That struck me as incredibly funny. Gotta go clean the Coke off my monitor now. Yeah the GF's being summonable did make battles WAY to drawn out for me. Can't believe they didn't have a shortcut option like in X. Agreed. Seifer could've been a bitter angry badass. Instead he's a pansy that Squall beat the crap out of on several occassions. I will disagree on Squall though. I like the fact that he wasn't Mr. Cheerful. The fact that we never really found out WHY he was such a jackass was somewhat disconcerting though (unless it was the big scene when they find the orphanage they were all at. It's been a while I can't remember everything).

OK so they're not abandoning the X battle system just adjusting it a bit. And really not all that much since some actions in X (like Auron's breaks, for instance) made for more time between character actions. Sweet. September?? Ugh. Oh well with C&C Generals, DMC2, etc. I'm going to be busy for a while anyway.

Yeah ATB blows (IMHumbleO, o' course). The only other FF I've ever had a chance to play is VIII (yes I know what most people think, but I thought it was pretty good, especially the cutscenes [Fatalis Liberati and The Dance]) and it took WAAAAAYYYY to long to fight, with half the time spent waiting for the bars to fill up. The pseudo-turn based system of X was much better. BTW Yeah I got the job system but I was just hypothesizing about what the different jobs might do (pop star = bard, trickster or gambler = thief, etc.). I like the Paine picture in the Knight armor and no I don't mind playing as a female lead, especially the girls from Fear Effect . I just wish they'd say, "OK, the game is March in Japan, we've already started the English voice work, so you should have it in the States by May, with a bunch of extras to make you feel better about waiting!" Of course THAT ain't gonna happen. So I will beat FFX AGAIN, Kingdom Hearts AGAIN, go to work on C&C: Generals, and wait patiently. I still want a FF worlds based Kingdom Hearts 2 though.

It's fun when you get the wrestlers to give you some recognition. Four of us were at a Smackdown (pre-Invasion) where, if I remember correctly, DX (sans HHH) reunited for one night to face the Nitro 4. ANYWAY, the four of us had a blast on the 3rd row corner, near one of the walkways leading away from ringside. I was the only real smark, so I started falling into the habit of yelling out past gimmicks. It was real fun when Al Snow came out for his Heat match, because he started looking over and laughing with me when I got to Leif, et at. After the match he even jumped the rail and celebrated right next to me and gave me a high 5. That night we also got a thumbs up from Earl Hebner (Huge EARL chant and a Bud Light salute) and an embarrassed laugh and a wave from Lillian Garcia (another beer salute). Sure it may be kinda childish, but it lets the wrestlers know we're paying attention and appreciate the effort. Unless it's HHH, then insult away. Shoot I'd yell "Terra" until he went crazy if I thought it would work.

Few more notes from my latest GameInformer. Those are indeed the bad guys in your last pic Yuna. They are (pending changes in translation) Sano, LeBlanc, and Uno. They are members of a rival Sphere Hunter group The "entire cast" of playable characters are female. Interestingly enough, they also mention the "Job Wheel" working in CONJUCTION with the Sphere Grid. Also mentioned the jobs "Mascot" and "Pop Star". Hence the singing Yuna. Whether she acts as a bard (ie stat boosts for the others) or what isn't mentioned. Mascot sounds like a ready made job for Rikku though. Again, all this stuff may change as the game evolves, and given the time it takes to go to press I'd take it with a grain of salt, but right now it sounds like Square is still coming up with a viable advancing system. On a personal note, I'd like to say NO OVERDRIVES? WTF? NOOOOOO!! P.S. I'd love to check the movie, but with a dialup connection it would take until next week to get it. Anyone know where a zipped version is by chance?

Ugh bps you've just given me tonight's nightmare. "Hey Brian-uhh what makes you think-uhhh that RVD would take-uhhh someone as big as Kane-uhhh?"
-
Agreed as well. RVD can cut a promo when given the right setup. Taking into account the type of laid back guy he apparently is, I busted out laughing at his "I'm Mr. Muscle and Fitness! GRRR!" promo on HHH last year. That and his rephrasing of Kane a couple months ago when they were talking to the Coach show that he CAN talk when the WWE gives him the proper setup. However, since he's not the type of guy who can go out there and put the crowd to sleep with an INTENSE 20 minute ego massage, he probably won't be pushed to the top. He needs someone to play off of (ala Fonzie and/or insane Sabu) and as champ he's probably not going to get that.

I hate to say it AS, but eventually Angle will have to deal with Vince's deeply held belief that all you need are hosses. There's only so much you can do with the Smackdown 6 (heresy I know, but bear with me) before someone like the Big Hoss, Hosstaker, or Nathan Hoss (I don't include Brock because I STILL don't believe he fits the hoss label) gets thrown in there. Then when the inevitable match fails, guess who gets blamed? The one who isn't a walking pharmaceutical lab would be my guess. It's a vicious cycle that I doubt will end until a) someone else takes over the booking completely and b) that someone isn't sleeping with Terra Ryzing.

So, they spend the last what, 6-8 weeks building up how the guy did time, escaped from jail, is a huge monster, and talked about how he liked jail, and he's hoinh to be a.....FACE? WTF! I pray he turns heel ASAP and quickly disappears from the radar screen.

UFO abduction show on Fox a couple years back
Conspiracy_Victim replied to a topic in Television & Film
I remember something like that Eagan back a LOOONG (like 20 years) time ago. Scared the crap out of me as a kid. It was a fake newscast that was allegedly in real time. I missed the beginning but it went something like: a) Unidentified object spotted in space, b) Something happens and we blow it up c) Turns out it was an emissary or something, and they take it as an act of war. d) They send some kind of GIANT (like Armageddon sized) asteroid to destroy the Earth. e) We blow it up (complete with radar confirmation) and everyone celebrates in the news room. f) Then on the radar a bunch of new blips show up and everything goes quiet. They get close and closer and all you hear is the anchor say, "Oh my God...." then the screen goes black. Again, I was just a kid but it scared the everloving shit outta me that night. -
Kinda wish I finished BG or BG2. On BG I got all the way to sneaking back into the city, but kinda just stopped playing. Not sure how far I got on 2. Imogen (??) just got taken away. Always wanted to see what the endings were like, but I got pissed off making a ranger and having half my inventory taken up by freaking arrows. A weight only inventory would have been so much easier, although I imagine Black Isle wasn't looking for "easy" on their list of game requirements.

Well Lethargic it looks like Evil Clark teams up with Evil Chloe for some one on one fun. I always thought Clark oughta give up on Lana and go for Chloe myself as well. Hell, it's not like Chloe's got anything wrong with her.

Id buy that as a finisher if it was anything like Rosey's boot to the HLA girl's stomach I would too, but after the first 8 (or dozen) cruisers he squashes all get put on the injured list with broken ribs, I'm sure JR and Vince would eventually get concerned. After all, who would get turned into mat pizza if it weren't for cruisers? /WWE thinking off

SK clears it up: Stephanie's "heat" with Nidia.
Conspiracy_Victim replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
I personally like SK's reviews, although he seems to have an imbalance toward Benoit and most other Canadian wrestlers (face it, Keith would give Benoit vs. a broomstick ***1/2) and against women's wrestling because it isn't just like Japan's wrestling. Now about Steph. I agree that IF this is true, it's rediculous. Nidia looks good (although yes she sounded horrible at the TE3 finale) and looks like she is in better shape since TE1. OTOH, Steph seems to have gotten a bit..plumper. When she was the victim of the "Higher Power" angle, she looked thin and hot in the rich-girl-next-door way. Now, her body looks like it's compensating for her surgery that, as Jericho put it, "Let the boobies hit the floor!" Seriously it almost seems like her body is trying to support her *ahem* larger upper body. Just IMHO. -
BTW I remember from a RAW Magazine they had an article about Tajiri. They said he really was from Japan and had a degree from one of their more prestigious universities (maybe U. of Tokyo). I'm pretty sure that ECW had it right when they said he was from Yokohama, Japan.

I just had a sudden horrible image of HHH wrestling, say, Eddie G. after some weird trade. The match is set, both competitors are getting set to tie up, and then HHH smirks as The Fink announces, "This match will be wrestled under Bill Watts rules! No moves off of or using the top rope will be allowed!" We then get a 20 minute match of restholds as Eddie furiously tries to come up with something. HHH wins with a sleeper, the crowd boos like they just got sugar poured in their collective gas tanks. HHH blames Eddie not being able to work the correct style, Eddie jobs to Batista for the next 6 months.

Boy good to see that up and coming talent Palumbo puts over the talented new guy. I guess a cruiser can't beat a heavyweight, might put distressing thoughts in their heads like say ELEVATION. The more things change, etc. etc.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season 7
Conspiracy_Victim replied to The Dames's topic in TSM Classic Threads
Indeed, Clem rules. "C'mere girls I wanna tell you something..*makes Large Marge face*". Good to see him back. I'm so pleased Joss threw that swerve in, I just hope that they aren't going to come back to it and say it went to her first . However, since the spell didn't "surround" her in light, kinda just blasted her, I don't think they will. Decent episode, but now we get to wait 2 weeks for the next one *grumble"*. At least there's Angel. -

"Free at last, free at last, free to cane a white boy's ass!" Damn so Peanuthead is going back to being a manager. Not a bad talker, but it reamains to be seen how good he's going to be. All in all yet another subpar RAW (what a shock). -

IF (and that's a big IF) this is legit than I apologize for my earlier statement. The fact that matches are walked through beforehand and that Stacy just happened to be behind Test when the chairshot hits makes me EXTREMELY doubtful though. -

So what the hell is this supposed to do? Get Jericho over as a heel? He's done that thanks. Make Test a vengeful babyface? Who cares it's TEST! Geez if she got busted in the face by a chair she oughta at least have a blood packet somewhere. So now we get to have Test vs. Jericho for the forseeable future. I wonder who came up with that idea? -

So Jericho gets what, 30 SECONDS of offense? I thought the heel was supposed to carry the flow of the match until the big finish. Well, at least Jericho looked sorry for whacking the ringpost (and plausibly Stacy as well). -

Wow look at the Jericho build up. Too bad he's going to lose it all by losing to Test (via Shawn interference) then squashed by Michaels at a time TBD. Man Getaway and Devil May Cry 2 make me so glad to be a PS2 owner.
