  1. Agent, you should check out Can. I'd rather listen to krautrock than prog rock.

  3. I have trouble believing they were the same people, too. I seem to recall Prince Paul's writing style differing from The New Me's.
  4. Yet my most popular creation, overshadowing the infinitely superior Schwimmer gimmick (not to be confused with my present screenname) that predates Whiskers by a couple of months. Are you talking about me? I'm talking about me. What the hell are you thinking?
  5. Thanks a lot, Czech Republic! Now everyone's gonna needlessly bump ancient threads.
  6. I don't miss Davy. His gimmick was more interesting/entertaining than him.
  7. It's because they don't cut corners!!!!!!...I guess You bumped this thread to make a joke that someone else in the thread already made. Over two years ago.
  8. Van Halen is overrated? Outside of mainstream rock circles? I'm surprised by its inclusion, anyway. I assumed that the three classic rock radio staples that have already appeared on the list—Young, Zeppelin and Floyd—would be the only ones to make a showing. I guess I forgot Hendrix had an album in the 70s. As for albums on 100-61 that I currently own (an actual copy; not including albums I've heard via other people/filesharing), there are eight: 92. Kraftwerk - The Man Machine 89. Devo - Q: Are We Not Men? A: We are Devo! 85. Wire - 154 81. David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars 74. Leonard Cohen - Songs of Love and Hate 71. James Brown - The Payback 66. Big Star - Third/Sister Lovers 65. Neil Young - On the Beach
  9. It should be noted that I respect Fripp and Co., but King Crimson bores me relentlessly.

  11. I've never said anything on this board in jest.
  12. Yeah, I just posted in the Music folder. The number didn't change.
  13. Posts per day 10685.4
  14. Indie-tastic http://www.pitchforkmedia.com started their ranking of the best albums of the 70s today. 100-61 are up, and there's a lot more prog and classic rock radio nods than one might expect.
  15. What's the highest the number will go.
  16. reoccuring dreams > dreams reoccuring
  17. I'm gonna reach 13,000 one of these days.
  18. Everyone should just shut up about Whiskers.
  19. Some people develop acne problems later in life.
  20. Oh, awesome, I have more posts now.
  21. He is a member of my super secret message board, so yeah, he's made an impact.

    Buying Music

There's a decent independently owned store here in town; reasonably priced, plus, if they don't have what you want, they'll order it and it'll arrive fairly quickly (even a lot of the obscure stuff I listen to). The problem is that it's a 20 minute drive, a trip I rarely have the time or energy for. Generally, I hit up Best Buy for the mainstream stuff (or higher profile indie acts; I got the new Wilco there yesterday), or pester one of the couple of people I know at Borders into letting me use their discount (for the indie, jazz and folk music BB never carries). Occasionally, I'll order online at http:www.cduniverse.com
  23. How can that be construed as anything but?
  24. There are people with five-to-ten times as many posts as us, yet have not made the impact on this board that we have. Quality over quantity.
