hold you horses there champo. Where do you get the similiarities of (per your example) Albatross and any Metallica songs other than the fact that they are both hard rock/metal? Actually it would be more the first one, that had a very "Load"ish type of chuggish blues sound to it, and Pepper's voice and inflections remind me a lot of Hetfields. Just personal observation I guess? Oh, and I know NWOBHM, but what is NOLA?

The O's have a proud and storied history. Since inception in 1954 they have won 3 world series, 6 American league titles and 8 division titles. They have 5 AL MVPs, 6 Cy Youngs, 7 Rookie of the Years, and 5 Hall of Famers (Earl Weaver, Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson, Jim Palmer and Eddie Murray-soon Cal Ripken will make 6). Anyway, I'd say Baltimore has a pretty proud tradition. Fun Fact: The original AL Baltimore Orioles, formed in 1901 became...the New York Yankees! So, if we're mocking Yankee history, can I mock that all of this wouldn't have been possible without your franchise's rootes in Baltimore? Oh, Fun Fact 2: Babe Ruth is from Baltimore and we have a giant statue of him outside our stadium and the OFFICIAL Babe Ruth museum across the street. This is fun!

Well, after doing a Google search for the largest US markets, here are the top 5 without a baseball team (first # is overall rank in US): 8 Washington, DC (Hagrstwn) 19 Sacramnto-Stktn-Modesto 20 Orlando-Daytona Bch-Melbrn 24 Portland, OR 25 Indianapolis Use that info how you like...

And for the final improvement, the future Yankees will now play...in New Jersey! Featuring new New Jersey Yankees hat and logo!

This is one of those bands I've always heard about but never actually heard, until hearing a couple songs ("Zippo" and "Albatross") and both in voice and style they remind me a lot of late 90s Metallica (I'm a huge Metallica fan and have love for all their album, I've heard it all so just save it). So, is anyone into this band? Furthermore any reccomendation of which cd to start with?

Perhaps, but I'd rather see them destroy history with my "Hank Yankee" idea. Oh yeah, and the pants would be silver. (Let's see how angry we can get Anglesault) ...and spandex.

Well that means the next Hamas leader has to meet his doom by choking on vomit. No. Just vomit. I never said it was his own. Police haven't confirmed WHO'S vomit it was that he choked on...

Why do I sense a horrible sketch with Kurt walking around like he's fine, Random Jobber: Kurt...are you...ok? Angle: Of course, never felt better! What? What are you looking at? Random Jobber: Nothing. Kurt walks away unaware of the gaping hole in the back of his head with "brains" oozing out...

Why don't you know what year it was? Come on it was like 1, maybe TWO years ago. Hard to remember that far back...

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy... Oh, shutup, shutup, shutup... Glad his wish came true... Full article: Hamas Leader Killed in Israeli Airstrike Saturday, April 17, 2004 GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — An Israeli missile strike killed Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi (search) as he rode in his car Saturday evening, hospital officials said. Rantisi's son Mohammed and a bodyguard were also killed in the attack. The militant Hamas leader was one of Israel's top targets after it assassinated Hamas founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin (search) in an airstrike last month. Rantisi's car was hit with missiles Saturday evening on the road outside his home, leaving only the burned, destroyed vehicle. After the explosion, Israeli helicopters were heard in the area. Rantisi was taken to the hospital in critical condition, his body pocked with bloody wounds and blood streaming from his head and neck. He was taken to emergency surgery but died five minutes after arriving at the hospital. Palestinian officials lashed the Israeli strike. "We condemn in strongest possible terms this Israeli crime of assassinating Dr. Rantisi. This is state terror, and the Israeli government is fully responsible for the consequences of this action," Palestinian Cabinet minister Saeb Erekat (search) said. Witnesses said there were three people in the car at the time of the explosion. Five pedestrians were also wounded, hospital officials said. The dead included Akram Nassar, 35, Rantisi's personal bodyguard and his son Mohammed, 27, hospital officials said. Rantisi's wife was in the car, but her condition and location was not known, hospital sources and Hamas said. About 2,000 angry Palestinians marched through the streets carrying pieces of Rantisi's car shouting, "revenge, revenge." Shooting was heard in the center of Gaza City and people were chanting Rantisi's name. "This blood will not be wasted," said Ismail Haniyeh, a Hamas (search) leader at the hospital. "We are not going to give up." Rantisi is Hamas' top leader in Gaza and one of the most hard-line members of the militant movement who rejects all compromise with Israel and calls for the destruction of the Jewish state. Israel had previously tried to kill Rantisi June 10 when three Apache helicopters fired at least seven missiles toward Rantisi's car in a crowded Gaza thoroughfare, reducing his vehicle to a scorched heap of metal. Rantisi escaped with a wound to the right leg. Two Palestinian bystanders were killed. In a retaliatory attack the next day, 16 Israelis were killed in a Hamas homicide bombing in Jerusalem. Israeli officials justified the attack as part of the ongoing battle against militants who have killed more than 900 Israelis in attacks over the past 3 1/2 years of violence. "We have to continue this war, every time and every place. And this story with Rantisi shows how the army can get everywhere. We have to continue, we have no other choice," Cabinet Minister Gideon Ezra (search) told Israel Radio. Israel has stepped up strikes on Hamas in advance of a proposed unilateral pullout from Gaza. Israeli officials have said they hope a string of military successes to show that the militant group was not driving it out of the coastal strip. The explosion occurred Saturday night a block from Rantisi's house in the Sheik Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City, about 100 yards from where Hamas founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin was buried after Israel assassinated him last month. Since then, Israel has vowed to kill the entire leadership of the Islamic militant organization. Israeli sources said Saturday they struck at Rantisi at the first available opportunity and said he was planning a large attack on Israel to solidify his leadership of Hamas and to retaliate for Yassin's killing. Israel has been on high alert for a homicide bombing since Yassin's March 22 killing. After Rantisi was killed, Israeli prisons holding Palestinian prisoners went on high-alert, fearing possible riots. During the mourning period for Yassin, Rantisi was defiant about Israel's threats against him. "We will all die one day. Nothing will change. If by Apache or by cardiac arrest, I prefer Apache," he said.

A team that plays together, wins together. Outside distractions only hinder concentration. Kenny Lofton is already giving you guys trouble, I know from experience what a pleasent guy Mussina is (blaming everyone but himself for his losses), and I'm counting the days until the inevitable Jeter/Arod lovers quarel. Trading away Alfonso Soriano and Nick Johnson will come back to haunt you. Those are players you build around. How's Enrique Wilson doing at 2nd? I can't imagine why a player who's every move is scrutinized in every newspaper, and a team who's owner has a caniption if they perform any less than World Series champions would possibly be performing below expectations...
-
Could it be a group of broken down, overpaid and overrated prima donnas with no team chemistry or camaraderie and devoid of any youth after they were all traded away failing to produce to their bloated expectations amongst the most high pressure and scrutinizing media market in the world under the watch of a curmudgeon perfectionist as an owner?

This is a very strong PPV, especially considering it is a single brand show. Judgement Day has a lot to live up to with this lineup. I think one thing I'm really curious about is how they handle the ring introductions. Like for Benoit, are they REALLY going to say "from Atlanta, Georgia"? I wouldn't be suprised if for one night they actually announce the Canadian home towns, because doing otherwise with the crowd would just look stupid. I'm excited about the show, and I'll throw in my quick predictions: First of all since there's only 7 matches, I predict one more to be added. I'm thinking Eugene makes his debut against Rob Conway (since they have the issue from RAW) and the match will be set up on HeAt. If this happens, Eugene will win. I'm just pulling this out of my ass, but it's a hunch. Ok, card official: Chris Jericho vs. Christian/Trish: I'm thinking this is the opener, because really none of the 7 matches are really opener material, but I can see them putting this on first to get a hot match and a big Canadian pop. Jericho lost at Mania, I don't see why he wouldn't get his win back here. Winner: Jericho Star Prediction: ***1/4 Lita vs. Victoria: Get this one out of the way early. I'll be shocked if they go more than 5 minutes or if there are less than 3 blown spots. Lita is just not good out there and Victoria's not the one to carry her. I don't see the point of this match either. Winner: Victoria Star Prediction: 1/4* Shelton Benjamin vs. Ric Flair: This one might be a sleeper hit. Flair has been on lately and Shelton will be fired up for his first singles PPV match. Shelton will go over strong here, there's no point in doing otherwise. Winner: Shelton Banjamin Star Prediction: *** Kane vs. Edge: I don't see much out of this one, especially with Edge's broken hand, but he'll get a nice return pop. I don't see them putting either over, especially since the cast stipulation gives them an out. I have a feeling Johnny Nitro will be named the special referee to give the DQ and take the post match beating. Winner: Kane by DQ Star Prediction: ** Mick Foley vs. Randy Orton: I have no idea what to expect in this one, but I have a feeling it will be fun and much different than everything else on the show. I think Orton has his first big blade job here. I think with all the references to the Japanese death matches, Foley pulls out something he hasn't used in WWE like a bed of nails or tack boards or something crazy. I never doubt Foley in a big match, and Orton will get the rub from the win. Winner: Randy Orton Star Prediction: **** Tajiri vs. Coach: Buffer match between the streetfight and the main event. Coach will talk some smack, Tajiri will do his comedy spots and win. I don't know why they would put an announcer over. Winner: Tajiri Star Prediction: DUD HHH vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit: If you thought the crowd was behind Benoit in New York...the crowd is going to be so amazing for this, I can't wait. They went all out and delivered a hell of a main event at Mania that might have been 5 stars. They'll be out to top it this time. All 3 work very well with each other, and Im expecting nothing less than another excellent match with tremendous atmosphere. Oh, and as for the result, come on...they can't be that stupid...can they? Winner: Chris Benoit (over Michaels since HHH rightfully won't job twice). Star Prediction: ****1/2 So those are my not too detailed thoughts and predictions. This has the potential to be a very good show, and on paper 4 matches look like they can be excellent. With the leaner card, this might produce the same rate of good matches that Mania did but with less filler. I'm looking forward to it!

Calvin Pickering Oh man, been there, done that...

Boy, I don't know whether to be prouder of Matt Riley's 1 hit, 7K outing or the O's offense delivering 11 runs. Good time to be an Orioles fan!

Their owner has a coronary if they don't win the World Series, that should put things in perspective...

I guess Vince was telling the truth when he said "I'm gonna kill my creation".

[email protected] WWE.com reported earlier today that Steve Austin was no longer with the company. While the news is three weeks old, the web site report does have significance because negotiations between the sides broke down today. It is expected that Steve Austin will be joining Bill Goldberg with Pride's Hustle series. Austin and Pride have been negotiating for a while and earlier this week were very close to a deal. Pride has pro wrestling events on 5/8, and again in July. It is not confirmed yet if Austin will make the 5/8 date but that was being talked about. Austin and Goldberg in PRIDE?

I think he is a spineless puppet who is basically an owner as de facto commisioner. He doesn't care about the good of the game, he cares about the bottom line. The imbalanced schedules and interleague play have been wretched and unfair. I can't wait for his contract to run out in 06 and hope Cal Ripken Jr. steps up and excepts the position so we can bring some credibility and class back to baseball...
-
That should tell you all you need to know... Idiots.

I'm shocked that Vince and Austin couldn't work out a compromise. Last week's Observer said that Vince and Austin were still on good terms and it was just a matter of outside projects and who gets the rights to them. Then the Torch published an update that said they reached an agreement that involved Austin getting control of his outside projects but he'd have a reduced role on TV as a result. I guess that didn't work out. Throw me in with the "he'll be back by WMXX1" crowd. Oh, and Austin to TNA will NEVER happen. Jarrett basically created TNA because him and Austin hate each other so he knew he wasn't welcomed as a result in WWE. Plus, Austin wouldn't want to piss off Vince like that. He's leaving basically on good terms and will be back, and he wouldn't be stupid enough to screw up his potential for return...
-
Yeah, this was in last week's Observer. Again, until TNA and FSN publish a press release, its not official but all signs point to it happening, which will be awesome. Again I hope Comcast Sportsnet picks it up, since that's the regional sports channel both in the DC/Baltimore and Philly areas where I split my time and they pick up some shows from FSN, so I hope they do for TNA. Anyway this will be only good news! I would think there would be a pay hike since they'll have extra revenues from the ad time they can sell. Anyway they're only working 3 dates a month now anyway since they started taping the X cup shows...

Maybe Mordechai will perform a ceremony to bring Kurt back to life. Mordechia: Rise my child! How do you feel? Angle: How do I feel? I was freakin dead! How do you think I feel?
