Kanye West - 808s & Heartbreak
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH!'s topic in Music
Actually, most real hip hop fans want something new and exciting. I don`t know if your sample extends beyond TSM, but hip hop and rap are all about self-expression and I would say most serious rap fans know this. Rap being about personal expression means your music evolves along with your own personal tastes and goals of what you try to make. This is to be expected, so I`m not gonna applaud the man for trying to do something different. The reason why it`s rare though is that the genre has gotten really decadent for the past decade or so. Raekwon trying to recreate the magic of Built 4 Cuban Linx is a pretty good example of this by using the fucking name to make some cheap hype. Just lazy in my opinion, but who knows, maybe the similarities end at the title, though I`m skeptical. I`m not hating on Kanye for trying to be different, but if it`s not that good then it`s not that good. Also I`ll attribute your comments about Nas to you being extreme to prove a point. If you really think Illmatic is the same as It Was Written is the same as God`s Son then you`re fucking dense. -
Also the 2:22 thing is REALLY fucking lazy. I`ve heard of cutting corners but that`s pretty bad.

There was this guy in my school that would always have pizza pockets and for some reason he wondered why every time it was never that warm, kind of cold on the inside in fact. It was supposed to be in the microwave for two minutes. Very basic question, but when he brought this up I asked if he was actually putting in for two minutes. He said `yeah, I`m putting it in for one hundred and twenty seconds!` After I stopped laughing, I told him that pressing 1-2-0 meant that he was putting it in for 1 minute and 20 seconds.

Hey, I haven't talked about Tindersticks in awhile.

One of the bands I'd always wanted to get into but never did for whatever reason, until I heard "Tiny Tears" on the Sopranos. I really liked that song, so I'm probably gonna pick up that album and move from there. Oh hey, old thread. -

Thing is, he was pumped up with adrenaline and quite frankly, a lot of guys in the gym would get pleasure out of doing something like that in a fight to someone. Most people would, it's in our primal nature to get a kick out of beating the shit out of someone. Feeling good about breaking his arm is no different than feeling good about knocking someone the fuck out. It's a barbaric thing sure, but it still feels pretty good. With that being said you don't have to say it out loud and a few minutes after the fact you'd think you've calmed down some. Rashad is notable for always saying he's not happy after the knockout about the fact that the guy is still ktfo (Salmon and Liddell). -
UFN: Stephens vs. Lauzon
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I didn't either but I was playing along because I know a lot of people did, so if one did find it boring, he would hardly be at fault. Didn't see the Aurelio fight though. -

One out of how many? That was more the fault of Edgar anyway. -

I don't know why anyone would want to see Franca get his ass beat. The guy is super nice and charismatic and just very likable. More importantly, he's exciting to watch. He'll never be world champion or anything, but I am always interested to watch him fight. -
I actually have a strong association between mac and cheese and KD, kind of like the one I used to have with eggos and waffles (a trip to Europe has thankfully changed that one). I've never heard of good mac and cheese.

I'd be surprised if Yoshida has much of a career after this too. He's 35 and is well known to have extended gaps in his career, and after a loss like this it will be hard for him to climb the ladder again. He's not the most motivated guy around. -

Goddamn. It should be pointed out that Yoshida's win over Kikuchi was a little weak. People forget that he was getting his ass kicked for awhile. Koscheck has better top control than Kikuchi so if he puts him on his back he won't get reversed so easily. I'm not that impressed with Yoshida off of his back based on that fight, and Koscheck is pretty good at making you uncomfortable on the ground, so we'll see how Zenko deals with that. Still think he'll win though. -

Sherdog is notoriously bad with their PBP. Every time I read it and I catch the fight later, I'm shocked at how different things look. -

Sherdog: "Saunders kicks him in the groin, they start again. Saunders is kneeing him now, good knees. Wolff is in trouble. The ref steps in at 2 minutes of the first round" Zenko knows about the overhand right? Oh shit son, he's got Koscheck scouted, Koscheck is getting submitted or TKO'ed here, probably TKO'ed. -

Okay I just figured it out; he's as close to a real life version of Sagat as you're gonna get. -

Holy shit Ben Saunders looked good in that fight. Looked in wayyy better shape than before, and it showed with how vicious and explosive he was with that clinch. Finally figured out how to use his reach too. I don't know how good this Wolff guy is, but it seems like Saunders is finally making good on some of his potential. Can't question a guy with the Killa B nickname either. -

It's so true, he actually is very skilled, athletic, strong and big for the weight class. He's just got a glass jaw. -

Fucking Goulet, all the best training in the world is useless when you can't take a punch. As if this was a secret, but I saw him get dropped by a knee that didn't look too bad in training and I knew he was toast in this one. -

Hey now, the event isn't that bad. Not crazy fights, but decent and while I don't care about the cut scenes featuring soldiers (though it's obviously a nice gesture on their part to dedicate this to the fallen soldiers fund) it's not that big a deal. Rogan did mention how much worse off Wiman would be if Miller had a full camp for this fight. As for this Razan guy, I don't know anything about him, but considering Cantwell is no good, I'll bet on the super ripped athletic black guy. -

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread

I think Sherk is a better wrestler than Fitch. More explosive, better in scrambles, more powerful and better cardio. Technically it's pretty close, but Sherk's physical gifts put him on top, P4P at least.
