    The President's Bunghole

The ever-classy Lyndon Johnson is heard on the following recording making a special request for some new Haggar slacks. To illustrate just what it is hes looking for in a good pair of trousers he uses descriptions such as 'where my nuts hang' and '(burp) down by my bunghole'. Its hilarious stuff to me anyway... http://americanradioworks.publicradio.org/...lbj_haggar.html

    What was worse?

Well, if Ric Flair's book can be believed (and I dont see why hed lie about this), at least Arquette treated the title with a bit of class and dignity. This is more than can be said of the modern wwe booking staff. In 2000 I had little or no problem watching a full 2 or 3 hours of WWF or WCW....now its phyiscally impossible for me to do that with Raw.

I have the Wrestlemania Anthology Collection

Even if it was on DVD, as a period piece it would get especially screwed on the music rights issues. Just think about some moment on the show where something hits Kevin hard and in the b/g they played "Turn Turn Turn". Now imagine that same moment, except replaced with some generic music instead... That's what happened with the Happy Days set Exactly. And it is a huge tragedy for American culture.

As a fellow Beavis and Butthead fan, I agree completely. The worst thing is the lack of Wonder Years on dvd...

    2005: How was your year?

It wasn't nearly as bad as 1992 when your fatass got shoved in that casket...

    2005: How was your year?

Bad - Dad died and tornado smashed my town in the same month. Job moved to Missouri. Learned I would never again see a kid I helped raise from 1-4, and he will never remember me. Good - Saw alot of really good bands (about 150 total but not all good) and made good on a new years resolution to record a cd.

    Top 10 Shows of '05

I thought Dope was a pretty fun band when I saw 'em in late '04....can't say I ever listen to their cds though.

    Emo/Punk/Pop Rock stuff...

Now we're gettin somewhere... All I usually do to describe the bands in the 'jamband' mold is just use the terms Corey used that actually describe the style of the artists...jazzy, bluesish, alt-rock, beat based, blugrass, folk, etc. This is a way to let people know what theyre actually going to hear if they listen to a certain band...not 'they jam out and bathe in patchuli oil'. Unfortunately alot of the fans of 'jambands' are just as bad as the people that absentmindedly hate it...they will only listen to bands pre-labeled 'jam' by their friends/magaizines/etc. Example - A college student likes Umphreys McGee the 'jamband' but might refuse to listen to Pavement, one of the bands obvious inspirations. Likewise, someone that digs dieselboy or Underworld for their beats might refuse to listen to a rootsier beat-based group like Particle due to its 'jamband' affiliation.

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

We mustve been watching different WCWs at the time...Austin was really over with the Hollywood Blonds (and had plenty of heat after the breakupand during matches with Steamboat etc) and had already been over as a single before that in the Dangerous Alliance. He was as over in early/mid '94 as Steamboat in early '89...remember, Steamboat was coming off an embarassing end to his WWF run followed by an absence. Flair-Austin would have been alot of fun and would have drawn well...without wasting a boatload of cash on Hogan and his buddies.

    Best Album of 1975

Outside of a few great exceptions Neil wasn't near the lyricist of a Bob Dylan. Plenty of people (fans included) have complained about Neil's lack of singing abilities as well(though hes far superior to Dylan there and, imo, probably the vocal equal of a Roger Waters). There was just this huge intangible about the passion and honesty in Neil's songs. Neil was never more honest than with 'Tonights the Night'

    Emo/Punk/Pop Rock stuff...

Alot of people think every 'metal' song sounds the same... I, and others, have already listed several bands that 'jam out' (the apparent criteria, unless someone wants to all-out genius and say 'they all hippies!) but arent lumped in as 'jambands'. Its already been mentioned repeatedly how the bands dont all sound the same.
  15. HTQ - I liked your idea...except I think the first Undertaker-Kane match should have bben saved as a big drawing card for WM14, especially with your booking lacking the buzz factor of Mike Tyson.

    Best Album of 1975

Ill keep my 'Tonights the Night' pick. Tonight is just so raw, vital, and true...the songs might be outclassed (even by many of the oher releases that year) but I don't know if anything more passionate has ever been recorded. There were alot of great albums that year apparently and 'Tonights the Night' (and maybe one or 2 others ever) would I consider to be stronger than 'Born to Run' and 'Blood on the Tracks'.

    The United States Military

Of course, our Armed Services are doing a fine job. Its the elected leaders with zero combat experience that leave something to be desired...

    Time Magazine is retarded.

Damn. And there have already been explanations of why Bono and the Gateses were 'people of the year'. If the only thing that people can post contrary to this is 'fuck u2!', give no explanations or other viable candidates (except 'nature' which was agreeable to me) than just strap on your helmets and walk into walls.

    Emo/Punk/Pop Rock stuff...

You do realize that Ive said several times that I don't like almost all of the bands in the 'jamband' genre and Im only saying that the term itself is stupid, correct? Or is reading words on a computer screen just too much of a task to handle? Basically, anyone who follows the leader and uses ridiculous broad terms like 'jamband' should just listen to whatever theyre told to by top40 radio, etc...

    Hopkins/Jones Set For March 11th...

Yep, that was great news to hear...and HBO has followed the lead and appear to be putting Hasim Rahman-James Toney on regular hbo as well. Why anyone would be interested in B-Hop-Roy 2 is way beyond me...if you really need 'name' fighters theres already two better ppv matchups scheduled for '06 in Mosely-Vargas and DLH-Mayorga. Along with the other fights scheduled Hop-Roy is like an ugly bitch in a room full of sweet cuties, only worthy of being ignored.

    Mayweather vs. Judah

Zab has a far greater chance of beating PBF than Hatton... The way Floyd embarassed Arturo Gatti showed he shouldn't have much trouble with a thinskinned slugger like Hatton. Zab has some of the same attributes as Jose Luis Castillo (the one fighter to really test PBF) only bigger, stronger, faster but less cagey. Now, if Zab were to somehow beat Floyd...Hatton-Zab would be classic stuff.
