Did Hanie look as good as his stats say? 9/16 (56%) for 101 yards and 1 TD. 2 carries for 21 yards.

His season last year was that good? I guess I stand corrected. With all the Matt Leinart bullshit going on, I'm starting to wonder if Arizona would be making a mistake not playing Warner then, if that's the case. Or has he pretty much hit the ceiling as far as winning goes? Warner probably has a ceiling of 8-9 wins whereas Leinart has a similar ceiling but is younger. Last season, Warner only went 5-6 (God bless Pro Football Reference) and he also threw 17 INT in only 451 attempts. Matt Leinart went 3-2 in his five starts.

Can't find a working, adequate picture. DT Henry Thomas 6'2" and 277 lbs. of equal nastiness while playing alongside John Randle at Minnesota. A beast capable of 80+ tackles and 8-9 sacks a season. Only made the pro bowl 2 times but probably deserved more trips.

I'm not. He's got the stats, but he is the (not one of, THE) biggest negative play machine in NFL history as the active leader in sacks and the career leader in INTs and fumbles, saving his biggest blunders for the biggest moments. It's just that a lot of people choose to selectively forget those things when they should play a pretty big bearing on the legacy he will leave. And to add onto this... Favre played in an extremely friendly offense for most of his career that helped pad his stats. People complain that a QB coming out of college padded his stats but that's exactly what Favre did too. He's had 6 seasons with 570+ pass attempts! He had a career high of 607 and then 613 in 2005 and 2006 (Where he added 38 TD and over 7,000 yards to his totals). His career low in attempts is 471... 1992 and 2003.

Wow... Cleveland could've had for an offense: QB: Kurt Warner RB: Terry Allen and Harold Green FB: Daryl Johnston WR: Michael Jackson and Robert Brooks Granted, no real shakes but it would've been light years ahead of the crap they were putting together.

Matt Cassel didn't exactly play like he wanted to retain his backup job... 1 INT and 1 Fumble on a Rollout Left (Recovered/Sack) and up & down accuracy wise. Curious to see how O'Connell does.

As a Patriots fan... I swear, Chad is the perfect back-up QB that will come in when the starter goes down and play well for 5-7 games. I decided to compare the past 4 seasons (healthy when applicable) after seeing randomguy's "pick machine" comment. Brett Favre: 96 TD vs. 79 INT. He's thrown fewer than 16 INT just twice since 1996... 2001 and 2007 with 15. Tom Brady: 128 TD vs. 48 INT Peyton Manning: 139 TD vs. 43 INT Drew Brees: 105 TD vs. 51 INT Eli Manning (3 Years): 71 TD vs. 55 INT Carson Palmer: 104 TD vs. 63 INT Donovan McNabb: 84 TD vs. 30 INT Jeff Garcia: 51 TD vs. 28 INT Chad Pennington: 56 TD vs. 46 INT Jake Delhomme: 89 TD vs. 58 INT Matt Hasselbeck: 92 TD vs. 51 INT Marc Bulger: 70 TD vs. 46 INT Ben Roethlisberger: 84 TD vs. 54 INT

Even in college Hart had that NFL "grind it out & run over somebody doing it" mentality despite looking slow. I'm still surprised he fell to the 6th (expected a 4th at latest). Same with Brennan simply because he was so frickin' accurate over his career, which should not be overlooked (offensive system or not).

Colt goes 4/4 for 68 yards with a couple sweet throws in there (also taking a sack but moving up in the pocket to take it...). My man crush grows larger.

LT Jim Lachey Finishing up my offensive line with a guy who played under Joe Gibbs and blocked for their dominant period of the late 80's and early 90's. He has mammoth size at 6'6" and 294 lbs. and protected Mark Rypien (16 sacks in 1989, 6 in 1990, and 7 in 1991).

RG Jerry Kramer He played alongside Forrest Gregg in GB and he'll play alongside him on my team too. Blocked for Bart Starr and Paul Hornung while being coached by Vince Lombardi. Solid size at 6'3" and 250 lbs. with some speed to run outside on sweeps and option runs.

Watching him on his back? Watching him throw INTs? Yeah, he got mauled by Georgia but the Redskins O-Line is a smidge better than the Hawaii team. I'm more interested in seeing how his release and accuracy translate to Zorn's West Coast Offense.

    Broadway Brett beats retirement!

Well, keep in mind that those players who were "thrown away" by Belichick didn't retire first, come back expecting the Patriots to hand them their starting job, and then whine that they wanted to play for the Jets/Bills/Dolphins just to stick it to him (or the organization). I completely understand wanting to stick it to past organizations but Brett Favre retired. He walked away. So, the Packers promoted Rodgers to starter and drafted 2 quarterbacks. Suddenly, Brett comes back and wants to be the starter again (also saying he doesn't want to be a backup and doesn't want to be traded unless it's to a winner). Favre is coming off as a total jerk in this scenario and thinking about taking the $20 Million is just further proof when he has a chance to be traded to the New York Jets instead but doesn't want to because they likely wouldn't make the playoffs and he can't play Green Bay. I guess I'm more amazed at the audacity of Brett, as if expecting the club to bend over backwards for his demands is realistic whilst stating within those demands that he wants to go to a division rival if he doesn't get his way.

"My intentions have been to play, and with Green Bay," Favre told ESPN. "They say no, so I still want to play in this division for obvious reasons, which I made clear to management. If they won’t let me play in Green Bay, let me play against you. That’s where I am." Is he serious? Un-fucking-believable... So, he wants to play for Green Bay but if he doesn't get his way and gets released or traded instead, he wants to go to a division rival so he can get his personal revenge/satisfaction out when he plays against them? I think I'm flabbergasted at the sheer gall on display there. He's basically asking the team to send him to a division rival so he can win games over his former team and cause his former fans misery by leading the Bears or Vikings to wins, just because he wants to "play" in Green Bay in any way possible.

Technically, he played FS from 1993-1998 though he did play CB his rookie year (and had 37 tackles).

From a Bucs Blog Quarterback Jeff Garcia was injured Thursday during a non-contact passing drill. The extent of his right leg injury is unknown. Garcia seemed to be in some discomfort after rolling out and throwing a pass during a non-contact receiving drill. He was carted off the field and limped precariously to the locker room.

What would have me leery is that Grant could be a one time wonder who was completely off the radar and only started due to injuries. Here are the final end of year rankings of his opponents in Run D (Yards) Denver: 30 Kansas City: 28 Minnesota: 1 (Ran for 119 Yards on 25 Carries) Would've needed at least 21 carries to break 100 yards. Carolina: 18 Detroit: 23 Dallas: 6 (Ran for 94 yards on 14 carries) Oakland: 31 St. Louis: 20 (Only ran for 55 Yards) Chicago: 24 Seattle: 12 Wow... I didn't realize just how easy his schedule had been. Only 3 teams inside the Top 18(!) He also played against 3 of the last 5 teams in the NFL in rushing yards allowed. Brandon Jackson/DeShawn Wynn/Vernand Morency Week 1: Philadelphia (7) Week 2: New York Giants (8) Week 3: San Diego (16) Week 4: Minnesota (1) Week 5: Chicago (24) DeShawn Wynn had 13 carries for 78 yards and Vernand Morency had 9 carries for 43 yards (22 for 121) Week 6: Washington (4)

Chicago released QB Nick Hill So it looks like Caleb Hanie is their current #3. Also Tennessee is bringing in QB Byron Leftwich for a look (or they're thinking about it).

    The NFL All-Time Draft.

I wouldn't call him a reach... Peyton Manning (10 seasons) - 1 SB Ring - Has a career 64.2% completion rate while leading the league in pass attempts only once (his rookie year) - Has never thrown for less than 3,700 yards in a season - Has never thrown for fewer than 26 TD in a season - Had a 4 year stretch with 137 TD vs. 39 INT - Has been sacked an average of 19 times a season... rivals Dan Marino in that regard. - In his career (only 10 seasons) he has already won 105 games with only 2 losing seasons. That's with 2 different head coaches. Compare to Joe Montana... (15 Seasons) - 4 SB Rings - Career 63.2% completion rate while leading the league in pass attempts only once - Had 6 seasons throwing for more than 3,500 yards - Had 6 seasons over 26 TD - 4 Year Peak saw (excluding his 8 game 1986): 112 TD vs. 48 INT - Had 6 seasons where he was sacked over 25 times (in far fewer pass attempts) - From 1980 - 1990 Montana won 118 games and had only 2 losing seasons. The big differences seem to be the SB Rings and the fact that Manning plays in a pass happy era (along with free agency). In a way, the pass happy era makes the numbers Manning has put up both more impressive in regards to sacks and INT as one would expect with more pass attempts, more sacks and INT, but also because the defenses know to expect the pass and defend it and yet Manning is still putting up staggering numbers. Montana was also playing in, what some would call, a "revolutionary" offense that helped boost Montana's completion percent more than if he had played in a traditional offense during that era. Each had things that 'favored' them and both utilized those for their own benefits.

If I were the Packers, I'd tell Grant to just STFU and earn the contract first. Argument: "He had a great season!" Guess what this guy did in games 1-5? 6 Carries! From Week 6 - 16 (11 games): 176 carries for 872 yards. Week 17: 6 carries for 57 yards. So he essentially played well for 11 games... and topped 100 yards in only 5 of those. Hell, he only had 6 games where he topped more than 18 carries. Brandon Jackson had a pretty good Week 17 against an out of it Detroit team (20 for 113). Argument: "He blew up against Seattle!!!!" Yeah? 13 carries for 29 yards against the New York Giants in the NFC Championship. He basically put up similar numbers to Laurence Maroney... while being 25 years old and already whining about a contract. The agent sounds like a moron if he could only get Grant a contract with $10,280 in bonus money for 2007 ($310,000 base salary). DeShawn Wynn was making almost $51,000 in bonus money and Vernand Morency was making almost $573,000 in bonus money. Some guy named Ryan Powdrell was making $285,000 base with a $15,000 bonus.
