  1. Eh, Savage might be fun for a little while, especially since he hasn't been on TV in almost 6 years. Nash is so beyond done though...
  2. Yeah, because this worked out SO well when Nitro tried it... RAW is tough enough to sit through 2 hours on some weeks, if it means waiting until Sunday night to see a Rico vs. Rosie match, so be it...
  3. Orioles vs. Mariners at Baltimore has been rained out tonight. Gives our bullpen a chance to recover at least...
  4. Can you buy season's tickets? shuddup... A couple years ago every game I went to (like 7 or 8) was either delayed or postponed by rain...crazy...
  5. Good for him. He wasn't happy with his career, so he's going to do something he's wanted to do anyway, and maybe make some of these stiffs they're calling up better in the future. Plus, he left the possibility open in the future that he might wrestle again once he gives his back some rest...
  6. In summary, Satelite's advantage is in quality, since all channels are digital instead of analog (cable just the "digital" channels are). If you're a football fan, Direct TV has exclusive rights to the NFL Season package, and there is a regional sports package so you can watch other sports teams from various regions as well (pending local blackouts). Satelite is generally cheaper as well. I have digital cable and think it's the way to go. Especially if you are in a stormy area. Everything I've heard is that the two problems with satelite are that it goes out during storms, and you need a clear path to the satelite, so in fact trees, etc. could effect the signal. I don't know how TW is but I have Comcast and in terms of movie packages and PPVs it matches and might even exceed the choices of satelite. The best feature is Video On Demand, which is a digital library of shows and movies avaliable to start watching at any time and can be paused and fast forwarded like a video tape. If you are a wrestling fan, I would want to have this since WWE On Demand is coming and I don't know how satelite could offer it. They also have new TiVo style boxes too, so you don't have to buy a seperate TiVo and subscribe. Just pay 10 dollars extra a month and you have a digital recorder. The music channels you mention are a library of non commercial, digital quality radio stations playing a variety of genres. Its like XM Radio only through the cable. Probably the best thing about cable is you can bundle your cable TV with high speed cable internet for one low price (lower than say getting Direct TV and then paying a seperate company for DSL). Now, if you don't want a high speed internet (I dont know why you wouldn't though), its not an issue I guess. So, I would def. go with cable, especially given your weather situation. Video On Demand is exclusive to digital cable and is awesome and you still get all the movie packages and sports packages (well except NFL), that you would get with Satellite and you can bundle cable internet with it for one low price.
  7. Pin this week in baseball, unpin fantasy.
  8. I had to have tickets for the O's worst showing of the season. The offense was mostly dead (but of course we're facing the reigning AL Cy Young), and the pitching was just not doing anything right. O well. I'm 0-2 in live O's games. As for the Yankees, as wonderfully tickled as I am to see the Yankees struggling to maintain respectability, I really wish they could have cooled down the Red Sox since the O's 2 losses, combined with Boston's 2 wins have left Baltimore in 2nd place. O well, try again tommorow...
  9. The Observer reported that Russo is writing the script for the shows, hands the scripts to Jarrett and Mantell who edit it and make the final product.
  10. Oh well, O's lose in 12 innings 4-3 to Toronto. Can't win 'em all...just wish Boston would start losing. Come on Yankees! Your incopetence is costing the O's first place!
  11. You know Hartfan has a point. Several people say Rock/Hogan was edited on the WMx8 disk even though it wasn't and if we just went on one person's opinion, we'd all believe it. Perhaps, he just had a distorted memory, and it didn't sound as impressive since he knew it would happen? I'm reserving judgement until I get the DVD myself, but I'm not totally convinced they edited the crowd... I still haven't gotten an answer if they edited Jericho's slip off the top rope right before Trish comes out?
  12. Would it have killed them to include Benoit's post-show celebration with his family or something?
  13. As mentioned, their deal is on a trial basis with renewal dependent on drawing decent ratings, so they're keeping the PPVs as a safety net until they get a long term TV deal. I'm really liking Monte Brown too. Still very green but the guy is so intense, I truly believe he's going to rip someone's head off whenever he speaks. Plus the promo he cut this week during the FBI warning threatening anyone who steals cable will get THE POUNCE~! was one of the funniest things I've seen in a while.
  14. Why did this need to be posted? The full interview is up in the WWE folder, and we know that Flair hates Russo, and the fact that he hates "that high flying stuff" and Raven (2 of the most universally liked aspects of TNA) shows how out of touch he is. Hardly "RIPPING" into TNA....geez...
  15. Sanders had heat with everbody...
  16. Hell, I can see the O's and the Sawx challenging each other for first all year. Me too!
  17. No, the crowd is still incredibly partisan. It hasn't been touched.

  19. ignores useless and predictable Jarrett bashing Whooo!!! Just watched the tape of this week's show, and boy I'm thrilled I was able to avoid that spoiler in the last couple days! What can I say, TNA comes through big time! Glad AJ got the belt, clean too (Russo was as much as a distraction as Naitch and Benoit were in the HHH/Benjamin match). I do think it was a little silly to advertise Harris for the match, which turned off a lot of people from ordering the show. Maybe this will encourage some of the TNA doubters to tune in, because you never know what might happen. AJ/Raven for the NWA title is gonna be an AWESOME feud. Jarrett can now feud with Harris/Abyss/Truth who all are built as viable contenders for the near future. Oh and America's X-cup IV sounds insane. I love it. I'm tired and don't feel like typing much more, but I'm very happy with the current direction and excited about the future...
  20. Is Jericho's botched butterfly superplex before Trish comes out edited out too? That's really disappointing news about the edited Brock/Goldberg match. The crowd reaction was a serious mark out moment and one of the most memorable Wrestlemania moments ever. Without that its just a boring, meandering match. I'll wait till my DVD comes though, becuse the people who say the Rock/Hogan reaction was edited are dead wrong, its totally the same, so who knows.
  21. Train Kept A Rollin' all night long baby! "Got to find a way"- Lee Mazzilli, manager of the 1st place, AL East Baltimore Orioles.
  22. I don't know every case, since I'm not exactly as dedicated to it's downfall as moveon.org or something, but I do know it was used in an investigation of a Las Vegas strip club owner, an event I remember seeing in their local news when I was planning my Feburary trip. The guy has no ties to terrorism whatsoever, and it's use was later criticized. Um... so you don't mind that the guy is being investigated for some pretty serious political corruption charges? If this helps the investigation and gets corrupt officials out of office, isn't this something good? And why does this seem like something that can be widely used on the normal American Citizen? Exactly. Don't do anything wrong and you'll have nothing to fear! They're not going after petty crimes here...
  23. Is it wrong of me to be most upset that Kim Jong Il passed through the station before hand missing the explosion by just hours?
  24. Styles

    Holy Cow

Well, these are the same people who still have those amongst them that refuse to believe Japan lost WWII. At least they don't do "honor killings"...
  25. Orioles win again! 7-6 over Tampa Bay. John Parrish, BJ Ryan and Jorge Julio were today's unhittable combination out of the best bullpen in baseball. Rafael Palmeiro hit a homerun and Miguel Tejada doubled in a couple too. Baltimore back in 1st place 1/2 game above Baaahston. On to beat up Toronto again this weekend!
