Why would they put their careers on the line?
Also...after how great the Flair career match came off...I don't want to see them go back to that for a long time.
They weren't going to close with Orton holding the belt up. Not in a million years. If HHH was winning, then maybe the order and length of the matches would have differed.
I'm glad they went the way they did...because Orton (unlike HHH and Cena) has never walked out of Mania the champion, and Taker and Edge had the best match of the night...which is what I want in my main event.
Let's do star ratings (since some opinions appear to be very diverse...and I know snowflakes piss some people off)
Finlay/JBL **
MITB ***1/2
Batista/Umaga *
ECW Title DUD
Flair/Michaels ***** drama, *** match, ****
BunnyMania Whatever...it wasn't really bad I just don't know how to rate it. *1/4 just to piss off Batista
Triple Threat ***1/2
Floyd/Show ***
Taker/Edge ****1/2
Kane joining Undertaker would have been the equivelent of Chavo bringing a cruiserweight title to the ring when Eddie won the WWE title.
One of these things is not like the other. Not even close.
Michaels had done it a few times already.
Even was asked about it in an interview. He said he had to be the first one to do it so that everyone would kind of accept it as ok.
Why do you say that? Doesn't mean Punk's gonna cash it in right away
Nor should he. Edge and Van Dam were ready (coughOVERDUEcough) to get a shot at the top. The MITB has to be his new gimmick as he builds up with wins over more credible opponents.
