Where are you from? I think you have to grow up in an area that's stereotyped for having rednecks. I know growing up here I've been like "I don't know any rednecks......." and then I hear Foxworthy and I'm like "By gawd! They're everywhere!" I grew up outside of Pittsburgh, moved to Sappy Valley for a few years (rednecks there), moved to Middletown Ohio (redneck palace) for a few years, and now I'm back in Southwestern PA. I knew some rednecks, but it veered more toward white trash than redneck-dom...
