  1. See...I agree. That time limit gimmick could be perfect for someone like Roode or Storm. Let's just say Storm chickenshit heels up the title for months and they build up Kaz as just barely missing out time and time again. When he finally pins him that's awesome. No stupid storyline...just a reason to watch a segment or 2 a week....with guys that aren't the "big" names. That's how you get some people over without even having to try. If a million people are watching the TV and they're given a reason to care about something... Gee...I don't know.
  2. It starts at 7...so you'd miss half the show. (actually more than becuase they'll usually go off the air with 20 minutes to go of air time) But there's a replay right after that you should get when you order it. As for matches...hard to say exactly...but I'd bet that the ECW title match, money in the bank and JBL/Finlay are the first 3 matches in whatever order they do it in.
  3. I've always like the idea of a TV title if actually always and only defended on TV. It could change hands more often because it would be defended every week, wheras the others are only once a month. It also would get guys over just to see how long they could hold the thing. I realize there are nearly a dozen flaws with the concept...but I've always wanted it...dammit.
  4. I think he gets to be in charge whenever Cornette isn't there, storyline wise. Maybe they'll just have Cornette not appear.
  5. Oh I'd love to read that thread. Marvin and Leena discuss WrestleMania. BOOK IT!
  6. That's true. Mania weekend is probably the worst weekend to be suspended from the board.
  7. The problem is he can just take the weekend off. I say you don't let him out unless he posts in there and interacts with Leena. Best. Weekend. Ever.
  8. Alright...first of all what makes bps21 a very happy late/mid 20 year old boy: Steiner cashing in his Title shot at Sacrifice make me VERY VERY HAPPY. I believe Joe is winning at Lockdown...and I LOVED Steiner/Joe and thought that they ended it MUCH too soon. It's pretty much perfect. Really. Other stuff: Lethal Lockdown is now 5 on 5. Matt Morgan being the 5th man is somewhat surprising since I didn't think of him. Anyone wanna bet he's getting the push because he's going to be a Gladiator? I wonder what a "team Cage" shirt looks like?
  9. courtesy of PWInsider: Kaz defeated some jobber with a bullfighter cowboy gimmick. I believe this was a dark match. Robert Roode def. Black Machismo in a non-title match Show opens with the heels from team Tomko and the newest member of the team James Storm. Matt Morgan made the decision to allow a fifth member. Team cage came out and question Morgan's decision. Christian says advantage or disadvantage he has a trick up his sleeve. Backstage segment where Scott Steiner says he is going to cash in his title shot tonight. LAX and Motor City def. Rock and Rave and Black Reign and Rellik. The heels attacked after the match and Kaz tried to make the save but Super Eric cleared house. AJ Styles and Tomko def. Christian and Rhino by DQ after Rhino gored the Ref. Team 3D attacked but Nash made the save with a chair. Shark Boy def. Elix Skipper to advance to the Escape Match at Lockdown. Traci Brooks def. Peyton Banks. After the match Velvet Sky, Angelina Love, Salinas, Jackie Moore, Roxxi and Christy Hemme all got in the ring until Sharmell cleared ring. Kurt Angle comes down to the ring and says next week he wants Samoa Joe to sign a document saying that if he doesn't win at Lockdown he will never wrestle again. Scott Steiner interrupts and says that he is now going to use the title shot at Sacrifice against the winner of the title match at Lockdown. Sting def. James Storm. Matt Morgan was the guest ref. Morgan gave Sting the bat. Afterwards, Team Tomko confronted Morgan but Team Christian cleared the ring. Morgan then revealed a Team Cage shirt so he is now there as the fifth member.
  10. Video that LIVE Impact couldn't handle Anyone who saw Bound For Glory in October will remember Consequences Creed. He's the guy who replaced PacMan Jones in the TNA Tag Title loss to AJ Styles and Tomko. Upon his enterence I know I was scratching my head. Decked out like Apolo Creed circa Rocky 4 and dancing to the ring I thought we were in for another dose of patented TNA WrestleCrap. Surprisingly, Creed went out and had a nice showing. So nice, in fact, that TNA signed him to a contract and is now ready to bring him to the active roster (previous videos listed the date of Lockdown as his return date...the new video just says "2 weeks") So...it's a feel good story and a new wrestler who ISN'T a WWE castoff...which are both plusses. Who knows what they'll do with him...or how good he'll be (although I'm pretty impressed with how he carried himself put in a pretty tough spot on TNA's biggest show to date) but anyway... He highlights the problem that I've been having with TNA for a while. The lack of a midcard title. Eric Young, Robert Roode, James Storm, Kaz (since they don't use him as an X division guy at this point) and now Creed all fit a mold of nowhere to go. They aren't going to be X champions. They aren't in tag teams. They aren't going to be World champion. What is the point? Sure guys like Roode are billed as a future top guy...and hey...maybe. And he gets to work a long program with a big name...but they aren't going to be putting him in the title picture even if he were to win the feud. I thought for a long time that TNA didn't need another title...but given their penchant for not always defending the ones they have on tv or ppv with any regularity...maybe it wouldn't hurt. Think about this...If they decided to push Hernandez as a singles wrestler...they'd have no title for him to go after BUT the TNA title. Since they have trouble coming up with reasons for people to feud that make any sense as it is maybe just throwing a midcard title in the mix would take away some of the lunacy. They could always throw guys like Booker and Abyss and Steiner and who although seen as above a midcard title...aren't in the main event scene into the slot too. It could be a good way to seperate a guy that they want to move away from the X division too. Kaz would benefit alot by just having a goal other than sitting around waiting for another title shot that probably isn't coming. I know that 5 titles would be a lot...but they don't really use them all the time anyway. It could actually look good for the title if (in one of the many 6 man ppv matches that the World and Tag titles seem to be stuck in) the card had a title defense other than the specialized woman's and cruisers...er...x division. Thoughts?
  11. For this one case...I hope so.
  12. There's definitely a quetion of what Joe does if he wins the title. But...if AJ's going with Angle...I'll say Tomko's a good bet for a run with Joe. Based on the short hardhitting match they had on Impact a few weeks back...I'd be all for it. Too many faces in TNA. Of course...Nash could always turn on Joe. And he probably will.
  13. Maybe it's some of that old "don't upstage the top guys on the ppv" mentality. The mentality that makes me thing that JBL/Finlay won't be having a chance to rock at WrestleMania.
  14. Some of My favorite games that I've played on 360 are (in no particular order): Bioshock Rock Band Oblivion NHL 08 Saint's Row Condemned Also...from the Live Arcade: Jewel Quest Cloning Clyde PacMan Championship Edition Puzzle Quest Crystal Quest Wik Those were all fun. I also had a real good time with Bully...but you've already got that...
  15. First of all...it isn't what the company want's it to be. Were that the case, local indy fed with 4 18 year olds wrestling in the backyard can claim there's as a world title too. Actually...they do. But there's common sense reasons why no one else calls it that. Points of favor for the TNA title over the ECW title: 1. Unlike the ECW title (and for that matter the WWE and World titles since the end of the solo ppvs) the TNA title headlines it's own ppvs. 2. The TNA title headlines it's own house show tours. 3. The ECW title is at best, the 3rd best title in one company. How crazy are we going with World titles here?
  16. Yeah...hopefully they'll stay the course since I think Lockdown is going to do better for them than their usual ppvs since they haven't f'd up the build for the 2 main events yet.
  17. So they stop focusing on the soap opera stuff for a couple weeks and they get rid of comedy Angle...and the rating drops. *throws hands up*
  18. I may order it...but mostly out of habit. I'm just not feeling it. I don't know what it is...I assume it's the dread of seeing the same people on top after the show is over.
  19. They REALLY have to be careful not to piss of the crowd that night. They're reportedly set to draw their biggest house ever.
  20. Alright...I was meaning to do this last week...but shit happens. Lockdown is still a few weeks away and TNA has already put more thought and build into their Main Event than they generally ever do. There's been some scattered talk in the general discussion thread about the approach that TNA is taking with this match (doing more of an MMA style build with training features and hype videos as opposed to generic runins and pull aparts) and I think it's actually working out pretty well for them. The Angle segments seem to be pretty well recieved at least. I said in the byline that we should try to ignore that this match his happened 4 other times...but we really can't. Angle is 3-1 in the matches. They were all pretty decent (Angle/Joe II being the best...and not just because Joe won that one), but they haven't had a match in a while and well I always trust Joe to bring it...Angle has been looking much crisper and ready to go in the ring (His series with Christian being the most recent example (including good house show notices)...but even including Global Impact vs. Nagata and I'll throw in BFG vs. Sting). So I have no real doubt that the match won't make for a really good main event... But it's the build to the match that has been most intriguing to me. Some bullet points: 1. They finally took Angle back from comedy BS to serious ass kicker He's much better this way. With the goofy Karen stuff on the backburner Angle is able to come accross the way you want your champion to look...unbeatable. When he was on Pros vs. Joes he looked like an absolute monster...and I kept thinking...why don't they just do that on TV? When they did Global Impact his interviews were all about how he was the best and he took his match seriously...and I kept thinking...why don't they just do that on TV? Well...they've been doing both. 2. Samoa Joe leaves the Impact Zone I didn't know how I fealt about this when I heard it...but now I'm on board. Mostly because it forced TNA to come up with another way to build the match without having Joe and Angle interact with each other. When the company took their 2 biggest stars and main evented them on their biggest ppv...that should have been enough. Instead they had Kurt Angle attacking Sting's son and Kevin Nash playing his psychiatrist. Change is GOOD. 3. Karen Angle APPEARS to be out of the picture I'm taking this one on faith. I don't know where TNA managed to dig up enough for me to have faith in them...but they'll get one last (again) chance to do the right thing here. Anyway...it seems like they've been making it as obvious as they can without actually saying it that Karen won't play into the Lockdown match. She's obviously going to be the catalyst for Angle/Styles post Lockdown...but the way they've been going she wouldn't fit into what's going on in the Joe match. They've duped me into trusting them before...but they've surprised me by sticking to this more serious approach to the Joe/Angle match...so I'd HOPE they won't blow it with a sports entertainment finish. It would make less sense than ever. So we've got Angle preparing to prove that he is the better wrestler one on one against Joe. We've got Joe preparing for his do or die chance at the title. We've got a cage that I think actually will allow them to just have a straight match. And we've got TNA taking an approach to the match that they should have take the FIRST TIME they faced each other. Better late than never? Too little to late? Does the build (so far) for Angle/Joe V make you more interested in the match...or are you pretty sure that they'll either blow it in the next few weeks...or worse...at Lockdown?
  21. TNA fires back The link to the TNA filing is a pretty interesting read. According to TNA: 1. Konnan's signed contract prohibits him from suing them for his injuries. 2. He's suing for racial discrimination because they made him play...his same character he's had forever. 3. He continued to work for TNA and develop LAX storylines after his complaint events would have taken place. 4. He's also suing because he says that minorities are paid unfairly. I'm no lawyer...but the dude didn't work a match for TNA due to his injuries for a long time...and I'm sure all TNA has to do is show that he got paid more for being a manager than a guy like...let's say Eric Young got paid to wrestle every night. 5. Konnan thinks he should own the LAX gimmick...despite his signing away any rights to intellectual properties in his contract. So...according to TNA, Konnan's own contract told him that they weren't responsible for his injuries (and IIRC they still lent him money...which isn't something that they would have had to do), and that they retained all their trademarks (which is just basic). And the racist stuff is mildly offensive on Konnan's part. They kept paying him when he couldn't wrestle anymore. He had all these MAJOR grievences with the company...but still kept cashing their checks and not saying anything. He's suing because they made him portray a hispanic wrestler. Seriously...that's what it says.
  22. Kong is fantastic as always. Good, fun main event too. Didn't see Storm coming in there. That's kind of interesting and I wonder where they'll go with it. Good to see a TNA original standing in with the "names" for a change.
  23. I put the ECW title ahead of the IC/US titles. But it's not a World title. It's enough of a stretch for me to believe that a company can promote having 2 world champions. I'm not buying 3. I'm not buying a llineage of Chavo, Punk and Morrison (guys who before, during and after their runs get beat regularly whenever they make it onto the real shows) as being on a level with The other 2 titles. No one wants it. The show that it's the top title of can't even get most of their guys into a battle royal for the damn thing. And (according to WWE.com) the show only has 17 people on it...including Knox, Thorn, Nunzio, Richards, Striker, BOOGEYMAN, Burke, BALLS MAHONEY... I'm just stopping there. I don't remember who said it...but someone made a comment years ago that the most important title is the one that the best wrestlers fight over. If Undertaker and HHH were feuding over the RoH title...that would be the most important title in the world. On Raw we've got HHH/Orton/Cena On Smackdown we've got Taker/Edge On ECW we've got CHAVO GUERRERO against a person to be determined by a battle royal...on the internet...featuring mostly people not on the show. Not a World title.
  24. Booker T/Robert Roode was good for a mid show match. But I can't help but wonder exactly what Roode does once this feud is over. I got a Mayweather vs. Show WrestleMania commercial after the match. I can't believe Gail Kim got screwed out of the match. That's BS. Kim/Kong is the best thing TNA's got. Dammit.
  25. As dumb as Karen Angle's interview was, at least they used part of it to put over that Kurt doesn't care about anything but Joe. I liked the Joe video. I'm starting to get behind the way they're building the match since it is different than anything else they've tried. Frank Trigg was better on commentary with one try than Don West has been in his over 5 years. For as dumb as AJ's character is portrayed...when it came time for his sparring with Angle he was a freaking genius.
