I knew about the ROTR tourney, but for some guys five pounds can be huge. Anderson Silva probably couldn't handle the cut to 170 anymore despite being in that tourney I think.

I haven't seen the Okami fight, I should really get my hands on some of these dark fights. Can Okami make 170? Even a lot of people in MTL don't like Cote, too arrogant.

That's why I feel Starnes has gotten a raw deal from the UFC, and that he deserves to be built up through the ranks rather than being fed to someone like Okami. Word is he's gotten a three fight deal though, so that's cool. Okami should smash Swick, who shouldn't have gotten past Loiseau.

I'm not gonna argue with you about Lambeau Brown or Halas (I doubt you were old enough to watch them too) but he's better than Shula or Walsh. He did more with less. His Giants team had no business beating the Bills in that Super Bowl, and he's taken a variety of teams to the playoffs. He's proven that he's a winner with many different teams.

Matt Lindland has agreed in principle to fight Fedor in April. If true, that's three fights lined up for Fedor in the first four months of the year. Also, Matt Lindland has brass balls but is batshit crazy if he thinks he will take it.

Nick Diaz said on Sherdog that he was offered to go on TUF 4 the Comeback, but he responded, I don't remember exact words, but it was along the lines of how he doesn't do that faggy shit fighters do to promote themselves like paint their toenails. When Josh Gross pointed out that Chuck does it too, Nick said all non-chalant like that he's still cool cuz he let him stay in his house and cooked him some breakfast.

I am in the same boat, mostly because the BJ Penn fanboys piss me off. I used to be like this with a lot of fighters (or even org. nuthuggers which Sherdog is full of) but then I got over it. I don't care what online geeks say, the man is fucking cool and is the most naturally talented fighter in the world. I forgot about Griffin and Gomi, and I didn't consider Shaolin since he's not in the UFC. Gomi should Aoki soon though, that would be sick..or go the exact same way as the fight with Ishida did. I was surprised when I saw that one, I didn't think that Gomi would dwarf him as much as he did physically. It was like he hunched over to knock him out. Anyway, Sherk is very similar though I think he is much better defensively as far as striking goes, but his wrestling is probably worse. Griffen I haven't seen enough of. Fisher is a guy that needs to get his head straightened out, all the tools but he fights dumb sometimes.

After what he did to Ishida I don't see him getting taken down by anyone other than Penn. You have said yourself that Joe Daddy would have a tough time with him. You're right though, this is another case of PRIDE using the UFC to gain some recognition in the U.S.
