Who do they have for MITB this year? RVD, Carlito, Shelton....maybe have some SD guys in it as well with Orton, Benoit, and Rey?? Hell, in a sense doing it in a Raw/SD type manner can create feuds for after WM, depending on who wins or who costs who a loss. Let's say instead of a "winner gets the shot", they have it almost as a "Capture The Flag" team sport where the brand of the wrestler that gets it has it go to their brand, and then the actual GUY who grabbed it can kind of sit out until Backlash, while the other two on his team fight for a chance to win it. So...let's say RVD gets it. Carlito and Shelton have a match, Shelton wins, and then Shelton and RVD can have a match. If they want to continue the RVD/Carlito stupidity, they can have Carlito cost RVD the MITB shot (and this would be a good way to start a push to Shelton in the main event). On the Smackdown side, they could have Orton get it, have an Benoit/Rey match, and just go from there, as (honestly) any one of those three could potentially get the title shot based on STATUS (though one of them might not be who the smarks want to have it). There would not be a direct pay-off at WM, sure, but the fans could get their spotfest live and know that there could be some good television to watch and see how the three guys involved on the winning side interact for a while.
