  1. The rankings once again are altered as Rhode Island upset #15 Maine 3-0. Liberty's also leading #22 Coastal Carolina 13-7 entering the 4th quarter and Towson is beating #25 Delaware 21-14 as they're about to enter the half.
  2. Any idea what the record is for most assists with a goal?
  3. Martin St. Louis scored a hat trick in the 2nd period in the span of less than 7 minutes including 1 unassisted goal just 1:45 after his 2nd goal... now that's nice.
  4. Tonight is GAME 1 between the Bruins and Canadians... Go Bruins Go! And as usual I get to follow the game on the internet thanks to work... damn scheduling.
  5. Philadelphia - 20 points Green Bay (3.5) Atlanta New Orleans (2.5) Houston Jacksonville Seattle San Francisco Tampa Bay St. Louis Indianapolis N.Y. Jets Oakland Carolina (5.5) (2.5) New England
  6. I was bored so I compiled a list of games where I-AA teams either won or lost by at maximum 7 to I-A teams thus far this season to help give an idea of how good I-AA teams can be. Wins over I-A teams (6 games) Montana State b. Colorado 19-10 Richmond b. Duke 13-0 Portland State b. New Mexico 17-6 New Hampshire b. Northwestern 34-17 Southern Illinois b. Indiana 35-28 North Dakota State b. Ball State 29-24 Losses by 7 points or less (7 games) Kansas State b. Illinois State 24-23 Navy b. Massachusetts 21-20 Idaho b. Idaho State 27-24 South Carolina b. Wofford 27-20 North Carolina b. Furman 45-42 Iowa State b. Northern Iowa 28-27 Minnesota b. North Dakota State 10-9 Interesting to note that North Dakota State appeared on both lists.
  7. I'd say there's definitely some legitimacy in terms of rising up (usually) the rankings in terms of a I-AA team squaring off against a I-A team. Very rarely do ranked teams see a huge slide (maybe 3-5 spots depending on if it's a blowout). Games like Illinois State hanging with Kansas State, UMass hanging with Navy, and Weber State beating Colorado State were all impressive ranking wise but in the end, it's a I-AA division and if you don't compete well against the I-AA teams then it's all for naught (e.g. Weber State who are 2-5 on the season). You'll see that a lot of I-AA vs. I-A games where games are close/upsets occur tend to involve teams that are ranked in the Top 25 in I-AA as well. Just to highlight ranking help: Illinois State is currently #3, UMass is #4, North Dakota State is #6 (up from #9 last week) and New Hampshire is #11 after 2 straight losing weeks while still beating Northwestern earlier.
  8. Several big games in the I-AA division this week... Here's hoping the upsets continue fast and furious. Ohio Valley Conference Game: #14 Eastern Illinois (3-3) @ #12 Tennessee-Martin (5-1) Gateway Conference Game: #10 Youngstown State (5-1) @ #3 Illinois State (4-1) Atlantic 10 Conference Game: #5 James Madison (4-1) @ #13 Richmond (4-1) Southern Conference Game: #8 Furman (4-2) @ #1 Appalachian State (5-1)
  9. Yeah, I caught the More Scarier Moments and thought it was neat seeing some films like Cabin Fever as well as older "unknowns" like The Hand That Rocks the Cradle. 10. Anyway, on VH1 there was a show called Celebrity Paranormal featuring celebrities like Hal Sparks, Gary Busey, and Donna d'Errico. They investigated the Waverly Hills Sanitorium and some of the stuff was wicked creepy including the shadow kid on the rooftop that Hal saw as well as the screaming (most significantly, the one where Hal was doing the spirit writing and both he and Jenna Morasca were absolutely silent during it.) Also the footsteps and the brief shadow image that Donna seen was weird, kinda wish they had EVP'd the place or used the wide angle cameras a bit more during the presentation. Extremely reminiscent of MTV's "Fear" for whomever were fans of that show.
  11. Sadly the tiebreaker doesn't matter cause Starvenger won 3 of the matchups...damn yous! *shakes fist*
  12. I-AA football's universe internally imploded today with the freaking number of upsets. (UR) South Dakota State b. #4 Cal Poly (UR) Western Kentucky b. #13 Southern Illinois #14 Northern Iowa b. #5 Youngstown State (UR) Ark-Pine Bluff b. #20 Alabama State (UR) Northeastern b. #7 New Hampshire (UR) South Carolina State b. #11 Hampton #22 Princeton b. #15 Harvard (UR) Central Arkansas b. #25 Sam Houston State (UR) Delaware b. #10 Richmond
  13. Boston's performance was mostly abysmal, especially on defense in their own zone. They kept getting exploited individually or as a team in general by a much faster team in Buffalo. Didn't help that Hanu let in a couple easy goals. On the bright side, Kessel scored his first career goal.
  14. Here are a couple players who've been hyped as being potential #1 picks... 1: C Angelo Esposito (6'0", 178 lbs.) - Has put up 24 points in 13 games in the QMJHL thus far, including 18 assists. 2: C Logan Couture (6'0", 191 lbs.) - Has 5 assists in 5 games for 5 points. Here's a link to a good thread on the Top 15 prospects in the 2007 Draft: http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=29260...hlight=esposito
  15. Philadelphia - 27 Carolina N.Y. Jets (3.5) Green Bay (9.5) Jacksonville (5.5) New England (5.5) Philadelphia (2.5) Pittsburgh (5.5) San Diego (5.5) Denver (3.5) Arizona Seattle (7.5) Washington Dallas (3.5) I feel so dirty taking so many teams on the over.
  16. Bruins finally opening at home, going up against the Flames. GO B's GO! Even if you're currently 1-4 with no freaking defense to speak of and no toughness from the forwards...

    Tiki Barber

How do Tiki Barber and Warrick Dunn compare? I remember Dunn being a similar back when with TB and early with the Falcons.
  18. Big I-AA games of the week. #15 Harvard vs. #22 Princeton #9 North Dakota State vs. Minnesota #14 Northern Iowa vs. #5 Youngstown State
  19. I'm currently leading my matchup 4-3 and need Arizona lose by 11 or less to win the matchup outright and move to 5-1. If Chicago wins handily, both of our TB scores were 3 points off so it'd likely be scored a tie.
  20. Philadelphia - 21 Detroit Baltimore (3.5) (6.5) Cincinnati Dallas (13.5) N.Y. Giants (3.5) Philadelphia (3.5) Seattle Tennessee Pittsburgh (6.5) N.Y. Jets (2.5) San Francisco Oakland Arizona
  21. Sucks to see and hear:(
  22. I'm currently 2-3 in Flik's league where last week byes hit me hard as I was without Alge Crumpler or Darrell Jackson. Didn't help that Pennington did so abysmally either. I'm currently 2-2-1 in the TSM 2 league where the QB scoring is practically negligible given the sacks.
  23. Looks like the point spreads helped me to win, nice to see I'm 4-1 now.
  24. Also penalties helped kill the Bruins too. 4 of those goals by Florida came on the power play and they had 5 of the 8 team penalties in the 3rd period.
  25. Philadelphia: 24 Chicago (7.5) Carolina (8.5) Detroit New England (10.5) (3.5) St. Louis Tampa Bay Tennessee N.Y. Giants (4.5) (3.5) Kansas City N.Y. Jets San Francisco (3.5) Philadelphia (2.5) Pittsburgh Denver (4.5)
