  1. First big play to a wideout all night.
  2. And it would blow for everyone on the west coast with a 2 pm start in the middle of the week. Of course they could just keep all these games on January 1st and wouldn't have to worry about that. I hate the way they spread the games out now.
  3. USC is going to need a near perfect second half. Texas played like shit for the first 20 minutes and yet they are up 16-10.
  4. That would have been called incomplete 99% of the time. The Texas player didn't even dispute it.
  5. This could be the ballgame on this next possession. Bush is definently the goat if USC loses as that was by far the turning point at this point. Everything was going USC's way before that play. Hell it could rank up there with Chris Webber's "timeout."
  6. Big possession for USC's defense. A Texas touchdown could be demoralizing especially after all the blown opportunities by the offense.
  7. Leinart looks really bad out there.
  8. What a joke. USC HAS to score now.
  9. Now 1 for 4 tonight in scoring opportunities. You can point to these first half failures if Texas wins.
  10. Texas has just shut down the USC wideouts so far. Uh oh that's a pick, Texas ball although is it at the 1 or touchback?
  11. Trivia Question Answer: Charles White and Ron Dayne.
  12. No it didn't. His arm was under it the whole time.
  13. This is one sloppy title game so far.
  14. That's two blown chances to score for USC tonight. Very dangerous for them to do.
  15. WHAT THE HELL WAS HE THINKING??????????????????????????
  16. And Pete Carroll decides to match Mack Brown for being stupid. Seriously no reason not to kick the field goal and get an early two score lead. They just handed Texas some momentum after everything was going there way.
  17. Or have a murderous hatred for them. I'd like to beat Mickey Hatcher to death just for his Game 1 homerun where he ran around the bases like an idiot.

  19. Poor kid. Time to drop out and transfer to Division I-AA because if they lose this he'll never hear the end of it.
  20. Wide left. This will be interesting considering that figure the offenses may have to rely on field goals in the overtime. Safe to say Penn State won't be jumping the Rose Bowl loser even if they win here.
  21. The '79 Rams were probably the worst team ever to make it to the Super Bowl although they came within in a quarter of pulling off the greatest upset ever as they led the Steelers 19-17 after three. One thing about the '88 49ers is they were a completely different team the second half of the year and the postseason as Montana was in and out of the line-up and Steve Young wasn't the quarterback he'd become at that point (although did have that incredible game winning run against the Vikings). After a humiliating loss to the Cardinals to fall to 6-5 they won their next four games 128-51. They lost their regular season finale against the Rams 38-16 but they pulled all their regulars for that game as they couldn't improve their playoff spot. Then they got revenge on the Vikings 34-9 after being upset the previous year when they had a better team and then had one of the best performances I've ever seen when they crushed the Bears in Soldier Field 28-3. Their late season performance and playoff wins were impressive enough where they were actually heavy favorites over the Bengals even though Cincinnati was the best team in the NFL for most of the year.
  22. 1988 had to be one of the weakest quarterback classes ever as not only was there none selected until the 3rd round, there were none taken in the 4th & 5th rounds. Here's all the qb's drafted that year: 3rd Round 68. Tom Tupa, Ohio State (Cardinals) 76. Chris Chandler, Washington (Colts) 6th Round 149. Don McPherson, Syracuse (Eagles) 151. Scott Secules, Virginia (Cowboys) 159. Stan Humphries, NE Louisiana (Redskins) 7th Round 175. Mike Perez, San Jose State (Giants) 180. Kerwin Bell, Florida (Dolphins) 10th Round 256. Bud Keyes, Wisconsin (Packers) 274. Todd Santos, San Diego State (Saints) 11th Round 281. Danny McCoin, Cincinnati (Lions) 282. Danny McManus, Florida State (Chiefs) 283. David Weber, Carroll College (Raiders) 12th Round 328. Steve Slayden, Duke (Browns) So only two quarterbacks in Chandler and Humphries that had success in the NFL. Danny McManus had success in the CFL and is still limping around there. Tupa actually would be 3rd in NFL passing attempts of that list as he was the Cardinals regular starter in 1991 and didn't convert to punter until 1994 with the Browns (he played both positions at Ohio State). Guess who was one of Tupa's back up in 1991? Chris Chandler.
  23. I found this photo of Vermeil a little while back from 1975. He's always been crying. I think he cries after he finishes a box of cereal. Oh the memories of Count Chocula.
