Blind Swordsman - The Tale of Zatoichi **** The new Kitano film was my introduction to the Zatoichi character and I loved it. So I sought out the original movie from 1962 and it's just as good. The acting by Shintarô Katsu is amazing and even better than Kitano's performance.

Hellboy - ** surprisingly boring. Well, maybe not that surprising since it's from the same guy as Blade II which also nearly brought me to sleep. The character has potential, but please let someone talented do the sequel. PS: Oh crap, I just checked and del Toro is making the next one as well.

Elf - *** When The Last Sword Is Drawn - ****1/2 absolutely brilliant. If it wasn't for the overly long and sentimental ending it would get five stars.

My Sassy Girl - **** really funny and charming korean comedy. It's getting a Hollywood remake with Jennifer Lopez as the female lead, which means it'll probably suck.

God dammit. I love the Czechs, and that's just cruel. Losing Nedved was the first strike, and they never fully recovered. Damn Greece and their defensive strategy. Let's hope Portugal puts an end to that crap. PS: Collina was not good tonight, especially concerning Jan Koller. Everything he did was called a foul, even though most of time it was nothing.

Das Wunder von Bern (The Miracle of Bern) - ***1/2 A good enough movie, but immensely overrated. Some scenes were embarrassingly bad.

The Assignment - ****1/2 One of the best spy thrillers I've seen.

Lightning Flik, you have to watch the Love Hina Christmas Special for the real ending of the series. It's a great final episode. Oh, and avoid Love Hina Again at all costs.

A Fistful of Dollars - great song, cool artwork. To the guy who said he loves one-shot openings: Have you seen Snake Eyes by Brian de Palma? The movie itself is mediocre, but it has a great one-shot opening. Can't believe I forgot this: Dead or Alive by Takashi Miike. As far as energetic openings go, nothing comes close.
