I have a question for you guys... I know the RWTL this year sucked the meat missile and all, but one of the matches I was looking forward to hearing about was Kojima and Kea vs. Ohtani and Tanaka. Was that any good? Oh, and if you wanna talk ROH, I agree with the 3/30/02 Dragon/Daniels match. That was a FANTABULOUS match. But yeah, this year has not been kind in the ol' MOTYC department to our dear xenophobic friends across the Pacific. Let's see if 2003 can't be a better year, eh?
-
So no mention of the much ballyhooed Tanaka/Ohtani Fire Festival match>?
-
True, but wouldn't a last run with the TC by Kawada be a good way to end it? Just coming back and losing to Mutoh wouldn't do much and would leave a bad taste in many people's mouths...
-
He looked OK in the 2001 matches, but he didn't look like the cheating rudo-like god that people made him out to be.

Another classic forgotten WCW PPV, especially Booker T Vs Rick Martel and Booker T Vs Saturn both kick ass. But the real MOTN is Benoit Vs DDP in DDP's best match ever possibly. Yes, it's his best, but I find his performance against Goldberg at Halloween Havoc to be his shining moment, since, you know, he was against GOLDBERG and carried him to a 4-Star match. THINK ABOUT THAT! DDP carries somebody to a **** match. Whoa...unbelievable. Oh, and Benoit/DDP's greatest quality...why Lodi's sign of course "Benoit, we knew you would lose." As SK put it, "Work, shoot, it's all the same thing."
-
All I know is that you guys think he's a great performer in that ring and I want to see what all the fuss is about.
-
J Crown is from 96?

I think people forget THE part of the PPV that just creeps the FUCK out of me...Raven smiling while he passes out from the Crossface. Saw a video of that and was like HOLY SHIT.
-
First off...the 3.0 an across-the-back neckbreaker, and it isn't in the game. The Overdrive is Elix Skipper's Play of the Day and is the only move out of the two that is in the game. Thank you. Proceed.

Yeah...um...what gives? That's a WWE poll...now if that was on another site...MAYBE I would believe it...
-
Jericho has put up with too much crap since the year started...my RAW MVP. Second place goes to RVD, who had the World title won TWICE...but was rebuked both times by those young'ns...the Undertaker and HHH.

You can only hope for the worst, notJames...

All I can say is... this isn't WCW...Linda and Vince said so.

DAMES! It's been 20 or so pages since I've posted on this thread! Ya miss me?

I'm ashamed at the lack of Billy Crystal...

Leave it up to the creative genius that is Brian Sabean to make me, the Giants consumer, to feel absolutely stupid. Today, in a brilliant move, they don't offer arbitration to either Reggie Sanders OR Kenny Lofton. And in a way to further spit in the face of Jeff Kent, an MVP from two years ago and a legit 30-100 guy until he retires, they go out and sign center fielder Marquis Grissom, who can't do anything close to what Lofton can do, and then sign second baseman Ray Durham, meaning that Kent is probably not even going to resign after the Giants offered him arbitration. This makes me feel disgusted to know that instead of having Lofton, Aurillia, Kent, and then Bonds to start my lineup off, I'll have Durham, Grissom, Aurillia, and then Bonds. Not exactly the 100 homers to start off a lineup like my NL champs the year prior. Man, sometimes being a baseball fan sucks...
-
I just don't see Sabean giving Kent $12 million a year. I mean, if they don't, then that's a whole lot of production going down the toilet. Kent HAS to be resigned. If they don't sign him back, that means BOTH Baker and Kent are gone. Kent is a great player and an asset to this team. I say you lock him up like you did with Bonds. Give him 4 years at $50 million. That's how I would do it. That way, Bonds and him will both be free agents, and that way, we'll all be happy.

^is fuckin unfuckwithable...whatever the hell that means...and I'm sorry but it's true K...it's DAMN true.

Paul London needs to be signed right now and he needs to be in that Cruiserweight division. I swear Vince sucks when it comes to ACTUAL TALENT searches... -
Tritec...do you take Chris Benoit as your lawfully wedded...well...thing? FUCKING CLASSIC

The Mutoh/Hase match is ****. Hase made you BELIEVE that Mutoh's offense was the most devastating thing known to man. Awesomely methodical match.

I've only been to one event...the 6/17/02 RAW in San Jose...yes, the RAW that showed that Austin wasn't coming back anytime soon. I marked out for RVD's five star, and then EDDY~! coming out to Stone Cold's music, I was dumbfounded until they changed the music...and then I laughed my ass off. Oh yeah, and that night, they brought back...THE ROCK. JOY!

OK. The Akiyama bump in question: It was the 12/23/00 match with Kobashi...totally Vertical Burning Hammer, hardly any protection. Jun was DEAD after that move. And I agree. His stuff from what I saw in my Best of Japan 2001 wasn't thoroughly great. I do however think that CONSIDERING THE CIRCUMSTANCES (Akiyama being kinda pussy-like and Misawa being broken down) 7/21/01 was at the most, a watchable match. It isn't a match that screamed, "THIS MATCH FUCKING SUCKS!", but it certainly could have been better. A WHOLE lot better. Head drop Trivia: Kobashi has only hit the Burning Hammer three times: Twice on Misawa and once on Akiyama.
