*Still currently looking for VPW2 at a good price, since that one site seems to be unsure about availability* Damnit, not one listing on Ebay for the game.
-
Mission accomplished, at least in my case. Have some dignity and tell Vince to fuck off, manwhore. I'd assume the whole point was that Mick chickening out puts over Orton more than Orton kicking Mick's ass. Everyone's kicked Mick's ass already.

Actually, there were far more than that. Aladdin was also a pack in one time, I think the Genesis 6-Pack was for a while also, among many others. SNES: Super Mario World, later All-Stars as well, later on Donkey Kong Country, and so forth. 32X: Uh...Doom! X-Box has Tetris Worlds and that-Star-Wars-game-that-isn't-KOTOR-so-no-one-gives-a-damn. Isn't FFXI supposed to be the future PS2 pack in? I know it's going to be bundled with the modem, but if they sell the modem and PS2 together, that would make sense.

Do you mean pack-in games?

Finally got castlevania rondo of blood (dracula x)
AndrewTS replied to Renegade's topic in Video Games
Damnit Konami, why am I not able to play this in the US on my Playstation right friggin' now!? Ren, are the downloads dial-up friendly? I wanna play it bad. -
I think it wasn't until last year or so that my nearly Funcoland became Gamestop. Anyway, Gamestop I think now currently compromises the former Funcoland, Babbages, and Software, Etc.

I found another site wanting less, but thanks for the suggestions. Sure about the Gameshark i.e. tried it personally? It would seem like it would work because the N64 only requires a casing or cart modding to bypass I think. However, an import cart will easily fit on top the Gameshark and then will bypass no problem? Or is a special code needed?

More or less the same engine, however I'm not sure where VPW2 falls in chronologically between the American AKI games. I've heard it's better than No Mercy but came before it...

What the hell are you talking about? I was making the point that in the movie example you gave, the character wasn't necessary a Japanese character nor did he need to be. In WWE's faux-Yakuza, their rank is unknown (they could be high-ranking for all we know), but that could be dependent on whatever the hell they're doing. Although I honestly don't know if there's any actual reason that Tajiri would be assisted by the Yakuza other than "Yakuza" is a new Japanese stereotype Vince learned. Is there some objective that they're trying to accomplish? You're saying everyone that is Asian looks and sounds alike? Nope, that's not true. Your persons of Anglo-Saxon descent generally look alike and can learn to sound alike, however, they aren't necessarily going to look like a typical Spaniard, or Russian, or German, etc. Plus, their native languages could be a serious barrier to sounding like another nationality. They're all white though! It should always work! Everyone that's a member of a given race looks and sounds exactly the same! Zsa Zsa said so! He's always right! I know, let's have a Jew play a Neo-Nazi. That should work! All Asians don't look alike. Hell, not even all Japanese look alike, because there is a notable difference in appearance to Japanese from southern Japan and northern Japan. So Chinese, Koreans, Vietnamese, and Thais don't all look alike. Japanese themselves can single out and will ostracize a Chinese person because they simply don't all look alike. Your typical WWE mark is a moron who thinks they all look alike though, so if that's the point you're trying to make, agreed on that point. As for sounding alike--yeah, I'm sure a native born Asian American is fluent enough to sound like a Japanese person. This part is somewhat of a non-issue because they never let them talk, but you did bring that point up. At the time though, we'd assumed they'd be talking, to explain themselves. I don't think anyone right now actually knows what the hell their mission in WWE is though, so SOMEONE talking would be helpful if they wanted to push the angle at all. So, my opinions on the subject prompted you to restate your inane whinings you already made previously in a new post, correct? Only in this case you provided an example of a modern cinema classic and bastion of political correctness, some James Bond flick. What-the-hell-ever. If you think your viewpoint is so valid, why do you have to resort to insulting other people while stating it? Doing so just makes you look like a jackass. Zsa Zsa says: you disagree with me, and I'm right, so you're a moron. I will now abandon discussion of the subject and resort to insults. If you were clever, why would you have to constantly tell us so? Zsa Zsa says: I've clever damnit! I'm really clever! If I keep telling people so enough times maybe they'll believe me!

I keep my 16-bit systems hooked up in our guest room, since I have the newer systems in my bedroom. Anyway, I bought a used N64 cheap from some people about to be ripped off trading it in to Gamestop and offered them more, got it, and took it home. Now, my RF switch for my Genesis broke a while ago, so I picked up one of those third-party versions that have a bunch of cords (N64, PS1/2, Saturn, SNES, Genesis, etc). I wanted to test the N64 but it only came with A/V cables, and I decided not to (at first) disconnect my Genesis which was hooked up to the same RF. I was curious if you could use the same RF to hook up systems at the same time. So I had both the Genesis and N64 hooked up to the same RF switch, and popped in Zelda (Ocarina of Time) to test it out. I turned it on...to see the Sega Enterprises info, some a little bit of the Zelda intro, the "Saaay-gaaaah!" thing, and more of the Zelda intro. The hell?! The picture and sound was alternating between the systems, even though I didn't turn the Genesis on. Hell--I didn't even have the Genesis plugged in!! I turned them both on and hooked up the N64 by itself...it worked great, but that's very odd. I guess the audio and picture mixed up and alternated, but how did the Genesis run without being plugged in? Just some leftover juice left in the system? Some power can travel from the N64 to the Genesis? I don't get it. Okay--the VPW2 question: where's the best place to get a copy and a converter? The main reason I got another N64 is because it looks like the WWE games are going to lick balls in comparison on the PS2 and I'd rather have a good old game than a blah new game.

In the film it was pretty clear this guy was supposed to be Japanese. The "sumo thug" designation only comes from his bodytype. How would a gaijin get a job as a hitman for one of Japan's top corperations? Because he's just that, a "thug" and not really anyone with any true power within the organization? If you're just a thug or an assassin, I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter what nationality or race you are if you can do the job. If they'd be giving you actual power, it would be a factor. Also, Yokozuna was supposed to represent Japan, but was billed as being Polynesian. It's not that implausable as you make it out to be in your strawman. In the above case, maybe it's because they are ALMOST ALL WHITE ANGLO-SAXONS? All they need to do is to get the accent down and a British guy can play an American convincingly, and so forth. Make up your mind: it is "everyone" or me and many others? Also, what's the point of naming names other than--oh yeah, because you don't like me, and feel like making yourself feel better by trying to make me look foolish. I've also never said how awful or offensive it was. I've just said that Samoans are Vince's favorite minority, because he likes to use them to stand-in for any other minorities he needs to fill a gimmick. Also, since Yang isn't being made to speak in broken Japlish and I'm not watching SD anyway at this point, I don't even care. However, would it kill Vince to cast an American as an American rather than play off xenophobia and racism? That would be refreshing, don't you think? Well, at least Vince has improved for fear of potential serious backlash. He hasn't taken an African American wrestler, dressed him up like a savage or tribal villager, and had him go down to the ring chucking spears or anything in a while. But if don't look or speak like a character who is another nationality? Exactly. Quit trying to misrepresent other people's opinions to make yourself look correct. I'll give you the mild disgust part.

You must have done a lot of the fighting outside of the ring, because matches in Slam Masters are extremely short. Once your energy is down to zero in the ring, any submission hold or a simple pin ends the match (unless you're in a team match and your partner saves you). The Deathmatch mode isn't in the SNES version or the arcade, it's a Genesis exclusive. The SNES is the better version overall, though, thanks to the multiplayer. An update would be great to see, however Slam Masters II's suckitude apparently killed the series dead. With Def Jam Vendetta, Ultimate Muscle, and even the Simpons Wrestling game showing up to cash in on wrestling (the games remain popular despite the declining popularity of WWE. Go figure), there's a small chance of a revival I guess.

Except that it is, you know, not really a Square-developed game.

Me, and FFTA really really sucks.

Morgansault? Ew. But really, he's done enough in the company for a good career, and there's nothing left for him to do right now anyway, with brock busy, so it's for the best. Eh, Lionsault would work too, you know... This sucks, but I wouldn't rush to blame it on the choice of surgery. The fusion isn't that great either, but Kurt's rushing to get back in the ring likely aggravated what could have been a more complete recovery. Still, this does put a lot of doubts on how effective it actually is. Oh well, one less reason to watch WWE.

It was an impressive list so I stated it as so, whats the problem? Kinda pointless to quote the entire list just for that comment. Oh, and have the Castlevania: Lament of Innocence one. Forgot about that. Does anyone actually still own that Killer Instinct soundtrack that came with the SNES version? I did but I lost it. A lot of it was really "yuck" though.

I was extending your analogy. If you read my arguments you shouldn't need it explained to you. Wheels different sizes = the wrestlers having wildly different amounts of overall stats and the favoring of the "Strength" attribute. That's what I said--hosses and main eventers are favored, not the other way around. Most of the guys in the game are about at where their stats should be, but those guys have their stats overrated. Only Henry and maybe Brock should have 10 for strength, but there are others around that area or close to it. Plus, that's the be-all end-all for damage determination. Thing is, though, it's not a challenge, though. The A.I. still sucks, but you have to dish out 10 times the damage to win. In No Mercy, when you'd win a tough match, it looked competitive because even though the A.I. was counter-happy, the offense was usually about even. You'd have to be smart to win. In HCTP, you can be an average-sized midcarder, and the computer may get in 4 lucky moves (one of which might be a back elbow) and you lose. Or, if you're a cruiser, you have to NEVER be touched, and keep climbing the top rope, waiting for the opponents to run towards you and missile dropkick them, etc, etc. That's stupid, that's flawed game play, and that's poor design. Four times my ass--they can beat you in four regular moves (that is, non-specials, perhaps one back elbow and three grapple moves). I think my "10x" remark is far closer to the truth, considering it takes about 40 moves to win a damn match.

Renegade--master of the obvious. I guess the music was okay... Where does one usually procure soundtracks for video games, may I ask?
-
Chrono Trigger...and that's it.

*Eggs Renegade's house for snubbing Tobal. Chicken Dude rules, and that was a cool game. Wonder what Tobal 2 is like... Damn, Sakura picked Karin already. Pick 1 - Wolverine from the many X-Men fighting games, both Capcom and non-Capcom. Pick 2 - Pyron from the Darkstalkers series. Pick 3 - Lilith from Vampire Savior/Darkstalkers 3. Pick 4 - Paul Pheonix from Tekken series.
-
I'd love for you to not troll like a jackass.

Best -- No Mercy Worst -- Wrestle War (a Genesis game emulated on Dreamcast in the Smash Pack)
-
Yeah--when making a video game, you want to mimic everything the real-life WWE does. Also, any good fighting game has something called "character balance." Except for Joe Average characters, for every strength a guy should have a deficiency. Therefore, a character will suit a certain style of play but still have exploitable weaknesses. Thus, skill and not the attribute level itself, determines who wins. HCTP doesn't have that, and it threw out the balanced setup of SYM and other previous SD games for this boneheaded current setup. Players of inferior skill can win based on pure luck in HCTP, because certain wrestlers have to inflict 10x the damage on another wrestler to win. Also, why the hell should a Hurracanrana by A-Train be more effective than a Mysterio one? Damage is determined solely by Strength, not wrestler style like it is in a good, well-balanced game like Fire Pro.

I hate almost all FPS games but love Metroid Prime. It's not the same as classic Metroid, but it's still very good. Metroid Zero Mission is coming, though, and you can play that on the Cube with a Game Boy Player.
