  1. The way it was explained to me, Cannon lifted him for a piledriver, bounced his ankles off the top rope, and sat down with it quickly.
  2. From my friend via cell phone: Silas Young & Eric Priest d. Icarus & Shane Storm, Pomp & Circumstance, and TJ Dalton & Dysfunction Milanito Collection AT d. Larry Sweeney Jimmy Jacobs d. Joey Envy & Josh Abercrombie in a three way to win the MPW Universal Title Bradley & Davis d. McClure & Stone...post-match, Boz had a chunk of his hair taken out by the Fannin Family. Double C d. Chris Hero in a Euro Rounds match when Hero got mad at the referee not calling a red card on Claudio and kicked Castagnoli in the groin. Danny Daniels d. Masada Daizee Haze won the IWA Women's Title, defeating MsChif as her final opponent in the six-way. Delirious d. Arik Cannon to retain the IWA LW Title. At one point, Cannon busted out a slingshot piledriver. Ian Rotten, Brandon Thomaselli, B-Boy, & Matt Sydal d. The Iron Saints, Tank, & Todd Sexton Announced for the STB6 Flippy Tournament: Jack Evans.
  3. ...and it looks like Iceberg's off both shows due to something unknown, according to Tank in the IWA chat room.
  4. Wabash website story on concert I'm going to see Ben Folds & Ben Kweller at Wabash College this Saturday. From all accounts, I've heard Folds is great live. The big question mark is Kweller. A friend of mine told me he's really bad in concert; any other opinions?
  5. If you look closely and carefully, you can find Daria on really, really late at night (like, I think it's followed up by early morning's children programming) on Noggin. Of course, they chop it up like nobody's business because of "obscene material".
  6. Yeah, they work in Wildside regularly now. But, they were brought up in Pro Wrestling Iron.
  7. Show looks pretty good; I'm guessing it'll probably be Jacobs/Thomaselli for the Iowa Title since I doubt the Respect match tomorrow in Renseleaar'll be the end of the feud. I got a question though: are all No Limits shows from here on out co-promoted with IWA? I mean, they were very, very IWAish before they announced the co-promotion, and either way they have a really good thing going down there that I'd recommend for anyone who's a fan of good wrestling, just wondering if it's a joint project for good.
  8. I'll go into specifics if you really want them, but if Wilson & Prazak are great for just one thing as a commentary team, it's that they can make a first-time-viewer an expert on the current storylines in one show without basically reading every event in the feud and ignoring the match. I honestly think you could go in with almost no knowledge of the storylines and come out knowing why and how everything happened the way it did.
  9. I still don't see why Wildside didn't keep that name for the Dark City Soldiers and/or transfer it to the Texas Death Club when they split from the group. Anyway, back on topic... Team Names: King Diamond's a Witch Christian York & Delirious Hot Karate I'm A Dude, You're A Dude, We're All Dudes, Hey! The Channel Eleven Six O'Clock News Team STNC We Wish We Were Trik Davis
  10. Here it is.
  11. Dave Prazak announced on the CZWFans board that he will be debuting as Chikara's new play-by-play commentator at the Tag Team Grand Prix.
  12. Just added: Beef Wellington.... and A BEAR!
  13. I might. Another funny note: when Martin was leaving after his match, he got a "Cory!" chant. I didn't think about it until after the chant ended, but he really does resemble Ben Savage, who played Cory Matthews on "Boy Meets World".
  14. I have no clue how well it'll translate to tape, but that's the second best time I've had at a Highland show (TPI being number one). The New Jack stuff was funny, but at the same time, you have to remember that IWA has to be out of that building by a certain time now, and I really doubt him doing basically stand-up comedy in the ring for no reason for a half-hour really made people happy. I'm kind of disappointed that Brad "Freakin'" Martin was brought back in a really short three-way match, but eh, at least they fit him into the show. I hope he gets to come back and show his stuff; he was really great in his Lafayette match with CK3 back in July. Golden Vampire XIII/Larry Sweeney was tremendous. First off, Sweeney wore either a tiara or the daintiest headband I've ever seen. It looked like he shat his pants when the GV came out. I don't think they locked up until five minutes into the match, but they got the most reaction that anyone that night had gotten. The look on Tracy's face when that mask came off is something I don't think I'll ever forget. Crowd goes crazy, Tracy comes back with some hand thrusts that only he can do, Sweeney misses the best flip legdrop of all time (he basically just rolled off of the top rope and landed on his ass), and Tracy hits the schoolboy for the win. Tracy then grabs the microphone and tells us what he did over the holidays, which makes him that much more awesome. It was great to be alive in Highland, Indiana. The Trik Davis stuff must be seen. Between beating Hero and coming in out of nowhere and winning the cage match with Boz (hell, I was sitting on the bleachers right behind where Trik was doing commentary and even I had no clue he was going to do what he did), I think they made a star in Highland, Indiana out of Trik Davis last night. My throat is kind of hoarse today from marking out during the cage match. I just hope it translates well to tape, because at least in my opinion, it was one of the best moments in the fifteen month history of IWA in Highland. I'm thinking the next time he comes out in Highland, more fans will cheer over the Journey song he comes out to than will have cheered over any Journey song in two decades. MsChif/Mickie was unfortunately disappointing (I wasn't there last month though I heard they didn't click too well). To me at least, it just seemed like a series of submission moves for the sake of a series of submission moves. Though I won't be there due to a Ben Folds concert five minutes from my house next month, I'm really looking forward to Del Ray & Melissa's debuts in Highland. One thing I hope to erase from my memory as soon as possible is the image of Chris Candido wrestling bare-assed with a towel up his ass. That's just wrong. I thought the continuation of the Vito & Sal Thomaselli/Brandon Thomaselli split from Wildside in IWA was pretty cool. It only made sense since Brandon turned on them at Wildside and logic's kind of cool. Wildside got pretty good heel heat for not having any representatives there other than the Thomasellis. The New Jack match was...well, it was a New Jack match. People seemed to like it, so that's cool and all. I'd say to get the tape/DVD/laserdisc/8-track/projector slideshow, even if just to re-live Golden Vampire XIII and "The Night of the Trik".
  15. Ben Folds on February 12 at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN; 7:30 PM
  16. No, that's the Highspots-produced DVD set. But, I believe Behrens said there'll be no overflow between KPV's DVD and that one.
  17. According to Bill Behrens, Kit Parker Video, the group that did the Wrestling Gold DVD's, is releasing a Best of AJ Styles In Wildside DVD within the next two weeks in stores nationwide. Here's the link to Bill's statement.
  18. Jason Cross is dumb. Either this is legit, or he's trying to rip off Teddy Hart, which is dumb in its own right.
  19. From last night (stolen from everywhere): Scoot Andrews and Kahagas d. Heartbreak Xpress Steve Madison d. Sal Rinauro (wearing Saved By The Bell-themed tights...holy fuck!) LaDuke James (doing a Kamala/Abdullah spoof) d. Jason Moore & Aaron Epic James Gibson NC Azriel Antonio Banks d. Mike Shane Erick Stevens d. Seth DeLay Jerelle Clark d. Fast Eddie Vegas James Gibson & Homicide d. CM Punk & Azriel in an Anything Goes match Eh...just posted that because Sal Rinauro & SBTB tights is an amazing combination.
  20. Candido/Delirious can't help but be ungodly great. Like I've said to a few people online, it's like Flair's bastard child on crack vs. Muta's bastard child on crack (Sasuke too, if you want to get technical). I didn't know the Muscatine Armory allow deathmatch-like matches (or maybe I'm thinking about the Masonic Temple in Rock Island). Either way, Ian killing the Michigan mallrat should be fun.
  21. Rockwell's alright. Not too flashy and kind of limited. He does have a really great finisher, the Flagrant Foul (hooks a guy for the Unprettier, rolls over his back and flips him back to drop him on his head Vertebreaker-style). Adryan's not that good, but Wildside's booking protects him well. He wrestles much like any one of the faceless huge bodybuilder jocks that WWE hires frequently, only without as much muscle mass (he is a legit 6'6 though). Frost...I personally think he's the plague, but I heard he's improved into a decent wrestler. His gimmick does reek of "Special Olympics John Cena", though.
  22. You can read first round results here, and then masturbate.
  23. Note: Looking for someone that's good at cropping pictures, so we can have the winners' headshots by their name after each "match".
  24. (NOTE: This is just a thread to get the word out about this, so that's why I didn't post this in the Fantasy Booking Thread). Continuing in the tradition of self-admitted nerd Scott Christ, the Paradise City Ninjas are proud to present the First Annual Brick Tamlin Invitational. What is it, exactly? Well, we chose 72 names, eighteen from WWE, eighteen from TNA, and thirty-six from the independent circuit, and randomly drew 24 trios for a tournament to be simulated by TNM7 to determine...absolutely nothing other than which of these totally redonkulous three-man teams would be the best team out of the twenty-four. The tournament will go a little something like this: First Round: Twelve six-man tag bouts Second Round: Four three-way dances between the winning teams; the losing team in each three-way leaves the tournament (ala CZW Best of the Best) Third Round With bracketing chosen by the order of elimination of a battle royal featuring one randomly chosen member of each team, the remaining eight teams will do battle in four six-man tag team bouts under 2/3 Falls rules. Semi-Finals: The remaining four teams will do battle in a round robin tournament. Finals: The final two teams will battle in a 2/3 Falls match to determine the winners of the tournament. Sounds interesting, eh? Here's where the fun begins!
