God, I feel stupid. "One device that can do all that..." What can teleport things, make people fly, among other things? A mother box. Who is one person that Ralph Dibney knows who has a Motherbox? Scott Free, one of his fellow JLI members. By the by, Black Adam looks badass in that cover.

Look at what the lines form. I've honestly never noticed that before.

If this somehow interferes with Ultimates 2 #13, someone at Marvel is going to die.

WHY COULDN'T THIS HAPPEN TO THE WATCHMEN!? ... ... ... But I am happy to see Preacher getting made. HBO series is the only way to make anything nowadays.

Refute this statement and I'll tear you a new asshole

Agreed. I loved that show. -
It might be just me, but I think you're only looking at the surface of Bebop: It's not as much a plot-driven show as it is a character-driven show. While there are only a few episodes that deal directly with the plot, each episode shows a variety of different character points, situtations that mimic past events, or are metaphors for different events in the character's life, and all sorts of stuff like that. I always thought Bebop was great for layers, but I understand that it can't appeal to everyone. Plus, the reference to jazz and bebop in the show's format (A variety of different riffs that come back to the same underlying story, along with individual 'solos') help make sense of it. I thought .Hack was okay, but it's music never really stood out to me. Bebop's unique sort of ADD/Situational Music fix always got me. But that's just me.

He changed his name into Sentinel, but I don't remember him dying. He may have briefly retired, but from what I can remember he's been a pretty consistant member of the JSA.

Yeah, the newspaper reviews really baffled me. This is a two star step from the last two Bond movies, but that's only **1/2 stars there. It still needs better pacing, and I felt as though things weren't even properly explained (M says . Ah well. At least it's still a passable Bond movie. What they really need to do is get rid of the current scriptwriters (Who also wrote the last two). I'm convinced if they got rid of them, they'd be in a helluva lot better shape.

He's Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern. He's been in a few different comics this year, but you'll probably want to look up JSA and Checkmate.

It was okay. Much more character-driven, yes, but it really felt like it dragged at a few points; with all the breaks in the action, it really gave it weird pace. Along with not having any sort of 'villain', it made it hard to pay attention to at times. I didn't like the change to Texas Hold'em, because frankly Bond is supposed to be the epitome of style. I'd rather have seen Baccarat or something that's less predictable than a Poker laydown. At least Baccarat is obscure enough that it can surprise ya a little bit. Daniel Craig is an excellent choice for Bond. Comparing him to Dalton is almost insulting; I never felt Dalton had the 'look' of a Bond. Craig has it, and he just oozes style and charisma. The first action sequence felt pointless, but it was a really fun one (Seriously, anyone with half a brain would have just waited for the guy to come back down) and it did establish Bond in more of a 'Rookie' mode. Bond using less ultra-contrived gadgets and relying on intelligence and wit was a really great change, and I think that he's need the change for a while. Overall, I thought it was a great change from the last two outings. Something needed to change, and I think this movie really got it right with a more intelligent, slightly more reserved approach. While I feel like it had pacing problems, it's good to see a 007 movie that you're not embarrassed to see.

I find it almost disturbing how much I like NCAA Football '07 more than I like Madden '07. I mean, I like a few of the Madden features a lot better (Run controls in this last edition were fantastic in my opinion), but things like the 'Hall of Famer' Mode slowed my game to a crawl and frankly were miserably implimented. I dunno what it is about it, but Madden just seems so damned stale, while everything I play in NCAA seems fresher. Anyone else get this feeling?

I think you missed his point. His point was that Reed Richards has gone against the Government before. Why does he suddenly become a coward now?

Meh. If they had killed Dick Grayson, they would have killed one of hallmarks of the 'Generational' theme of DC. Dick Grayson was perhaps the only sidekick (Or at the very least, the first) who was successfully able to set themselves away from their mentor. I'm glad he survived, and I'm glad they are at least showing that his survival was very, very odd. But him dying... that would have been out of left-field if it had happened.

You know, I never noticed that. I'd like to point out something as well: In the Ambush Bug's appearance in Week 24, there are two images in his eyes when he takes away the phone from Firestorm. One looks to be a skull in a fedora, and the other kinda looks like Fate's Helmet. Anyone else notice this?
-
I hope he returns. Ray deserves more of a "Barry Allen" sendoff rather than a "Hal Jordan" sendoff.

By the looks of that cover, we are finally going to figure out what happened to Eclipso-Loring. Plus, the missing seconds I've heard about. Interesting.

Anyone who wants to catch up on Ultimate X-men
Justice replied to LivingLegendGaryColeman's topic in Literature
I agree with this. Most of the Magneto stuff is just great, while things like Hellfire, Proteus, and Magical (Never really got into it. Waaaay too rushed) were sub-par. But, quite easily, the worst art in the entire Ultimate X-Men was the Ultimate War crossover. Dear GOD that was almost unreadable. Completely ruined what could have been a good arc. FINALLY! Someone else who likes UFF. This is very true. I think the X-Men are at their strongest (Storywise) when you are able to see their vast differences in world-view and personality. What continuity doesn't Jean Grey fuck up? Seriously, I'm waiting for her to be retconned as a homeless Indonesian girl and her previous incarnations were simply "Psychic Interdimensional Skrull Replacements". -
I find it hard to believe that La Russa would just roll over for a friend in the World Series of all things. But I do agree that his actions really make no sense. This whole story doesn't make sense, just how everyone let it go so quick (As in the managers).

Do you really want to read a Hawkman origin that is longer than two pages?
-
Allow me to put a third one in there: Maybe this is a malfunction of the metagene therapy, sort of a flaw in their controller that will either magnify their powers past catastrophic, showing Luthor's hubris in trying to play God failing in the end, ala the Tower of Babel.
-
For those of you who don't know, that little scupture on Luthor's desk is the Tower of Babel.

The best way to put it is that Detroit is just a sports town. We like all our teams (Shit, I went to Vipers and Rockers games back in the day), often no matter how shitty they are. Just look at the sizable fanbase that the Lions still manage to have, despite being one of the most consistantly shitty teams in the league. Detroit is faithful to it's teams; despite all their shittiness over the years, none of them have ever had any threat of moving anywhere else, or had attendence problems. I mean, Christ, how many of you could stay with a team that hasn't been over .500 for 10 years and almost set a record for most losses (And not be a Cubs fan) and proudly brag about it? It's not bandwagon stuff, it's just that we're suddenly getting the chance to say "Hey, we're fricken GREAT again!" Max: It's "Hockeytown, USA". Montreal is probably a bigger hockey town, and Toronto is just far, far more obnoxious one.

Wolverine's storyline is semi-interesting. Damage Control fueling these sorts of things actually makes a bit of sense (and I'm surprised it was never done before).

I think it should be said that Todd Jones is the luckiest man alive right now. God damn it, I thought that was a Grand Slam for the win there.

This announcing team is getting unbearable.
