Chuck Woodson will get to camp about a week late. He knows a hold-out won't get him paid. I don't really get it. I realize he and Julian Peterson want financial security, but the one year tenders won't put them in the poor house and then they'll break the bank in 2005.

No, no, no, no, NO. Wait until next year. His career implosion was triggered by the pressure of pitching the playoffs, and now we're going to stick him back in the fire, when our bullpen ain't really broken in the first place? Good fucking GAWD. Ankiel will be back for the games when its 40 man rosters, and by that point none of those games will have much bearing on the playoffs. He won't be on the playoff rosters, so I'm not too worried.

As a Cards fan, I want them to pick up Urbina, but even if they don't I won't cry. Urbina would be nice as another right-handed arm getting the ball to the always "reliable" Izzy.

In the span of 1979-2004 Don Shula won 2 less Super Bowls than Joe Gibbs. Great list ESPN.

And Tigers would have been a sure fire 123 if the Twins do not clinch the division so early. Tigers beat the Twins 5 of the last 6 tumes they played (2 of Detroit's final 3 series)

I think the difference there is that the ball actually hit in fair territory before being touched by the fan. Since it touched in fair territory, it's ruled just like any other "ground rule" double and every runner, including the batter, gets two bases. I don't believe the umpire's judgment ever comes into play. Cool thanks man. I thought I had heard before that it is a judgment for situations if the runner is on first, maybe on a hit and run, so if it appears the runner would have scored (maybe this is only on balls down the line toched by fans) the ump can award the team with a run. Or maybe I am creating my own rules in my mind!

I am pretty sure Wilbon/Kornheiser are coming back Thursday, but I am not 100% sure. I liked the Kornheiser/Stephen A. combo a few weeks ago.

Anybody see the Cards-Reds game last night? I had the picture-in-picture thing going during the Ironman match so I had no sound, but I have two questions. 1. Did anybody see Jim Edmonds "ground out" in the top of 9th? I guess no real reason to bitch, but what a terrible call. 2. If the umpire has the judgment on whether or not issuing a run if a fan catches-touches a ball that goes down the line, does the umpire have to issue two bases? Last night in the bottom of the 11th, the Cards were up 9-5 with I believe one out and Adam Dunn on second base. Wily Mo Pena hit a pop up down the right field line hooking foul. Dunn held at second and Pujols couldn't get to the ball and it bounced in fair play and a fan got to the ball before Sanders could grab it. So since it is judgement call the other way, is it ever a judgment call if it happens in that situation?

Most of the flights had 40-60 people I believe, plus at least two of the flights had no idea of the intentions of the terrorists. This type of attack was one that many were not aware of. Once the planes were in the air, most of this was probably inevitable.

Damn, people are going to the movies this summer, or at least ticket prices have gone up! Anybody know how these numbers compare to last year?

Since A-Rod didn't say anything after the game, we have to think that he just lost his cool at that point. Maybe Tek got too close to him or whatnot. Fact is that Sheffield didn't have a problem with Tek walking him down to first in New York. Maybe A-Rod wanted to spook Arroyo. I think Sheff was too pissed at Pedro to even focus on Varitek. After watching the replay I lost the sympathy I had for Sturtze, what the hell was he doing going after Kapler? Although if I am a teammate I like him going out there.

Anybody think that Jarrett may interfere and set up a 3-way match for the title in the future?

Everything involving the Undertaker from Wrestlemania up until last Thursday has been stricken from the records.

Arroyo should have known better than to smirk at a guy you just hit. That's only going to instigate him. Compare it to Gordon actually cringing when he hit Nomar. If someone is glaring or swearing at you after you hit them, 99 out of 100 pitchers are going to "smirk" or say something you don't just back down.

While I do not think it was Manny level of over-reacting (the ball did hit him), A-Rod definetely should have just gone to first base.

Buck & McCarver had the great lines of "I can't quite tell what A-Rod said" Since MLB usually reduces games, do you think today lessened the chances of Ortiz getting dropped form with added games probably coming?

I figured I would wait until you guys drafted in your league to ask this. I am in a 12 team, 2 player keeper league. Last year I kept Donovan McNabb & Deuce McAllister. Obviously I am still going to keep Deuce, but I am stuck on who I am going to keep, eith McNabb or Matt Hasselbeck. Donovan McNabb Pros: - Now has Terrell Owens which should significantly increase his TD numbers. - Plays against the AFC North, which besides Baltimore, does not claim very good defenses. - Plays the NFC North is the cross-over NFC games, which also do not have great pass defenses. - Good running QB. Cons: - Had a disappointing fantasy year last year. - Eagles do not seem to have a dominant running game, which will open up the passing game as much as Seattle. Matt Hasselbeck Pros: - Great 1-2-3 WR's (Assuming they catch the balls) - Plays San Francisco & Arizona twice - Shaun Alexander opens up passing game. Cons: - Plays the AFC East in crossover games, which all have decent to great D's Thanks for checking this out, and for any input.

It's a conspiracy. Andy Reid knows if he loses in the NFC Title game he gets a free Hawaiian vacation.

Bobblehead Pedro tells Manny to cut off Johnny Damon throws.

No kidding, I guess the Yankees should have dropped the "New York" from their title during the series. And since July 2004 was the first time I heard about must mean not too many people were upset about it.

X-Pac & Chyna sex tape: That will be replacing the whale in my nightmares tonight.

Sorry for mis-reading your post, didn't realize it was after the game. I don't think it was that inappropriate, face it the Yankees are the most storied team in MLB history and NYC is the most famous city in the U.S. If you aren't a Yankee fan most don't like them. They have songs about the city and they beat them. I don't forgive Arizona for their terrible game winning "hits" versus both the Yankees and the Cardinals in 2001.

I can't believe the TV spot did not show the 45 yard field goal to tie the game. That is arguably the greatest FG in NFL history.

Good point, if I talk up Tiki enough I can even say "well I had to keep a QB", then maybe someone will take him and leave me a Domanick Davis or Rudi Johnson.

Because of his age, Sean Casey is available, and because he is 22 and has at least 3 more years of cheap pay, I think Wily Mo should be on the list.
