    80's Strike Back

That is fucking GREAT. Parker Lewis Can't Lose was a great show back in the day. Yeah, our one sign said "There's one difference between you drinking under the age of 21 and Parker Lewis.... PARKER LEWIS CAN'T LOSE." The Uncle Joey one had a picture of him with his arms folded and a condescending look and it said "Think about drinking if you are under 21? Well Uncle Joey Says CUT...IT...OUT!" It got some solid laughs. And as for the party in general, I was really fighting the urge to tell Mo Rocca about it here the other night, but by the time I got up to the front to have him autograph my ticket stub, he looked completely worn out and I decided to spare him.

Dudley Boyz, Kane and RVD all have their old in-house music and Stacy Keibler has something generic.

The arena itself is larger and the ramp is longer. RAW A is like in a small building and RAW B is like an MSG Show. Actually, Raw A IS Madison Square Garden. Royal Rumble is the FleetCenter in Boston. I'm pretty sure SummerSlam was modeled after Nassau Coliseum. And WM is obviously Safeco.

    80's Strike Back

Yeah, I thought they were jumping the gun with that too... Then again, who am I to talk? My roommate and I threw an "I Love the 90s" party here a couple weeks ago, complete with 90s music, poster with our own cheesy "I Love the 90s" logo and signs with Uncle Joey from Full House and Parker Lewis telling you not to drink if you are under 21.

    80's Strike Back

I just got back from a live show with Mo Rocca here at OU a couple hrs. ago... He talked a bit about the "I Love the ..." series... Basically, he thought Hal Sparks was absolutely hilarious and was disturbed by the incredible amount of worthless 80s stuff he has memorized (no scripts/clips needed for Sparks... He just started firing away with stuff, word for word). Rocca said that VH-1 tends to go into overkill with series, first with the all pop-up videos, now all lists shows. He also noted that they'll be doing an I Love the 90s series soon and that the "I Love the..." series will 'probably' be going on for a long time. Mo also got off a GREAT riff on "Murder She Wrote" that apparently got cut from the show, talking about the ridiculous crime rate in the BFE town in New England where Angela Lansbury lived on the show (I can't remember it word for word and to try to quote it wouldn't do it justice). Also, Rich Eisen was here back in January. While the "I Love the 80s" hadn't come out yet when he was here, I can definitely tell you that he's every bit as funny live, if not more. He went for 2 solid hours on stage, mostly just answering questions from the crowd (I was really impressed with his improv skills). Rocca and Eisen both ruled it here on campus and I like them both on the I Love the 80s shows. Also, being a huge Ed mark, I'm a fan of Michael Ian Black too. One thing I didn't understand was MIB's chyron acknowledged he was from Ed, but Leslie Boone (aka "Molly Hudson" on Ed) was just listed as "actress." Huh?

    It would have been perfect

That's a wonderful promo. Too bad it makes the wrong guy look good in WWE land.

    Raw rating drops

I'm not saying he is. For that matter, I'm not sure the guys on the other side of my point are draws either. I think way too much emphasis goes into the quarter-hour breakdowns.

    Raw rating drops

So when a segment with Benoit or Angle or Jericho is the top-rated segment of the night, everyone in here rushes to point out these guys are big-time draws that need to be pushed more. When Shane McMahon's segment is the highest draw of the night, everyone says that it was because that segment drove viewers away for the rest of the night, making the Shane segment No. 1 by default. You can't have it both ways.

THIS GAME IS AWESOME! A few things... 1. I really like the submission system. The fight between submitting and getting to the ropes is pretty sweet. 2. I love how when you wrestle in the SmackDown set, you get the SmackDown ref. 3. Hell in the Cell is MUCH improved. I still don't like the ricockulously fast climb up the cage wall, but when you fall off or jump off the cell, you PAY THE PRICE. All in all, I like what I see so far... I can already tell my grades are going up in flames this quarter.

Say what you will about DiBiase, but I will go to war against anyone who can honestly tell me they don't think DiBiase has the greatest laugh ever.

    The Texas Chainsaw Massacre...

Ah, but if you had YOUR head buried in HER chest.... THEN you'd be on to something. And I just got back a couple hrs ago from seeing TCM tonight... Wasn't really as scary as I thought it would be... A few major plot holes annoyed the shit out of me. It was far from being the worst horror flick I've seen, but nothing about it really made it jump out at me as being the best, either.

If they just had a game with solid gameplay and online capability it would be off the charts. All the bells and whistles we expect on top of that would be considered a bonus at that point.

Do they not understand entrances are half the fun of choosing a wrestler? You NEED that music. I mean, why go to the trouble of bringing the legends down in the SWANK~! ring carts if you are going to half-ass their theme music? For as much as it pisses people off when they don't include a current wrestler's actual theme, I can't believe they're not going to have the classic wrestlers' theme. They're killing half the fun.

    Favorite Looney Tunes feud

I always loved how in the Foghorn-Dog cartoons, Foghorn would draw a line in the dirty just as far as the dog's leash would go. He then would go taunt the dog, run behind the line and as soon as the dog got there- WHAM! Smacked him right in the face with a 2x4. Now that's good fun.

    Interviews with morons

I like how in one interview, Buff is talking about how much money he needs to cover necessary expenses, and then in the next interview, Vito is talking about watching DVDs on Buff's portable DVD player.

That tie has purple stripes, but good point about other costumes. And as for DiBiase's music, that HAS to be a clip from an old version or something. Seriously, he didn't have licensed music... That was in-house stuff (and DAMN GOOD in-house stuff at that). There's no reason they'd have licensing issues getting that song in.

    SportsCenter just got burned!

6 p.m. SportsCenter, Dan Patrick is interviewing "That Fan"... Steve Bartman (or so he thinks) live on the air. Questions are going along fine, then they get to the last one and Patrick goes: "Do you think you'll be able to live in Chicago after this?" 'Bartman' responded: "Do you like Howard Stern's BUTT cheeks?" Dead silence for like five seconds, then Patrick looks at the camera and goes, "We've been duped." And then a commercial. SportsCenter just got burned by an impostor live on the air. BWAH HA HA HA HA HA

    Big Smackdown Spoiler

This kinda throws a monkey wrench in the seemingly obvious "Austin's team loses at SurSer, then he goes to SD" idea, now doesn't it?

Rob Conway trying to be Rock 98

What is so funny about this is the fact that Triple-Groin has 1/4 of the talent that Flair has NOW, let along back in the day. I wouldn't go THAT far in comparing the two, but yeah, to some degree I agree with you. My point is that to try to be successful, HHH has tried to become Ric Flair. How good he is at doing that is up to your best judgment, but I can't fault the guy for his taste in role models.

Rob Conway trying to be Rock 98

Considering the Rock went on to win 7 WWE titles and then become a multi-million dollar movie star, I'd say Conway could do worse as far as guys to pattern a style after. Same reason I can't fault HHH for trying to emulate Ric Flair. ... and for the record, Marvin, I do a DAMN FINE People's Eyebrow, thank you very much.

How bout that commercial on Raw? "No, Brock, we ALL win." Yes, I'll definitely be feeling like a winner when a copy of this game finds its way to my apartment.
