*The taping opened with Jimmy Hart coming out and welcoming everyone and cutting a promo. *Jonny Fairplay returned to NWA:TNA for the first time in several months, coming out with a bodyguard and cutting a promo. *The actual Impact! Taping began at this point. *The show opened with Sonny Siaki & Irish Pat Kenney & Desire defeating Johnny Swinger & Glen Gilberti & Trinity in a mixed six person tag as Kenney pinned Gilberti. *Heavy Metal pinned NWA:TNA X-Division champion Frankie Kazarian in a non-title match. They must be doing an awesome job at keeping the crowd hot as it's really loud to the point I can hardly hear my source over the phone.
-
Sooo something big should happen here tonight I guess. Maybe Kanyon will finally debut.
-
Better results: The place was packed with 900 fans, mostly teenage guys who were into everything. They really helped make the show rock. Jimmy Hart welcomed everyone to the show. Jonny Fairplay then came out with a masked wrestler and cut a promo. NON-FOX MATCHES (1) Sonny Siaki & "Irish" Pat Kenney & Desire beat Trinity & Glenn Gilberti & Johnny Swinger (2) Heavy Metal pinned Frankie Kazarian in a non-title match. IMPACT TAPING (1) Amazing Red & Sonjay Dutt & Hector Garza beat Team Canada (Bobby Roode & "Showtime" Eric Young & Petey Williams. I think it was Roode who his that intverted powerbomb off the ropes. Impressive! Team Canada had cool matching outfits. Everyone's outfits tonight were major league, a major step up from what I have seen on the PPVs. (2) Abyss pinned Shark Boy. A Popeye mascot ran out and made the save afterward, which the crowd popped big for. (3) America's Most Wanted beat Kid Kash & Dallas to capture the NWA World Tag Team Titles. AMW seemed to have some trouble adjusting to the six-sided ring, but otherwise the wrestlers seemed to be okay in the new style ring. Jeff Jarrett interrupted a Dusty Rhodes promo when Dusty was talking about the prestige of the NWA World Title. When Ron Killings came out, Jarrett hit him with a guitar. (4) A.J. Styles beat Michael Shane and Elix Skipper and Chris Sabin in a four-way match to determine the no. 1 contender for the X Title. Styles wasn't announced ahead of time, as the fourth slot was called a mystery. Fans, though, were chanting "We Want A.J." before he came out. He got one of the biggest pops of the night. Really good match to show off the X Division style. The six-sided ring added to the cool moves. NON-IMPACT MATCH (1) Ron "The Truth" Killings beat Monty Brown in a Gauntlet match with all of the other big name heavyweights including Raven, Sabu, Road Dogg, etc. Raven got a huge pop as fans definitely recognized him. Notes: I heard there were fans lined up in the 100 degree humid weather since 2 p.m., five hours before the taping started, just so they could get the best seats... The entrance set, which includes a separate tunnel for the babyfaces and heels, was awesome. I feared the place was going to feel too "Hollywood" and movie-set-like, but it was just a cool set up and really seemed classy and major league... Jimmy Hart was plugging the tapings all day around the theme park to tourists and he was throwing around names like Sting and Hacksaw Duggan to try to draw fans to the arena. He must have been worried about filling the place and was willing to lie to get people to go... Jeremy Borash told the crowd they were much more normal and better looking than the Nashville fans. Pretty funny!... pwtorch.com

They could have debuted someone new like Kanyon atleast. They didn't even give an explanation as to who the woman at the ppv was last night.
-
Well TNA had their chance. This show ain't going to draw shit. They needed to come out with a bang and they didn't even attempt anything out of the ordinary.

Results from the first NWA:TNA Impact! TV Taping at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida saw the following results: Dark Matches: *The taping opened with Jimmy Hart coming out. Hart was accompanied by a music video that featured mostly WWF footage. Hart welcoming everyone and cut a promo. Hart then introduced Jonny Fairplay, who returned to NWA:TNA for the first time in several months and come out with a hooded bodyguard named Tyson and cut a promo. *The show opened with Sonny Siaki & Irish Pat Kenney & Desire defeating Johnny Swinger & Glen Gilberti & Trinity in a mixed six person tag as Kenney pinned Gilberti. *Heavy Metal pinned NWA:TNA X-Division champion Frankie Kazarian in a non-title match. Impact! Taping *Sonjay Dutt & Hector Garza & The Amazing Red defeated Petey Williams & Bobby Rude & Eric Young. *Abyss pinned Shark Boy. *America's Most Wanted defeated Kid Kash and Dallas to win the NWA Tag Team championships. *NWA champion Jeff Jarrett came out during a Dusty Rhodes interview. This led to Jarrett laying out Ron Killings with a guitar shot, setting up an angle for next Wednesday's PPV. *AJ Styles won a four-way bout to win an X-Division championship match at next Wednesday's PPV, defeating Michael Shane, Elix Skipper, and Chris Sabin after pinning Shane. *In a post taping dark match, Ron Killings won a Gauntlet bout. The Gauntlet came down to Killings and Monty Brown as the final two competitors. Notes: As we noted earlier on the site, the promotion requested that the fans cheer the babyfaces and boo the heels, using that terminology....Mike Tenay and Don West did commentary live for the Impact! bouts but not the other matches. The Spanish announcing team was also doing commentary. pwinsider.com BULLSHIT, NO FUCKING SURPRISES?
-
I find it really lame that their main draw for the show tomorrow night is finding out who the "mystery" woman is. They couldn't even get fucking Kanyon or DDP.
-
Supposedly the woman that came out at the end is Gorgeous George from WCW(the one with the masturbation video).
-
Yeah it makes since for the faces to chase the heel champion and build up to the win, but what will happen once it finally happens? They will hold it for a short period then give it back to Jeff Jarrett. Funny how Jarrett can always win it despite the odds against him even though he is a heel, but the faces need outside interference.
-
FUCK JEFF JARRETT. Now I guess he can hold onto the belt for another 7 months. I give up all hope for TNA. Well I still want them to succeed to have a 2nd promotion around, but this sucks. Their shows have been boring lately as well, since they have cleaned up.
-
I'd like to see Shamrock come back. I liked him as champ and fans really got behind him if you watched the reactions on the first couple of shows. Fans were popping for arm bars and and leg locks from him.
-
I have no problems with the Truth other than his dancing. If he stops that he will be a good champion.
-
Oh yeah, I wonder if everyone will debut their new outfits tonight. They were supposed to be getting new outfits that looked more professional for IMPACT!
-
Raven should win the belt with help from Kanyon. Raven is the best man to lead TNA on national tv that they have. Raven could cement his heel turn tonight if he does it against someone like AJ or Truth. I don't have a problem with Truth holding it if he stops the stupid dancing. Jarrett should not hold the belt for a long time.

Why is it negativity? I am NOT bashing the product here at all. I am DEFINATELY bashing the place at Universal Studios for sure. It's a terrible place for wrestling and TNA in my opinion is moving from their fanbase which could hurt the way the show comes across on TV........that is all I am saying..... It can't be any worse than the "dead silent the whole show until Erik Watts comes out then mark like a little bitch" asylum in Nashville.
-
I don't get the 6 sided ring thing because they will be hyping their ppvs on this show and on their ppvs they use a 4 sided ring. If they are switching to 6 sided they should do all matches on both shows in a 6 sided ring.

·The new Fox Sports Network television deal has changed the mood in the locker room. While everyone seems happy the company is taking this step, some of the younger wrestlers are said to be nervous about working in front of a national audience. Although the pay-per-views are technically national, the wrestlers know they will be seen by more viewers on FSN. Some of these wrestlers are said to be concerned that their popularity in Nashville may not carry over to Orlando or the rest of the country. Meanwhile, some of the veterans who have worked for WWE, WCW, or ECW in the past are excited to be getting back in the mix. There are also some wrestlers who are concerned that they will be lost in the shuffle, especially if TNA brings in some of the bigger names that have been rumored, such as Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Ultimate Warrior. Some of the locker room leaders have been trying to assure the concerned wrestlers that the big names probably won't work more than a few shows for the company. ·TNA is shifting away from the NWA initials since they don't own the rights to the name. When dealing with grown in general and a national network in particular, they need to assure any partners in marketing the product that they have full rights to the name and all associated revenues. TNA has been preparing for this transition for many months as the website URL www.tnawrestling.com has linked to the same website as NWATNA.com since last year. All references to NWA have been dropped other than a small logo on the website and the names off the titles, which gives the titles in theory a sense of history and more prestige. The new Fox Sports Net program is called "TNA Wrestling Impact." It's not clear yet whether the NWA initials will be completely eliminated or not, but without question TNA Wrestling is the main name of the promotion now. ·Jimmy Hart has gained management power as a result of the role he played in helping the company reach a deal with Fox Sports Network. Hart has not been helping with booking matters as he did in the past, but sources say he clearly has as much power as anyone who doesn't have the last name Jarrett. ·Because there is no Fox Sports Net affiliate in Philadelphia, Pa., TNA Impact was in danger of not airing in the fifth biggest U.S. market. Comcast Sports Net, though, has agreed to pick up TNA Impact on a Saturday night at midnight timeslot. ·TNA Notebook: The decision to give the belt to Ron Killings was puzzling to a number of people. TNA gave him an early run with the belt. He quickly lost steam after he won the belt, and he has only recently regained the popularity he achieved prior to winning the title. It turns out, Vince Russo and Scott D'Amore made a strong and successful push to convince Jeff Jarrett and Dutch Mantel to give Ron Killings the NWA Title win on Wednesday night... Apollo hasn't been appearing on TNA shows because he is under contract to the IWA. Officials from the Puerto Rican promotion pulled the plug on his TNA appearances after the company formed an alliance with the rival World Wrestling Council... TNA officials told Konnan they would release him from his deal, but they've also been trying to talk him into sticking around... D-Lo Brown hasn't appeared on TNA television in a couple of weeks. It may have something to do with Apollo's situation since the two were tag partners, but there have also been rumblings that TNA officials are once again attempting to force him into choosing between working for them or Japan. D-Lo has been pretty adamant about wanting to maintain his Japanese schedule because the pay is better, but it's possible that the addition of FSN to the TNA schedule will change his mind... The wrestlers have been told to plan on working at least eight days per month for TNA since the company plans to do away with the idea of taping one pay-per-view each month. That's good news for the wrestlers, who are paid on a per-appearance basis. This should also help the wrestlers who are losing out on indy bookings due to TNA's problems with Ring of Honor, and the company's controversial 15 percent booking fee that they are requiring indy promoters to pay them in exchange for using contracted talent... Vince Russo issued a statement on the internet to announce that he is going to ministry school in Colorado. He was telling friends backstage that he plans to continue working for TNA, although no one seems sure whether his school schedule will force him to give up his current on-air role... The word backstage is that TNA plans to hit the "reset button" when they launch the FSN show on June 4. Meanwhile, other insiders say that while the company will certainly attempt to spice things up, they will not completely abandon past storylines... Abyss was told a few weeks ago that he was going to be a background player until the FSN show starts. He was assured that he will be involved in a big feud once the show starts... Dixie Carter has been telling wrestlers that she will have access to overnight ratings for the FSN shows. However, given the timeslot, most people are predicting that the later segments will almost automatically draw better because viewership should pick up as people get home from work or school... There is plenty of talk that TNA was promised a prime time slot on either FSN or FX this fall. No word yet as to whether the company would still be expected to pay a programming fee if the prime time talk comes to fruition... Ron Killings didn't find out until the day of the show that he was winning the NWA Title. He was said to be frustrated when wrestlers warned him that his title reign would likely be a short one, since everyone expects Jeff Jarrett to win the title either before the show debuts on FSN or shortly thereafter... A.J. Styles was upset with Jeff Jarrett because of the cut he received from Jarrett's guitar shot. Although Styles calmed down quickly, wrestlers point out that Jarrett has a history of being reckless with guitar and chair shots. One incident that wrestlers recalled was when Jarrett split open D-Lo Brown's head on a TNA pay-per-view... Surprisingly, TNA officials are said to have very little interest in Sean O'Haire... Wrestlers who figure to gain the most from Jimmy Hart's involvement are said to be Jonny Fairplay and Konnan, whom Hart is high on... One rumor that TNA officials have been spreading is that Ultimate Warrior called them looking for work recently. No word as to whether TNA officials actually plan to use him or not... Antonio Pena was supposed to be backstage at the May 19 show, but he apparently missed his flight... TNA officials are planning to use a charter flight to transport the wrestlers from Nashville to Orlando for the weekly TV tapings. The idea of chartering a bus for the travel was discussed, but company officials decided that it would put too much of a strain on the talent prior to the show... Wrestlers say Monty Brown handles himself well in backstage situations. They add that he doesn't have the "big shot football player mentality" that some former NFL'ers turned wrestlers have developed. "He just does whatever Dutch tells him," said one wrestler... Sean Waltman is interested in returning to wrestling, and if WWE doesn't hire him, he may end up in TNA. He is a longtime family friend of the Jarretts and would be seen as someone with national name recognition as they begin airing on FSN nationally. TNA officials, especially the Jarretts because of their friendship to him, did feel burned by him last year when he missed some scheduled appearances, didn't communicate well with them, and eventually disappeared from contact, although if he showed them that his personal issues that affect him then were no longer an issue, they have enough history with each other where a reconciliation would be possible...
-
Raven was also involved in booking when TNA had it's most momentum as well back in those first few months of 2003. Too bad he quit because of the pressure. I'd like to see Raven, Russo, and I guess Shane Douglas as the booking committee. The Jarretts and Mantel should not be involved.
-
The lineup for tonight's show is pretty good. Who's watching? Here is hoping Kanyon debuts.

Ron Killings=new champ.
