  1. Saw this last night. I was surprised by Segel's ability to convincingly pull of the lead role. My hat's off to you. I'm probably going to have mixed feelings about the movie, though, since it was part of the most awkward date I've been on. Surprisingly, this is the second Apatow-related flick (the other being Knocked Up) that'll have some unfortunate girl-related memories for me. Ironic that the two Apatow movies most likely to get you laid have yielded just the opposite for me.
  2. Yeah, but why use this as a forum to discuss it? That'd be like me posting an AIM conversation with Goodhelmet. Does anyone really give a shit?
  3. So wait, why are we digging up all we can about Mr. Jones?
  4. You don't think that's a little coy considering we all started out here because of our mutual interest of watching half-naked dudes engaging in scripted matches?
  5. Wow, this is just unbelievably inaccurate. As for CJ returning, he's so far removed from this place that it still amazes me people bring him up as often as they do.
  6. Meh. But then again, what else would you expect from me, right? He and I were mentioned together in far too many sentences the last year or so he was around here.
  7. I recall Steve Stone speaking highly of him a couple years ago. Like Czech said, he was one of the many "next big relievers" the Cubs had. They've developed some great arms in the pen, but they've also had more busts in that department than I care to recall. Remember when Todd Wellemeyer was pegged to be their closer of the future?
  8. It's not just today. I don't care much for him. He surprised a lot of people last year, but he was clearly overachieving with his performance. At this point, I think Cedeno will and should be spelling the starting shortstop position before we get too deep into the summer.
  9. I don't like Ryan Theriot.
  10. By most accounts, Ronny looks like a completely different hitter this year. I haven't seen many of his at-bats, but from what I've read, he's not chasing as many bad pitches, he's working deeper counts, and his actually producing. I'm not completely sold on him, but since he's playing the role of understudy to Ryan Theriot, I think he deserves serious consideration for the starting shortstop position.
  11. Ben Sheets left the game with a tricep injury. He almost made it to May.
  12. Is Kotz still MIA?
  13. This won't mean a ton to the majority of you, but I just received a huge box of hip-hop albums as part of a swank eBay transaction. I landed the 60-album lot for $90 shipped. Some definite filler in there, but among the highlights: - The Infamous (Mobb Deep) - Hell on Earth (Mobb Deep) - Murda Muzik (Mobb Deep) - Stillmatic (Nas) - Still Standing (Goodie Mobb) - Capital Punishment (Big Pun) - Wu-Tang Forever (Wu-Tang Clan) - Slim Shady LP (Eminem) - Illmatic (Nas) - ATLiens (OutKast) - Aquemini (OutKast) - I Am...(Nas) - When Disaster Strikes (Busta Rhymes) - R. (R. Kelly) - Life After Death (Notorious B.I.G.) - Enter the Wu-Tang (Wu-Tang Clan) - 2Pacalypse Now (2Pac) - Me Against the World (2Pac) - Tical (Method Man) - Doggystyle (Snoop Dog) - The Chronic (Dr. Dre) - All Eyez on Me (2Pac) - It Was Written (Nas) - The Pillage (Cappadonna) - Ready to Die (Notorious B.I.G.) There's some fluff elsewhere in the lot, but it's nice to finally own legit copies of so many classics.
  14. Joey Votto is the latest Cub-killer.
  15. Yeah and that doesn't seem likely, since: A) A lot of Gnarls Barkley's "fans" don't seem to realize it's a duo and not a single performer B) Even those who realize that are likely unfamiliar with Cee-Lo's solo work, much less his involvement with the Dungeon Family.
  16. This doesn't anger me, per say, but it's a bit annoying to see guys use the "athletic" option on MySpace to describe their body type when it's clearly not true. Just because you weigh 120 pounds and see some definition along with your ribs doesn't mean you've got an athletic body. Likewise, if you have some muscle, but also a gut and some breasts to match, you don't have an athletic body type.
  17. Not derail this thread, but I seriously doubt you had to worry about an album that was released less than a month ago getting snapped up in a thread like this. Speaking of Gnarls Barkley, I was skimming a "best rappers" thread on another board and someone listed Gnarls Barkley. HA!
  18. I'm fast-fowarding through almost all of the in-ring "action" so far. The studio segments are quality, as usual, but the matches are worse than usual. The Rock and Bass? Lombardi and Not-Superfly Snuka? The motherfucking Shadows? S.D. Jones (again?!). Yikes. Not to mention the first two "update" segments were total rehashes of footage they showed last week.
  19. Snatched a brand new copy of Stankonia for $4.50
  20. Between the Sox/Yanks, Tigers/Indians, and Cubs/Reds, there's some AWFUL pitching going on tonight.
  21. I'd imagine Sabathia's hurt. This is the second consecutive outing where I wondered who the hell was getting shelled and come to find out that it's C.C.
  22. Moises Alou, on the other hand, would've insisted another fan obstructed him from making the catch.
  23. I didn't see the game, but Alfonso Soriano left in the first with a strained calf. Some are suggesting it happened doing that stupid little hop he does before catching a flyball.
  24. My god, will someone please explain this to him? Perhaps with the aid of finger puppets? I like to watch baseball and while I don't wish to or have to watch every game, there's no reason a game that goes nine innings should approach the four-hour mark. If it does, then maybe they should have an earlier starting time for these games. A lot of people have to get up to work or go to school in the morning. They shouldn't invest two or three hours into a game and then have to find out about the outcome the next day because Jose Molina's fat ass wanted to talk to his pitcher 12 times during an at-bat. The whole "don't like it, don't watch it" line is a cop-out to the obvious issue of overly-long game times.
  25. I don't find either team terribly compelling anymore. Yes, both are developing some of their own players, but for the most part, this rivalry has degraded into a pissing contest. I'm hoping the Rays continue to improve, because I'd love to see some fresh rivalries flourish in the AL East. Obviously nothing is going to match or at least be as hyped as the Sox/Yanks, but I think we've got a good shot at seeing some new storylines develop in the coming years.
