  1. Highlight of the RF joke bonanza at www.scotsmanality.com- "Why did Feinstein check himself into the Betty Ford Center? To get treatment for his 14-year-old crack addiction."
  2. Christ... I don't think anyone in Hollywood actually knows that the original Prince of Persia game was actually based on the old movie "The Thief of Baghdad." This is, in effect, another remake that doesn't need to be made, although the Prince of Persia name DOES actually give a reason to doing it, unlike such recent studio brainfarts as remaking Charade (as The Truth About Charlie) and Rollerball. It still doesn't mean it's a good idea but it means there will be a minimum audience who will show up because of the name.
  3. I'd say that the trouble won't be from the fans as much as in booking arenas. Considering how ugly the infighting is between ROH, 3PW, and CZW, who WOULDN'T expect Zandig or Jasmine St. Claire to call every arena that ROH has ever considered running and asking them how they feel about letting a promotion associated with a person who was part of a Internet child molestation expose. They've already had problems with keeping arenas around Boston because of "concerned citizen" calls about the content of their show, so this IS a legitimate concern for them. I figure they'll only lose a small percentage of their ticket sales... at first. 3/13 will probably go off for them with about 800-1000 in attendance (800 pre-sold tickets already announced) but their next show could see a marked change in the number of tickets sold, especially if there are serious questions about ROH being able to book a venue and KEEP the show there. As for video sales, it depends on everything going on. Even if RF Video stays open, there are questions about whether people would want to buy from them on moral reasons AND whether they'd expect to see their merchandise, which hasn't been much of a problem lately but WOULD be a big concern if it looked like RF was going to be in more trouble. On talent, I'd say that no wrestlers (or VERY few) will pull out of the 3/13 show. Depending on how things are handled after that, I could see several wrestlers "accidentally" booking another show on the same day as an ROH show as a way of staying out of the controversy until it is resolved. The only wrestler to come out against ROH so far is Lo Ki, who was not expected to come back anyway, while CM Punk has reaffirmed his committment to ROH while expressing his disgust at RF himself. In summary, I'd say that things will get VERY tough for ROH soon, although not enough that they'd have to shut down anytime soon. More accurately, they'll probably backslide to where they were in late 2002, when they weren't drawing HUGE numbers of fans but were making enough money to continue operations.
  4. I'd say that Kerry's sole appeal is that he is NOT George W. Bush. Outside of that, I personally feel he's a half-assed candidate at best based solely on electoral geography. Massachussets, Kerry's home state, is a Democrat stronghold, which means that they won't pick up the incumbent bonus of winning a state that could be a battleground. On top of that, the Dems picked up the entire region of New England, minus New Hampshire, so Kerry gives no regional bonus. Maine is the only state that was even CLOSE to going to Bush besides New Hampshire. Kerry may also have trouble keeping some of the states that Gore won by tight margins in 2000. These include Oregon (Gore won the 7 Electoral Votes (EV) by 7000 votes in 2000.), Minnesota (10 EV by 60,000, or 2%), Wisconsin (11 EV by 5,000, or 0.21%), New Mexico (5 EV by a mere 300 votes, or 0.07%), and Iowa (7 EV by 4,000 votes, or 0.32%). Outside of a major coup in a battleground state like Florida or Ohio, Kerry's going to need a VP that will give him a chance in a state he really needs or ensures he keeps a state that he's in danger of losing. The top two names thrown around as VP candidates for this reason are John Edwards (SC), whom you all know, and Bill Richardson (NM). (As mentioned before, New Mexico went for Gore by a mere 300 votes in 2000.) Bill Clinton's name has come up as a VP candidate but I think electoral law will prohibit that from happening, as the Constitution now says that a President can only serve two terms and, by having Bubba as VP, he'd be in position to re-assume the White House if something happened to Kerry.
  5. I'll be the first to say that my state (Louisiana) is fucked when it comes to elections, especially on the state level. However, on the federal level, the only times Louisiana hasn't gone Republican since the days of Reagan were when Clinton ran. (To clarify, LA went Republican in 80, 84, 88, 2000. Democrat in 92, 96) Also, if they knew anything about the Louisiana state elections, they'd know that Senator Mary Landrieu won in 1996 by about 1% or less and that it was also tight in 2002, although she pulled out a victory over Susanne Haik-Terrel. Because of this, Landrieu's had to straddle a LOT of party lines in order to ensure she would be re-elected. In addition, Governor Kathleen Blanco also won by a slim margin (52-48) and has been rather unpopular since her election, getting jeered at MANY events since her election including the 2004 Sugar Bowl when she appeared and in absentia at the LSU national title celebration when Lt. Governor Mitch Landrieu mentioned her name. There have also been allegations that Republican candidate Bobby Jindal lost votes to Blanco because he is of Indian decent (eastern India, not Native American). That factor won't weigh into a race between a southern Republican and a New England Democrat. Given everything that's happened over the last few years in LA and its historical election trends, I see Dubya picking up the state by a slim margin. And, yes, I'm rather conservative by nature but I'd say the indicators are all there for a Dubya victory anyway.
  6. This is NOT a case of someone thinking that 16-year old Bobbi Jo Blowjob of Livingston Parish, LA is 18 or older because he met her in a club... this is someone who was TOLD SPECIFICALLY the age of the person involved and moved ahead anyway. As for 17-year old girlfriends that you mentioned in another thread, that is not considered pedophilia because 17 is a legal age of majority in many states. It's also not considered cool depending on the age of the boyfriend/girlfriend involved, as it looks bad when a 40+ Jerry Seinfeld or 60+ Jack Nicholson is schtupping someone who is just reaching the age to vote.
  7. Makes me glad that I got the last of my tapes from RF yesterday... Hopefully something else will come up by the time I go through the rest of my shoots and the ones I'm going to order from Highspots.
  8. From the Torch article Rob Feinstein, founder of Ring of Honor along with partner *Gabe Sapolsky*, was subject of an underage sex sting operation investigation by Philadelphia's NBC10 news station. This is the first time I've heard Gabe's name come up in conjunction with the investigation, other than as the ROH booker.
  9. That is just SO fucking wrong right there...
  10. More on RF, Bob Barnett, and Vampiro: http://thesmartmarks.com/artman/publish/article_529.shtml [/blatant plug]
  11. JCW 3 was fine for the most part but the Madman Pondo vs. Necro Butcher match turned my fucking stomach... it was like a scene from a bad horror movie like Friday The 13th. The rest of it was pretty funny though.
  12. 1. He attacked a police officer in a nightclub (The cop was trying to kick his wife out and he took exception to it, IIRC) 2. He was sloppy in the ring, hurting or almost hurting several people during beatdowns including Pat Patterson IIRC. 3. He had a bad attitude With the troubles the company has had over the last few years, #1 was the big reason and the combo of #2 and #3 sealed the deal.
  13. "He says the sherrif is near!" "No, gonsarnit... the SHERIFF is a NI****" (Church bells ring)
  14. Why bother overthrowing Cuba these days? It had a point back in the 60s when he was in cahoots with the Russians during the Cold War, but now he's just an ineffectual old man who's barely keeping the country together. He'll probably die sometime soon, at which point we'll find out how dedicated the rest of his commie government is.
  15. Oregon State will already be playing LSU next season, although I have to check on the week. Maybe they're trying to pull out after they didn't get the deal they wanted, which was 2 games at LSU and 1 at OSU, instead of the 1 game at LSU and the big-ass payoff. Never mind... the LSU-Oregon St. game is on Sept. 4.
  16. The mayor of SF is accusing Dubya of political showmanship on the subject of gay marriages. Pot? Meet Kettle.
  17. Goddammit... I want the rest of the games from the PS1 run of Midway arcade ports. The ones I know of that didn't make the cut for Arcade Treasures were Moon Patrol (licensed from Irem), Crystal Castles, and Gauntlet 2. I'd also be interested in several other games that haven't been ported successfully to a console before, such as APB. The only home version of APB that I know of was for the Atari Lynx handheld system. The Tron series would make this an INSTANT buy but I don't think they want to pay Disney for the rights to release it as a home version. As for the already announced games, MK 1 and MK 2 both rule and it would be GREAT to finally get a version of NARC that wasn't total ass like the NES version. I can live without Total Carnage but it isn't a bad addition to the set.
  18. Some coaches are as good as they're thought to be, especially on the college level where they have more control over who plays for them and in what position. In the pros, it's a combination of the coach and the GM. The effects of a coach are easiest to judge when they replace a previous coach and run their plans using the players he/she inherits. A good example of this would be Jack McKeon (sp?) of the Marlins, who came in at mid-year and turned a cellar dwellar into the World Series champ. Another example of this would be the current Nets coach, as he took over for Byron Scott and went on a long winning streak that was only snapped recently.
  19. Good riddance to Bubba the Love Sponge. As for the rest of them, I wish that Clear Channel hadn't come down as hard on Stern and hope that Walton and Johnson (southern radio program based in Houston) doesn't get in trouble. They don't do stuff that's TOO over the top like Bubba and company, but they do play songs like Denis Leary's "Asshole" and others that may get the FCC pissed at them.
  20. The mayor damn well knew what was involved when he did it and is grandstanding by making thousands of gay marriages. If he wanted to practice civil disobedience, he would have done a single one in front of a camera crew from CNN in order to have a test case. I personally have no objections to civil unions, which are marriages in all but name, but pushing for true gay marriages is asking for trouble at this day and time because it pisses a LOT of people off who would at least be tolerant, if not sympathetic, of civil unions. This is going to be one of those moments that gay activists will look at years from now, and they may end up saying "MAN they fucked things up by going too fast" because it appears to be causing a significant backlash towards gay marriages in particular and the gay lifestyle in general.

    SAT Score

Forgot about this until now but in my final semester of college, I took a standardized test comparing me against all the other graduating seniors in a business major... got in the 92nd percentile, which was pretty motherfuckin' good considering that my major was more computers than business and my alma mater is considered a bit of a joke compared to other schools involved such as Harvard.

    SAT Score

1220, IIRC. My HS GPA was a little over a 3 but I worked my ass off in college and finished up there with around a 3.6 and an Honors diploma as a result.
  23. I feel the same way. I think that explains why RF refuses to give me review copies like he will for SK...
  24. I just find it ironic that the LAST time we had a military hero who was injured in action facing off with an opponent with a, you know, ACTUAL military service problem, the service didn't seem to be ANYTHING resembling an issue. But it is now. Odd. -=Mike The reason it WASN'T an issue back then was that Bob Dole was very unlikable to many people and that the dishonorable shitbag from the state of Arkansas was bathed in Teflon as far as the left was concerned.
