  1. No.
  2. He's not being that negative. He's just calling it like he sees it. When a guy has seen thousands upon thousands of wrestling matches over 35 years as a wrestling fan, including the best matches of Flair, Steamboat, Hart, Benoit, Michaels, Misawa, Kobashi, etc., it's gotta be kind of hard to really get stoked for a Randy Orton vs Carlito match. And the last time, I think was Judgment Day. I'm pretty sure he liked that one.
  3. The new Observer says that basically the only reason they hired Henry Godwinn is because he's friends with HHH.
  4. Oh fuck yeah

    Wii

OK, think of it this way: would THQ want to put an old game on the VC and run the risk of not having people buy whatever new WWE they come out with for Wii? I mean, No Mercy is a pretty full-featured game, and it has a CAW mode and everything. I would think some people would just say "fuck paying $50 for a new game" when they could get a better one for $10, even if the new one has Gamecube-quality graphics, possible Wii-mote functionality (how could you play a wrestling game with that thing?) and dynamic new WWE Superstars like Mr. Kennedy and Candice Michelle.
  6. I believe it's his sixth or seventh stint with the company. Hmmmmm.....let's see 1987: Couple of dark matches and then fired 1988-1993: Teamed with Michaels until Barber Shop angle, then took several months off due to legal issues as well as to sell the injury, all this time still being under contract. Fired after Rumble match with HBK. 1993-1994: Comes back in May, wins and loses IC and tag belt, released in early '94 1995-1996: Returns in September '95, forms New rockers, released in late 96-early '97 2005: Returns for two matches, get resigned and then released 2006: Brought back for Kiss My Ass angle, last two weeks 2006: And now he's back again!

I don't think No Mercy will be on the Virtual Console due to the fact that many of the wrestlers featured in it are no longer with WWE and thus no longer held to whatever licensing agreements that allowed them to be in the game. Does THQ want to have to pay royalties based on a freakin' virtual console game? Do they want to have to go in and edit a near six-year-old game to remove all references to WWE's now-prohibited former name? I think not!
  8. He's crying to me on MSN now. Poor thing. HEY Leena.

He's probably mad that she said his kid has no future.
  11. Anyone who thinks UT should retire with the streak intact is being dumb. You have no idea how much it hurt me to write that. I'd never want to hurt Bob Barron's feelings. But it's my opinion!

N64 and Gamecube launched on Sundays too.
  15. It's just that same thing John Mellencamp did when he switched from "John Cougar" to his real name. It's just a name. Get over it. If you're asking a guy to limit his career potential by demanding that he continue to use his wrestling nickname in his professional work, yeah, that is selfish. Besides, this is a risk for Rock. He's dropping the name that everyone knows him by in favor of his real name (and really, how many Dwaynes do you know how have become superstars?). For all we know, it could be his management asking for this name change. Or maybe it isn't, who knows or cares?

  17. Shouldn't Czech be embracing such a nickname. He showed some real Coulter-ish political views back when this folder was interesting.

I kinda feel sorry for Don. Whether he's a bro or not, the fact that he can't see his son is a bit fucked up.
  19. The guy's getting heat from the marks for it, and its no more ridiculous than some other arrogant delusional heel rantings we've seen over the years. I wouldn't disagree but I think Dave's point is that the world champion shouldn't be a comedy figure.
  20. All in the Family AND the New Radicals! The Meathead got what he gave! That New Radicals album was awesome. I'll never take that back. I don't think Danielle really added anything to it, however.

    HEY Hawk 34

I like Hawk 34 too! But he's gotta be Choken One! He just can't not be! I don't care what "surreaList" says! He is! He must be!
  23. Lots of guys have been given big pushes and haven't gotten over like Goldberg was. You have to take into consideration that it wasn't just the fact that he was winning a lot of matches that got him over. It was a combination of all the things he had going for him: his look, his trademark spots (spear, jackhammer, etc.), his music, his entrance, and other things. The fact is, I'm pretty sure Goldberg developed a lot of the facets of his character himself, particularly since WCW never really paid that much attention to developing characters, and certainly never did so to the extent that WWE does. So, I would say that while Goldberg wasn't an exceptional talent, he can be given a great deal of credit for his own success.
