  1. It's an absolute travesty someone from the NL Central is going to the playoffs.
  2. Because people bitch about Bonds and Sheffield juicing in the past when they're arguably not doing so anymore. It would be hypocritical to let this blow over if people are going to make issue of what those guys did.
  3. Well, damn. It's going to seem so tainted when he wins the World Series MVP.
  4. Thank god I keep forgetting the Cubs seem to play Thursday games exclusively during the day.
  5. Having Craig Monroe start his first career game in centerfield in the heat of a pennant race may rank up there with Lou's idea to have the bullpen start the game.
  6. His gestures were simply pointing to his hears to indicate he heard them. He called a press conference today to apologize. At any rate, it was probably one of the most bone-headed outings Z's ever had. Probably worse than the infamous dugout fight. That's only remembered because of the fight, but Z was just awful on all fronts yesterday after running through the stop sign. Speaking of Cub pitchers, I've seen all of Kerry Wood I care to see. These guys crumble anytime they have to face a team that's got a winning record. It's a shame that their placement in such a lousy division is going to obstruct the fact that for $200 million, they've fielded a team that's probably three over .500 after tonight.
  7. I'm amused that not only were there no takers, but not even a response.
  8. In case anyone was curious about the BB set, I took some pictures a few minutes ago:
  9. Contract the NL Central.
  10. Hey, Carlos Zambrano kind of sucks again. I wonder if his horrible inning has anything to do with trying to go first-to-home in the previous frame.
  11. I was wondering if he could make it to THIRD on the play and then I see his fat ass trucking around third through the stop sign. Not smart, Big Z.
  12. He's just so eager to be clutch, that's all.
  13. Rotoworld is reporting that Juan Encarnacion's career is in serious jeopardy. He may have suffered a permanent loss of vision as a result of the foul ball that struck him in the eye Friday night. He certainly doesn't have a great rep and he's far from what most would consider a good player, but this is pretty tragic news.
  14. Top three teams in the NL Central won today. Cubs erased a four-run deficit with a Derrek Lee homer in the 8th. Jacque Jones, Soriano, and Ryan Theriot came within inches of having an ugly crash in the outfield, too, but thankfully, everyone dodged each other.
  15. Anyone see the Beefcake promo from PTW? Dude is messed up! And Mean Gene is wearing sunglasses for some reason.
  16. I started a new job two weeks ago and haven't had much free time, but I don't work again until Tuesday, so I should have at least one more up before tomorrow night.
  17. Which is worse: pot or booze? And don't you think if the government would profit from it, they would legalize the former?
  18. How is Eardrum? Kweli's dropped off in my books. He's gone from being an exciting MC to a guy who has me thinking maybe he isn't as good as I gave him credit for.
  19. The day of eating from hell. Started out great, but my last food intake included a chicken burrito from Qdoba, cheddar Sunchips, and two chalupas from Taco Bell. The last two items were an offshoot of some, uh, recreational substances, but I can't blame anything on the immense burrito earlier.
  20. The Red Sox PBP guy sounds like comedian Brian Regan's "dumbfounded" voice whenever he gets real excited.
  21. He also has a no-hitter. He hasn't given up any hits through eight innings. Not one hit. Outings where you give up no hits are considered pretty good. And I see Rocky Cherry is fitting in nicely with the Baltimore bullpen. He gave up many hits tonight. Unlike Buchholz, who has given up no hits.
  22. A game in April is equal in worth to a game in September. It's just that in many cases, there's little room for error in September.
  23. Kanye is far from mature, but my first impressions of Graduation is a more sophisticated production style from West. Lyrically, he matches up with it on most tracks, although there are some clunkers in there. "Barry Bonds" may be the worst song to ever grace an official Kanye LP. It's low-grade mixtape junk. Ironically, Lil Wayne, who seems to release a new mixtape weekly, is featured on the song. Perhaps the biggest difference between this and his previous two efforts is the absence of the insipid skits. I understand they were designed to reiterate a running theme with each album, but they were irritating after the first couple listens and really broke up the flow of the overall product. It's tough to rationally grade such a hyped release this early, especially since it's still over a week from being "out." For now, this is looking like Kanye's best album and one of the best mainstream hip-hop offerings in some time.
  24. How come idiots like you keep on posting these one sentence replies, while not adding anything one way or the other to the subject? Wow, you can spell! Congrats, you fucking moron. Your positive attitude is a breath of fresh air in these times of religious dominance. I can't see why more people aren't willing to hear out non-religious people like yourself. Is a result of coming off like an irrational, hate-filled dumbass? Probably not. And for the record, I was actually referring to B@RTOK's posts, but if you'd like to put yourself in that boat, be my guest.
  25. We're getting to the point on PTW where there's new blood filtering in by the week. Ted Dibiase and Bam Bam Bigelow are featured/referred to. What a brilliant character the Million Dollar Man was. But holy shit, Virgil may be wearing the gayest outfit I've ever seen.
