Maybe I just don't watch enough White Sox games, but it seems like Hawk rambles on about the Sox fans' energy at least once every time I tune in. Glad I flipped over to TBS, where Biggio was coming off the field for the last time. As a Cubs fan, he was a huge pain the ass, but an undeniable HOF'er all the way.

Jason Marquis' last few outings make me think the Cubs should just go with a three-man rotation and hope no one's arm flies into the stands.

Alfonso Soriano hit his 7th leadoff homer of September. That's just insane. He's still overpaid to an extent, but there's no denying he's one of the best offensive players in the game today when he's riding one of his hot streaks.

I'm actually pulling for the Brewers, since I'd rather have to face the Phillies or Mets over the D-Backs. It sounds crazy, but for whatever reason, the Cubs are just horrible against Arizona.

The Cubs would have at least two homers today if they weren't playing on a football field with fences.

Cubs 0-1 on this final week. Floyd almost tied it with two down in the ninth, but just one of those nights. These umps are really out of hand, though.

If we're going to spout off conspiracy theories about MLB wanting certain teams in the postseason, Andy Fletcher just tossed Aramis Ramirez out of the game. Ramirez was on his way back to the dugout and at least 10 feet away from Fletcher when the ejection came. This followed DeRosa getting jobbed on a called third strike well off the plate.

Pretty nice example of a person's past actions blinding someone to the realities of the situation at hand.

He can accuse Kanye of making "safe" music all he wants, but at least West is evolving musically. "Fiddy" is a one-note emcee. He may churn out an assembly line of songs about guns, money, and violence, but it's clear which of the two is making the safe music these days. And it sure isn't Kanye.

That was just idiotic leaving Hudson in that long. I understand they don't have anything to play for, but he was clearly gassed by that point.

Anyone was gonna get knocked around today, given the conditions. That'd be true if Marquis had been giving up flyballs that landed in the basket. I watched key parts via MLB TV later on and he was just getting lit up. Lots of frozen ropes and nothing really aided by the wind. He's certainly been better than what we could have expected, but I still don't like the prospect of their playoff hopes hinging on his arm.

Oh man, I can't believe Marquis is the guy we have to rely on if Game 163 is necessary. But at least they won and everyone should watch the replays for Ramirez' BOMB out of Wrigley.
