So what you're saying is WCW dying had nothing to do with WWE's ratings. Gotcha. The people that were leaving WCW didn't go over to WWE. They just left. Or if they did, they didn't stick around hopelessly addicted to it. Fans started leaving WWE when the product started sucking. If Shock TV was what actually drew people in, they wouldn't have stayed for 2000. More than that, it wouldn't have done better business than the shock TV years. There's no way to get around that point.

Here's a solution. Hire back all the writers from 97-00. Go back and watch the coldplay video. There's nothing corny about it. They did, in the summer of 2001. They didn't exactly get many chances to besides that. He was a heel before the Royal Rumble and he went to waste afterwards. Shawn and Bret weren't big either but Vince didn't have a problem with them. And please note that even though they aren't doing anything with him, he's still over and according to the ratings chart, brings in a ton of viewers.

Guerrero. He's massively over for no other reason than he's extremely charasimatic and fun to watch. Just think if they took him all the way and pushed him to the top. The US title for a month and getting beat by the Big Show is well, the opposite of that. Jericho could be another Shawn Michaels. He's got everything it takes, but WWE never saw it and never had a clue on how to use him. You could go back as far as Fully Loaded 2000. He stole the show with HHH, and what happened? He was stuck feuding with Kane and X-pac. Look at the last couple months. It's not as if he's been playing second fiddle to HHH. Because he's gone and nothing has changed. Now there's no top heel whatsoever. He had a semi feud this summer with Michaels that didn't go anywhere because Orton was Shawn's real enemy. Now he's been feuding for months with someone who can't even wrestle. If the WWE wants to try to make Jerichos perception changed, the first thing he needs is a big match with a clean win. That's just the beginning. Angle could have been the next Bret Hart. All they needed to do was feed this guy inferior wrestlers back to back, and just give him one title reign that was long and worthwhile. How hard is that? Yet he spent too much time being a goofy character and being a transitional champion. Twice for Brock which is just mind boggling. It's probably too late in his career now. But there's Benoit. I already covered him, but I'll do it again. The fans were willing to accept him at least three times. The first time he got injured. The second and third time, they just fucked him over completely. He does have in ring charisma, people do like him, and he's actually got decent mic skills. About as good as Bret Hart had in 92 and 93.

Jericho doesn't genuinely care about it. He just sees it as another means to mess with Austin. Perhaps that's where they're going with it. Jericho won't abuse Trish, but he will use her and she'll realize it sooner or later. Yeah, it's fine if he doesn't care. An abusive relationship makes no sense however. It would go against everything he's been doing for months. For months Jericho would lay into Austin giving the crowds logical reasons why he should be fired, why he's a hypocritical jackass, etc. It's better for him to want Austin to get fired for real reasons, instead of simply not liking him. WWE needs more shades of grey characters. It's got the asshole department already filled with Test and Steiner. I don't want to see Jericho turn into another Test.

Austin beats Stacy because she won't drink beer with him (!). If Jericho jumps on the woman beating bandwagon, people will start to not care. And if all we have on RAW are these woman abusing angles, people will walk away or will tune in casually, see what's going on, and add more fuel to the fire that "wrestling is for rednecks." Jericho needs to do something to make him stand out from the rest of the guys on RAW. no one cares about test. do you? i dont. i will remember what austin did to stacy, as well as steiner. speaking of steiner, he would work well with victoria as his main freak.
