  1. I know. You'd think bringing a lasso onto the ice and tying up an opponent would warrant more than a 2 minute minor.
  2. Part 2 is basically them as the 1980 US hockey team with Finland taking the place of the USSR. Disney actually ripped themselves off with Miracle. Rocky III is the best of that series as it doesn't drag like the first two movies did and has the best all-around story: Rocky's on top, is humbled, struggles with fighting while actually having responsibilites in his life and without the man he trusted for guidance and finds redemption in the end.
  3. If you have Comcast, I believe MLB Extra Innings is free this week, so you should be able to watch every game.
  4. Can we make this thread a classic? What other thread is ever going to allow Marney and EHME to BUTT heads like this?

    Xbox 360

Yeah, I've never been a huge shooter guy, but COD4's multiplayer is too damn fun and the controls are responsive and easy. GTA4 is coming at the end of next month, but you can grab Saints Row for $30 if you want a warmup. My tag is PKIsLive if anyone wants to add me as well.
  6. Stockton is the whitest athlete in history. Geekiest? Curt Schilling: has a blog, stays up all night playing WoW, started a game designing company. Geek.
  7. AL East: Boston New York Toronto Tampa Bay (until they actually put this whole thing together, I'm not buying it) Baltimore Notes: Cut and dried here. Baltimore will lose 110 games. AL Central: Cleveland Detroit (WC) Minnesota Chicago Kansas City Notes: Why Detroit for the Wild Card? More bad teams to beat up in their division than the Yankees. AL West Anaheim (fuck Los Angeles) Seattle Oakland Texas NL East Mets Philadelphia Washington Atlanta Florida NL Central Chicago Milwaukee (WC) Cincinatti St. Louis Pittsburgh Houston NL West Arizona Los Angeles San Diego Colorado San Francisco Notes: As it has been the last few years, the top four teams will probably be within 5 games of each other by season's end. I'm going with Cleveland over the Mets in the Series.
  8. Rock Band Wii Edition official I can finally tell people at work that, yes, this damn game is (eventually) on Wii as well.
  9. Funny: Boston bars will be open at 6AM for the game, but state law forbids them from actually serving alcohol until 8. Red Sox fans watching games sober? This is going to be a new experience for many people. I'll at least be able to catch the end of the game before I go to work at 10 and catch the replay at night since I would assume either ESPN or NESN will re-air it. EDIT: Why did they pick Oakland anyway? From what I've read nobody in Japan gives a shit about them. Why not pick the Mariners who have Ichiro and play in an area with a heavy Asian population? Dice-K vs. Ichiro would have them turning people away from the Tokyo Dome.
  10. The Dunkin' Donuts Center (or "The Dunk") in Providence, Rhode Island. Nobody will ever move me from this opinion.
  11. Since it's basically three games in one (guitar, drums, singing) and you can download new songs (of which there are nearly 100 available already), yeah, I think it's worth it. I'm picking it up in a few weeks since I have a 15% off coupon at Toys R Us (where I work) to go along with my employee discount, so I'll save a good $40 on it.
  12. I was watching the historical highlights available on March Madness On Demand and a question came to mind: In 1983 against Houston, what the fuck was NC State trying to do in the final 30 seconds? All they were doing is throwing the ball around the parimeter before one guy realizes there's a few seconds left and throws it up from near halfcourt. Luckily, his teammate was there to put it in. I mean, was that the worst play that actually worked out in history?
  13. For those wondering what games will be aired in your area tomorrow, click the links below (all are PDF files, so you need Adobe Acrobat or something similar). Window 1 Window 2 Window 3 Window 4 Though as was stated above, you really should sign up for MMOD if you can.
  14. Sounds like the A's are also protesting this. I guess MLB isn't even chartering a plane so their families can join them, which is even more ludicrous. EDIT: They're playing their exhibition game against Toronto now, so I guess things got cleared up.
  15. Emphatically, I might add. God this team is fun to watch.
  16. Just go to CBS.com to watch it. The episode title is "No Tomorrow"
  17. It is. My mother's maiden name is Barnes and she mentioned him when the movie first came out.
  18. My cousin was one of the Brady kids in those Brady revival movies that came out in the 90s. I think he was either Greg or Peter, I'd have to check. EDIT: He played Greg.
  19. There's a demo available on XBox Live. I tried it out and the pitching controls seemed like they were going to take forever to get used to, but on my second game I was getting the hang of it. I'll probably pick it up once the price drops to $40.
  20. Baseball Between the Lies by Bob Carroll is a fun read. He dispels some of the myths of baseball in chapters like "Five Great Things That Never Happened in a Baseball Game", rants on the Hall of Fame in "The Hall of Fame is Shafting My Youth" and even brings up OPS and Adjusted OPS, stats that weren't that commonly used back in 1993 (when it was published).
  21. I'm stuck with the prospect of 2K8 since I'd like to play online and I doubt many will be on PS2 for it. I read IGN's review, but the guy seemed to harp on the fact that it wasn't "authentic" enough. All I want to know is if fielders don't boot simple catches anymore and I don't hit 43 homers a game like in 2K6.
  22. I set up my XBox Live account today, so if anyone wants to throw down in COD4 my Gamertag is PKIsLive
  23. I guess coaching contracts in the NFL are as nebulous as the players' since I can't find a definitive list, but I think it's Mike Holmgren.
  24. Red Sox upped Terry Francona for three more years with team options for '12 and '13. He really deserves it.
  25. Which is the cheapest route to go? I'll pay the $100 for the Wireless Adapter if I have to, but if I can save a few bucks, so be it.
