads up for those who care...two undisputed title fights on Showtime this saturday night. Jean Mark Mormeck and O'Neil Bell unify the cruiserweight belts; Zab Judah defends the world welterweight title against the wbc's #1 contender Carlos Baldomir. My predictions: O Neil Bell will score a big upset knockout around the 9/10th round. Zab Judah will blow out Baldomir in the first round and make a statement before the PBF superfight.

    Coachella dates

Paul Oakenfold can be added to the confirmed list. Im not a big fan. Underworld appars to be confirmed though...and thats just awesome. Giant Drag and Imogen Heap are confirmed as well I think. Iron & Wine and Calexico are touring elsewhere and wont be at Coachella. Heres the newest ticket info from the coachella site for those interested... "Here's your chance to buy 2-day passes and onsite camping tickets before they go on sale to the public. The presale starts Wednesday, January 25th at 10am and ends Friday, January 27th at 10pm (pacific standard time) online through ticketmaster. The password for this presale is SEVEN. 2-Day passes will be $TBA + $2 to charity (+ applicable service charges) Onsite camping tickets will be $35 (+ applicable service charges) Tickets will go on sale to the public on Saturday, February 4th at noon." The official lineup probably wont be out til the first week in Feb so the presale is a bit of a crapshoot. Bonnaroo fest news comin very soon...

Kind of a Billy Corgan syndrome?

    Preach to me!

Clearly, you will like the music that you are told to like and nothing more. Until you opt to approach music not as an elitist sport but as a matter of personal choice and passion...there is nothing I can offer to you. There are plenty of people like you...indie, metal, hippie, rock radio...whatever youre supposed to like, you will. Keep trying hard, Im sure someone will find you credible.

    TLC this Monday Night

Heh...the TLC match intrigues me anyway. Edge will probably take a few good bumps and Flair will bleed all over the place after a few wicked chairshots. Sounds like entertainment to me...probably be the worst TLC match ever but should be a fun 15 minutes of television.

    Preach to me!

Nico is crap...but Antony's similar (but operatic) theatrical style is good? Explain this please. As for why you seem like youre trying to hard - You made a comment that I am 'retarded' for explaining why the term "jamband" is nonsense. That showed you as someone eager to join a group of people with a mindset that one type of music (no matter how erroneously categorized) is equal and inferior. To me that is a sign of boxed-in tastes and that you dont want to be associated with anything that is frowned upon by the indie music community. Also, I find that your liking of a band like Bloc Party but not a RHCP to be a bit odd. I can only assume that when/if Bloc Party becomes a rock radio staple...you wont like them either. Nonetheless, I have offered bands/artists (none of which are too mainstream) that may interest you. I also suggest not instantly dismissing any music just because its not underground or considered 'cool' by some indie definition.

    TNA's first house this March?

ICP need to be guest announcers on iMPACT! Oh shit! That faggot Jarrett just ripped AJ Styles' heart out with a fucking ninja claw weapon! So help me Guido if he does that again Ill have to go down there and rectalfy the situation!

    The Band

I agree about staying with the first 3 albums. And that Robertson has definitly (and terribly unfairly) overshadowed all his Band-mates. Robbie Robertson was a very good songwriter...but he wasnt another Neil or Bob no matter how hard any mainstream critics have tried to sell him as.

    Preach to me!

I think youre trying way too hard to have some sort of 'indie cred'....

    The Band

Yes, I think Levon was the only American member. But he sang lead on 'Dixie' and also helped Robertson write some of the lyrics as he had an obviously better understanding of the American South. DMann - Have you seen the Last Waltz?

    Showtime Fights

Ugh...Fightnews.com is now reporting that HBO is still interested in PBF-Zab for Apr8. Hopefully someone brings them to their senses. Hatton-Tszyu was a good fight, pretty brutal. Wrestling is a Johnboy Ruiz match.

    Judge Samuel Alito

I honestly believe that Hilary will have just too much exposable baggage to win the Dem nomination.

    Judge Samuel Alito

The Constitution doesnt say anything about why people cant smoke herb either... The Dems will have a fine chance in '08 if they run someone with a little charisma (Feingold, Bayh) and dont run the campaign like a boardroom full of retardeds (John Kerry). The Republican party has been doing a swell job of damaging itself lately.

    Showtime Fights

All I know is...after Hatton's performance against Tszyu (when almost noone was giving him a real chance) I wont doubt him. Mayweather will probably win but is a very intriguing superfight if it can happen. Also, I think Tszyu himelf still has plenty of fight in him. Once he gets his confidence and gets back in the mix we could have the opportunity to see superfights left and right.

    The Band

Again, he didnt sing it as good or any better...but it was a very good cover. Matching Levon is impossible but some artists can do an admirable cover nonetheless. Greg Allman is one of the few. Example - I like Natalie Merchant's cover of Jeff Buckley's 'Last Goodbye'. Is it as good or better? No. Is it still good/enjoyable? Yes.
