At the moment, in the uk at least, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers are the underground darlings, along with QOTSA. They're the mainstream bands its ok to like, and as a result a lot of people are talking them up. Yeah, All the members, and the bands themselves, are undoubtedly skilled, but their newer songs are too MOR to be touted as being amazing.

Yeah, Floyd rocked. At least till roger left. My list of overated bands: Red Hot Chilli Peppers Metallica Tenacious D (yeah they're a joke band, but they still suck) Nirvana Foo Fighters. Ah, Fuck it: Anythhing Dave Grohl has ever done sucks. The guys cool, but his music is SO overated. He even turned QOTSA from great on Rated R to DIABOLICAL on their last album.
