This man speaks the truth. Somebody’s playing a huge joke on Kobe and the NBA. The punch line will come after game 6 of both series. Although a part of me would like to see Boston advance so the Spurs could knock off the NBA/media’s darlings in one postseason. It would arguably be the greatest/toughest path to an NBA title in history IMO.

Obviously if this was a Cubs no-hitter and I bitched about ESPN cutting into a May Red Sox-Royals game, Czech would be all over me with the "Boston isn't the center of the universe" spiel. Bottom line: In those precious, season-changing innings people didn't see (which was at most, an inning and a half, I believe), the Cubs padded their lead by two runs and Houston went down 1-2-3 in their half. I can see how this destroys the fabric of baseball. Nobody missed the Edmonds catch or the inside the park homer.

Forgive me if this interrupts the Arena Football talk, but THIS is what I've been wanting Lester to do ever since he came up; not pitch a no-no, of course, but attack the zone and get ahead of hitters with regularity. He always seemed to nibble way too much when he has the stuff to challenge guys and get strikeouts; as the game went on, he was just blowing Royals away left and right and getting stronger. I hope this is the start of something really good with him.

This series has had two of the worst-played, poorly officiated games (game 1 and game 6) that I have ever seen. I turned the game off at halftime and just listened to the radio call the rest of the way because I couldn't stand watching that crap any more. The ECF won't go past 5 games regardless of who wins Sunday,

It's like the Arcade is for people that can't find a Wii and just decide "well, this one has games included too, so why not?" If you want to download even one demo from XBox Live you absolutely need a HDD. I usually say when asked that the Arcade is only for those who don't want to go online AT ALL and just want to play games. Though then you miss out on the content updates and patches and everything.

He hits on a lot of the issues I have with the game: the whole "relationship" system does get kind of tedious once you unlock all the islands and have to drive all the way from Alderney to the first island if, say, Brucie wants to go out. Now I either phone up Roman for the free cab or just hail one myself.

It's appropriate since the Rays are the only team in the division that's showing anything close to consistency so far.

So the NFL released Matt Walsh's tapes. Mark Schlereth and Cris Carter are about ready to lynch Belichick in the town square since they think they used them DURING games when the tapes look like they were edited afterwards to mix in the game tape and signals. EDIT: Goddell speaking now. The Rams walkthrough story is officially bullshit. Knowing that, John Tomase (Herald reporter that brought up the story the day before the SB) should be fired by the end of the day. Walsh also illegally scalped Super Bowl tickets. Wow. What a load of nothing. This story is o-v-a. The tapes weren't used during the games. They were in Walsh's possession the whole time. Schlereth and Carter look like even bigger idiots now.

Can someone who knows basketball better than me PLEASE explain this vast discrepancy between the home Celtics and road Celtics? From what I see, they are more timid on the road, can't hit free throws and disappear on defense for stretches at a time (WALLY FREAKIN' SZCZERBIAK was lighting it up at one point).

They pretty much do, considering they can't win the series unless they do win in Boston. Given that the home team is 44-15 in the playoffs so far, I think there's a little bit more to this whole home team dominance thing than you're giving credit for. No, they don't have to prove they can win in boston. they proved they can win in boston by beating boston. So did Atlanta. How did that end up for them? You don't "prove" anything in the playoffs until you actually DO it.
