here's my short list I live in Missouri Kansas is a short drive to the west. Very flat. I've been Oklahoma on a trip to a wedding in Texas. Red dirt. Oil dereks. Arkansas was cool. I was down there like 10 years ago with my dad for a Razorbacks game. Texas is hot. I was down there for a wedding once. The second time was with my grandparents in Austin over a spring break. Illinois was for like 15 minutes. Somehow, I was with family in St. Louis, and we ended up crossing into East St. Louis on the way to the Arch. I don't know how that really came about. But it was nothing like it was in Vacation. How about you world travelers?

I can't say too much, since I only played in 8th grade. But Texas High School football is pretty much one of those bizarre religious experiences, from what i've heard. Wasn't "Varsity Blues" based in Texas too?

On checking.. my Congresswoman has introduced 2 bills and two resolutions in the 108th congress H.CON.RES.34 : Expressing the sense of the Congress that private health insurance companies should take a proactive role in promoting healthy lifestyles, and for other purposes. H.CON.RES.421 : Recognizing the Liberty Memorial Museum in Kansas City, Missouri, as "America's National World War I Museum", and for other purposes. H.R.4579 : To modify the boundary of the Harry S Truman National Historic Site in the State of Missouri, and for other purposes. H.R.4736 : To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to encourage the production of independent motion picture films in the United States. but she also fell down an escalator while intoxicated and she's not running for re-election I'm sure your congressmen are better, unless your congress is sponsoring a child porn-related Constitutional amendment or if he's the son of Jesse Jackson -
ties.. Hmm.. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nati..._schools09.html Now the reason for this alert was Beslan. I'm pretty sure there was a period of two weeks or so between Beslan and this coming out. And this info was known before Beslan as well. Who here is baffled by the thought of anybody implying that these alerts are being used for politicial purposes? It's plausible. (And i'm sure our media will note this news too. Ya know)

Mike, you could make a good Vince McMahon/WWE comparison with the media. Just saying

It's more than likely that the order given to CIA agents was "find evidence that Iraq has WMDs" and such evidence did end up being used and stretched by this administration. That might be a matter of wanting somebody in your tent taking a leak or out of your tent taking a leak into your tent. Then again, maybe Bush should get some plummers.

I'm leaning towards ending the embargo on Cuba, but I don't see it destroying Castro's regime easily. Communism will end in Cuba when Fidel dies and the younger Communists go to war with Castro's brother. Then at the end, we can offer help to areas damaged. One thing I'm an advocate of is following Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11, of the US Constitution, when it comes to Congress only having the power to declare war -
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/n..._usa_zarqawi_dc and.. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml.../ixnewstop.html I can imagine why some CIA agents are mad at Bush. Pissing off CIA agents isn't usually a very good idea. There's a bit more to this, I suspect

Rob E Dangerously replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in Current Events
Term limits for congress is impractical. But with large numbers of new members and all that, there's potential for lots of sudden change. Which may not be that great. On a state level, term limits work. Since a lot of state legislators can move up to larger jobs or they can do something else. -
I was refering more to troops, medics and special forces. Not business contracts. But if you were refering to troops also. Then I guess that's bad news for Armenia, who will be joining us in Iraq soon. I guess they're getting spoils after doing nothing. Then again, I'd like it if there were individuals, from where-ever, who would work to help Iraq and help make it peaceful. It's a tough job too. It's too short-sighted to just focus on two nations. I'm sure there's capable troops out there to relieve the burden on American troops. The full quote, which the Washington Times doesn't mention, is "Now, does that mean allies are going to trade their young for our young in body bags? I know they're not, and I understand that. What it means is that we have to get them to take on different roles" Yeah.. nations won't be limited to just troops and yeah.. nations won't be tempted if their only option involves a huge risk. The exceptions are out there. Jordan would be a useful ally. I know the Saudis won't do anything. But then again, what about a nation like Egypt. They're a nation which we give huge amounts to aid to. There's ways to persuade them. Even if it may inflame some of the more terroristic groups. How about Turkey too?
-
well.. didn't the major combat operations end in Iraq? Wouldn't these nations be participating in the reconstruction efforts.. stuff that gets Iraq on their feet. I think we have the potential to get some nations in to relieve the burden on America. 87% of Coalition troops in Iraq are Americans. Not to bash the nations there, because many of them are giving as much as they can, but we can do better and build on this coalition. I think the closest thing to a Muslim-majority state helping us in Iraq is Azerbaijan. There's Muslim states hostile to the idea of rebuilding Iraq, but there have to be more that would welcome a stable Iraq, especially for the purpose of trade. Although i see how some of the countries aren't fans of democracy, but I'm sure there's willing states. Anyways, even if the war was a bad idea, that doesn't mean we shouldn't help Iraq right now. We should make the best of this situation in Iraq.

Will the deadly ink factor in to this? -
It would be closer to a perfect response had Bush not talked over the moderator of the debate to make it it's Red meat but Bush's base isn't enough for a victory anyways. But there's some people who wouldn't mind saying the President was "wild-eyed" and all that. Bush in his 30 seconds didn't have enough time to start naming off all the nations before screaming.
