There was a period in 1994 when you couldn't turn MTV on without seeing either this video or the first season of "Road Rules."

I still like that song a lot. Too bad Skee-Lo's career never really took off. EDIT: And that thread Kamala referenced was half my idea, but I never really participated. I think I'm finally ready to embrace my roots, however shameful they may be.

This song is fine, but I've never heard anything else worthwhile from this band.

You'd think this band would be forgotten, but I'm reminded of this nothing group (whose primary claim to fame was a single made popular by a series of name drops that are now laughably dated) every time I read a Sensei John Kreese post. Way to keep the spirit of '98 alive, bro!

Hey, my cat's ringworm tests came back negative. This calls for a celebration. I'm gettin' wasted! -
I d/led that M83 album. I don't think this is for me.

"Uh, Chamberlain? In '39? That was the year he scored 100 in a game, right?" I was actually unfortunate enough to catch that "Hardball" segment as it aired. Skin-crawlingly awkward stuff. It was almost as if I had gotten caught not knowing what I was talking about.

You know what I just noticed? NBA officiating is a little suspicious sometimes. No, really, hear me out on this one. There have been some calls in the last two games that...I don't know, they just didn't seem right to me. I'll be monitoring this situation closely tonight, and I'll be sure to promptly report back to the message board with my findings.

Is there any chance that either road team wins tomorrow, or are we looking at two more uncompetitive games that are over midway through the 4th?
-
I don't see it used much anymore, but "Intelligent Dance Music" was a sub-genre label that always irked me. Ditto "post-rock."

I'm a little surprised Marvin hasn't chimed in here.

In 9th grade, I was permanently ejected from my English class for writing some fairly sexually suggestive things about the teacher in my class journal. To this day, I have no idea why I did it. I mean, she was probably about 25 and not unattractive, but the idea that I was attempting to seduce her never entered my mind. I just thought it was funny, I guess. I was really into Howard Stern at the time. In any event, I was moved to a Reading class, which was some sort of remedial thing that I breezed through. But word got around about the whole thing, and I was well into 10th grade before any girl would have anything to do with me.

Spaceman Spiff turns 33 today! I Google image-searched you a tacky gift basket, buddy: Enjoy! -
It's safe to say that the remaining three series will go to 7 and ultimately be won by the teams with home court advantage. We're at, what, 19-1 for home teams this round?

I remember having the option of signing up for a Music Theory class in, like, 7th grade. I honestly believed that this would entail discussion such as "My music theory is that I like to rock." When I discovered that it wasn't so, I opted out. I've come to regard this as a mistake.

It's nicer than West Virginia, I can tell you that much. People are pretty passionate about football. I mean, you're going to see the occasional lynching, sure, but so what? There are days in the winter when it's 65 degrees outside!
-
No surprises there, and the idea that Cook/Archuleta might "split" the vote was laughable. You realize that you can vote as many times as you'd like, right?

I'm just a glutton for punishment, I guess.
