  1. Bill Watts had a chance to do some good work on this show and failed. Steiners vs. Doc/Gordy was just as hot as Sting/Vader at the time. Their tag title match at Beach Blast '92 was actually the show's main event. I know the reason they did the tournament match between them on the Clash of the Champions was because they had it on Monday night and wanted to steal WWF viewers, but it made the PPV suffer. I'll never get why they did the WCW tag title switch at a house show either. They could have had Doc & Gordy bait the Steiners into making their first round match for the WCW Tag titles and have Watts come out and yell "OH YEAH LET'S HOOK EM UP". The live crowd would have benefitted from their first match being the annihilation of the Steiners, which would have gotten them behind Rhodes & Windham a lot more than they were. I also don't like how they killed the town by having Sting get murdered by Vader THEN have Doc & Gordy reign supreme.
  2. Another made-up name. What's the point? I don't even know how WWE came up with Curt Hawkins and Zach Ryder since that's not even their real names. The story was that Vince was pissed off when he found out they lied about being legit brothers. With the unexplainable exception of Undertaker & Kane, Vince hates marketing people as related when they aren't (which is why Edge & Christian were never referred to as brothers post-brand extension). So, he made them come up with new names for themselves. "Curt Hawkins" and "Zach Ryder" are what they came up with.
  3. I'm still amazed at how perfect Mayweather was for pro wrestling. They brought him in to be a face, but was such a dynamic jackass, it was impossible to not hate him. And since he was Floyd Mayweather, Stephanie and her booking goons weren't allowed to ruin him. He was just as much a shocking fit as Kevin Federline was, except that Mayweather can actually work a match. I expected Mayweather vs. Big Show to be a total disaster, but it was a very good job by both.
  4. Amazing shape? I thought Piper was still pretty chubby.
  5. Hardy's not going anywhere close to the PPV main events ever again. One more drug failure and he's fired. No way WWE is risking that.
  6. Mickie used to finger herself on camera for money. She's not above dumping someone for a better position in the company.
  7. Damn those two guys sold that kick awesome.
  8. Might want to clarify since there were two Chamber matches at No Way Out 2008.
  9. WrestleMania 2000 had zero singles matches.
  10. Jesus. Vince will die before he ever unearths that match. The finish of the match was shown on the April 28, 2000 edition of ECW on TNN. Paul Heyman was not allowed to show the entire match and no footage of Tazz was to appear on the ECW Cyberslam 2000 home video.
  11. WWE.Com just put up a pretty entertaining piece called the Top 25 Most Annoying Gimmicks. The smart writing leads me to believe this is a Joey Styles project.
  12. Both Sting and Gene Okerlund mentioned the hummer color when Luger showed him the pictures. Luger defended it saying, "How do you know he doesn't have a white one?"
  13. Ahh ok, that makes sense. I remember reading about specific requirements the company was looking for, but never heard that it was in exact relation to Vince's height/size particularly. I do remember some sort of edict Vince sent down to Laurinaitis to not sign anyone below a certain stature, but I'd never heard the "smaller than Vince" thing.
  14. Guessed I missed it those past zillion times.... I guess I did too. I've never heard of that rule either.
  15. Whoa, whoa, whoa. What is this Taz orgasm story? I've never heard of this.
  16. Unless the injury wasn't as serious as first thought.
  17. Cena doesn't look like a monster to me. He's muscled out, yes, but he's not huge nor does he look like a small guy with muscles about to bust through his skin like Guerrero and Benoit. I'd be shocked if he was on steroids. He's been a gym freak since high school, but unlike Benoit and Guerrero, has looked like that since high school.
  18. Everytime I think how WCW at the end couldn't have been that bad, I watch the Flair/Russo cage match that I was almost suckered into attending live. Then I remember it was that bad.
  19. Jim Ross swore up and down on his WWF.Com Ross Report that the "Radicals" name wasn't permanent for Benoit, Malenko, Guerrero, and Saturn. Even after this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CcJnTC6_3E
  20. There is an unconfirmed, strictly-rumored report that Regal tested positive for some sort of female hormone pills used to even out the effects of jamming yourself with steroids. It was the same stuff John Morrison got busted for during the Signature Pharmacy suspensions.
  21. Jim Ross has commented on Regal's suspension at his website:
  22. Didn't the USA people want Undertaker back on Raw? Makes sense.
  23. I seem to recall WWE changing it up because it wrecked the 2006 Great American Bash PPV. Didn't they change it to where the first violation doesn't involve being removed from TV, but being suspended from house shows and not getting paid for TV? I guess they changed that since Kennedy was off TV for 30 days for his first offense, and if they weren't going to mutate that rule for that McMahon's son storyline, they won't ever.
  24. But they have done this before. Remember when they held the World Title up after the HHH/Edge/Benoit three-way where Edge and Benoit pinned each other only to have HHH win the belt back in the Elimination Chamber? This is just loyalty service to Undertaker to pad his title reigns.
  25. Well Regal's the first bust since the change where people had to urinate in directly front of testing representatives. Maybe he was cheating the system before.
