  1. All right, that's it. This is your only warning. Knock it off, or you're gone.
  2. Both, actually. The first series of the year for both teams (starting April 4th) will be at Yankee Stadium. MLB will probably make the first game the season opener (in which case, they'll probably start Sunday the 3rd, like the O's and Sox did last year). A week later (April 11th), Boston will have their home opener against the Yankees.
  3. Well fine, but don't say "the rivalry is over". That's moronic, for reasons everyone has stated here already. You guys will have to think up some new clever chants and signs now, though.
  4. I think the problem is that you (and others) have about 20 different favorites, and you jump from team to team depending on how they are doing; if a team's winning, you're a fan. If they don't, it's "screw em', who's next on the list?" I mean, you didn't know a damn thing about baseball and yet you rooted for the Sox? That's like me cheering for Sydney's Aussie rules football team even though I know jack about the sport. It just REALLY annoys me when people have 8 favorite teams in one sport. Just pick one and stick with it, already. Maybe it's because I've grown up in an area with a rich history in pro sports, but I just can't fathom people dumping teams like a 16 year old dumps his girlfriend and tries to find someone better.
  5. I renamed the thread, and just threw a little spoiler warning in there (please continue to use the spoiler tags for major game details). The game is very different from the other two games, I think. I'm still only in Los Santos and there is a load to do there all by itself. I really want to get to Las Venturas, so I can live the life of a high roller.
  6. So the parade is at 10AM Saturday, starting near Fenway and ending near City Hall. No rally? I thought I heard they might not do one because of all the people (and there will be a shitload of people there; I went to the Pats parade in February, and I thought there were a lot of people THEN.) This title is really for guys like my dad and his friends, who were around for '86, '75, and in some cases, '46 (my dad was in the bleachers for Game 6 in '75). I mean, I'm estatic, but I was only FOUR in 1986, so I barely remember what happened. The real "tortured" fans are people over 30, not the drunk college kids. Sorry, I'm babbling. *Passes the Torch of Torment to Cubs fans*
  7. Yes, Boston is insane. Anyone else hear the Boston mayor's public prayer after game 3 or 4 of the ALCS? Funniest thing you will ever hear. Just picture a guy with marbles in his mouth, adding a thick Boston accent, and metaphors about cookies, and there you go. "Lawd, hear our prayah."
  8. I won't stand for all this Simmons-bashing!! Anyway, add me to the throng that won't say the words "when" "Red Sox" "win" and "World Series" together just yet. But the Cardinals couldn't have picked a worse time to play probably their worst baseball of the 2004 season. That Suppan play was something I expected PEDRO to do!! This series has been ALL about pitching. The Cardinals had good enough pitching to win 105 games in the NL, but by the looks of things, it isn't what you want for a seven game series, especially when your big bats are doing jack. I still think there's a chance this will go back to Boston (the Cards are going to have to get into the same mindset the Sox did last week). Oh yeah, there's a lunar eclipse tonight. I think I should go check if the Spam in my Y2K shelter is still fresh.
  9. Sounds like simple "one guy drives while the other shoots enemies" kinds of missions.
  10. Hey St. Lou...itians, what's the weather looking like for tonight? They're saying in Boston that it's going to rain in the afternoon, but it should taper off by gametime. I won't be too disappointed if the game is called, means more San Andreas playing time for me.
  11. .....Ay yi yi. You know there's problems when they're drawing shit in BOSTON, which is smack in the middle of WWE Country.
  12. I really like this. If you had to take a lot of time to micromanage your character, it might have turned off a lot of people, but Rockstar seems to have made it simple enough that you won't have to worry about things like that.
  13. Really, Lita IS looking a little bit "jolly" lately. Trish really needs to get her into a good aerobics program or something.
  14. Toss out Maven, put in Benjamin, and you've got something. Have they done a damn thing to improve Maven's character in the the three or so years he's been around?
  15. I looked it up. HIM? I didn't even know he pitched that many innings. Believe me, you won't guess this right.
  16. It definitely seems like this one is flying in under the radar. I haven't even seen a single commercial yet, although that will probably change tonight during RAW and MNF and maybe during the World Series games as well. I'm grabbing it tomorrow, late birthday present.
  17. Tom Hanks, Sox fan 4 life baby!! I hear he told stories about being in the stands in 1975 watching Fisk's homer hit the pole during the filming of A League of Their Own.
  18. Wow, Terry's taking it to the media right now. A reporter asked about the defensive substitutions he made late in the game and wondered if that was because of all the errors, and Terry answered "You haven't been watching us that much, have you?", since he does that almost every game.
  19. So far, this isn't the classic series I thought it was going to be. From the Sox defensive woes to.....I don't know WHAT'S up with the Cardinals (not bunting once on Schilling? WTF?), but they have to get it together real soon, or we're not going back to Boston.

And then the stories about the players complaining about Coughlin's approach will resurface. You think the Cowboys are regretting not drafting Stephen Jackson now? They can't keep relying on Vinny to carry the offense, but they have no one good to give the ball to.

    NFL Week 7

I was actually referring to Sowell's fumble in the 1st half, which I thought led to the Patten TD, but I was wrong. But the Jets did shoot themselves in the foot a few times (12 men on a punt, the roughing the passer penalty (yes, it was debatable), and that kept the Pats in drives.

    NFL Week 7

Pats/Jets has turned out as advertised: close and hard-fought. The Pats, as usual, waited for their opponent to make a mistake, and then crammed it down their throat.
  23. I merged the two threads, just because.

    NFL Week 7

I saw on my CBS live game thingy that Byron got injured. Is it serious? I don't want to have to rely on Jake Delhomme for my fantasy team.

    NFL Week 7

Jags and Colts are tied at 24. Fuck you CBS, fuck you NFL for your shitty network rules.
