  4. Not sure if anyone cares but I think we've had threads for the tournament/World Series before. The field is 64 teams that is divided into 16 regionals. The format for the Regionals is double elimination and the winners of the Regionals advance to the Super Regionals, which are best-of-three. The eight winners of the Super Regionals advance to Omaha for the College World Series. Two-time defending champion Oregon State failed to make the field. Top Eight Overall Seeds 1. Miami 2. North Carolina 3. Arizona State 4. Florida State 5. Cal State Fullerton 6. Rice 7. LSU 8. Georgia As for watching any of the regionals, only coverage is on ESPNU (which I don't have) who will show the Coral Gables and Fullerton regions. Tournament starts on Friday. 6. The owners voted to terminate the current CBA after 2011. Probably looking at an uncapped year in 2010 and maybe a lockout in 2011 if all hell breaks loose.

  8. Glad people seemed to enjoy. It's a shame this was only limited offer to have a free league as $25 a team is way too much, especially when you can't even win any money back. But if they ever do another free offer for a different season I'll definitely create another league for the board.
  9. It's like white players have names like Lenny, whereas black players have names like Carl.
  10. I didn't have any ideas for a "witty" subtitle this week anyways. First interleague games of the year are this weekend. 11. Edited for accuracy. The days of the NCAA banning major programs from postseason play in basketball or football are long over.
  12. Playoffs are set. Montreal Royals vs. Hillsdale Daisies Ohio Hellraisers vs. Anchorage Ice Hoes Hellraisers won the Wild Card by tiebreak over Mattitude. Awards MVP Hubie Brooks, Hellraisers Cy Young Tom Henke, Royals Gold Gloves P: Bert Blyleven, Clippers C: Lance Parrish, Royals 1B: Don Mattingly, Bibles 2B: Ryne Sandberg, Ice Hoes 3B: Mike Schmidt, Ice Hoes SS: Tony Fernandez, Royals OF: Rickey Henderson, Oaks; Kirby Puckett, Clippers; Dale Murphy, Royals And biggest underachiever goes to my team! I finished eight games under my pythagorean as a league worst 23-33 in one run games did me in.
  13. Future Odd Scheduling of the Day: Notre Dame will play Arizona State in 2013.....in Dallas. Um, k.
  14. They probably couldn't put in the programming for the simulation to take into account an extra regular season game. And for those with playoff aspirations (not me), the playoffs will be simulated two games at a time. I was kinda hoping it'd be one game a day to build up some drama but at least they won't be simulating each series in one day. Semis are best of five and finals are best of seven.
  15. I guess there are some sort of controversial anti-meth ads in Montana, so EDSBS and another blog spoofed them with college football versions of the ads and they are so wrong, yet so funny. Here's the link for all of them and I'll just post a sample of one of them. The possibilities for these are endless.

  19. He's been a regular announcer on college football for CSTV (now known as CBS College Sports) for a few years and even done a couple of their Conference USA games.
  20. EDSBS had recently had a poll on how Ryan Perriloux would finish the season and here were the results: Complaining about the weakness of his drink at the Baton Rouge Hollywood Casino's $5 blackjack table. (48%, 718 Votes) Hiding from the federales in a culvert outside of Oaxaca. (18%, 270 Votes) Running a black market arms/currency exchange in Equatorial Guinea. (12%, 178 Votes) Tossing his third pick of the game in the Independence Bowl. (11%, 160 Votes) Standing on the Rose Bowl fifty with a trophy and fists full of fake bills. (11%, 159 Votes) Well we can officially toss out the last two options now.
  21. In other thrilling bowl news the Cotton Bowl received approval to move next year's game to January 2nd which dwindles the number of January 1st bowl games next year to five. Joy.
  22. I caught the very end of the blog discussion to see Bissinger and Costas gang up on Will Leitch, to no surprise. Then I saw that Joe Buck was going to be in the next segment and had to tune out. What the hell was Braylon Edwards doing there?
  23. I honestly had never heard this before and it's fucking hilarious.
  24. Wrong thread.
  25. Frank Thomas hit his first triple since 2002 and only his 2nd since 1998 tonight. I missed it live so I'll have to wait for the highlight but I'm guessing it had to be a horribly misplayed ball for this to happen or maybe all three Angel outfielders ran into each other.
