I like Cro-Cop offering him a hand up after he tossed him to the ground. Nothing quite like knowing you're going to beat the shit out of the guy across from you. -
This Brown kid is doing his best Pat White impression against Rutgers.
-
Florida/Arkansas is looking more and more like a cross between NFL Street and Blitz the League with this play calling.
-
A double pass for the TD. They've gotta be drawing up plays on the turf. I refuse to believe that some of these plays are actually in a playbook somewhere.
-
Look for the other options dammit! in Madden 06, I had Lee Evans with over 2000 yards receiving in a season, 40 TDs or something like that...the other receivers were not happy with that. No wonder cyber Eric Moulds demanded to be traded. In other news, Jeff Feagles' booboo knee cased the Giants to dust off 44 year old Sean Landetta in case they have to deactivate Feagles. Now, there's got to be plenty of unemployed punters graduating from college every year. The best they could do is a guy who's probably older than half the coaching staff?

And somewhere in Norman, Dama weeps with joy. No, somewhere in Norman Dama is screaming "IF THE FUCKING REFS HADNT FUCKING TAKEN THE FUCKING OREGON GAME FROM US WE'D BE IN THE FUCKING TITLE GAME!" FUCK USC!!

Arkansas' scholar athlete of the game is a 2.8? Hmmmm. Not exactly the highest GPA I've seen. And I don't watch Florida all that much, so I'm just asking. Does Florida's offense ALWAYS look like a poorly executed Chinese fire drill? And that was horrible clock management by the Gators. Why call TO just to punt? Take the 5 yards and save the timeout. Edit: That's why they call the TO. Urban had to draw up that fumbled punt for a touchdown. It all makes sense now.
-
Urban taking a bit of a chance there I'd say.

God, too much too switch between now. WVA/Rutgers, Oklahoma/Neb., Fla./Ark. and the Rockets/Cavs game is about to tipoff. Going to be a busy night for the remote. I'm not going to see a commercial for the next two hours or so.

I believe UCLA's already accepted a bid to the Emerald Bowl or something like that.
-
In other news, Rutgers takes all of 2:10 to go up 7-0 on West Virginia.

So he's not supposed to try to get the ball? C'mon, I'm no USC apologist, but I've seen ripping and punching at the ball 100s of times in person (done it myself) and on TV, and it's not "dirty football" or "unsportsmanlike". Wow that was a cannonball of a punt.
-
Trying to punch the ball out from behind. I wouldn't call it "work(ing) the guy over". It looks like a mugging, but it's a perfectly legitimate strategy when you're desperate for a turnover.
-
C'mon USC, run that quick pitch again! Third time's the charm!
-
Why the hell do you talk shit with 6 minutes to go in the game and you're either A) only up by 4 against an explosive offensive team or B) down by 4 and blowing your shot at a national title?
-
Slide Cowan, Slide! Either that or use that white line thingy they call a "sideline". They're not allowed to hit you when you cross it.

OK, I loved Kellerman's asshole-face turn, but I have a serious problem with the Bellick storyline. There's no way he'd be able to serve his time in Fox River because of his previous employ there. He would know too many people who could sneak God knows what in to the unit to him. And, there's also no way he gets thrown in to Gen Pop. He wouldn't last a day. He'd be put in protective custody and serve his time in Ad Seg away from everyone else. It's not showing favoritism, it's common sense. As it is, you've got the warden practically asking for a homicide investigation. Not a good way to begin his tenure.

The blood spattering across the screen and the target's torso splitting in half are great effects. I'm going through Insane difficulty, and I must say it's not a whole lot different then Hardcore difficulty. They're a little bit more accurate, they duck a bit more, and you can't take quite as much damage. I do have the feeling General RAAM is going to be a pain in the ass though. He took a shitload of damage before he went down last time, I'm dreading this time.

Temple vs. Eastern Michigan in the American Standard Toilet Bowl, LIVE from Nome, Alaska!

Yeah, Dwayne Jarrett is sick.

I just saw the last play of Utah/BYU and I must say: How the hell do you drop 9 into coverage (with the LOS being from the 9 or so) and leave some guy wide open in the end zone? I realize the QB ran around to give himself time, but still...

Miami's orange vs. SJSU's horrible yellow on that blue turf might cause my TV to explode. Too bad they couldn't invite Oregon and make it a jamboree, that might be enough to cause people to spontaneously puke.

I don't know which of those two is more staggering. I'd go with Rice at first glance. I'll go with San Jose State... Rice has always had the opportunity to go to a bowl if they ever went above .500, whether it was the old Southwest Conference, their prior home in the WAC, or their current home in Conference USA. San Jose State is in the kind of crappy mid-major conference that would be lucky to get a bowl bid for anyone other than the league champ. True, but Rice has always had to play the deisgnated "play the subs" role back in the old SWC. Rice had no chance in that conference when you consider who they were stuck playing (Baylor and TCU [back then] being the exceptions]). Plus, other than the Cotton Bowl, I can't think of any bowl tie-ins the SWC had. Maybe the Holiday Bowl? I'm a bit hazy on that. Plus, Rice is a tiny school (about 2900 enrolled) with horribly stringent academic requirements. They don't get any Prop 48 kids or JUCO transfers. They get the leftover HS kids. Finally, the faculty isn't exactly on the football team's side. Every couple of years you hear about one professor or other complain about how much money the football team takes up and how they oughta drop down to 1AA. Combine that with mediocre (at least when I visited) practice facilities and I'd say they've done wonders this season.
