Truth of the matter is, the midcard is where he belongs. I feel sorry for Benoit, because he deserves the title, but there is no way he is getting it, what with Brock only having it for a month.... I justhope he gets it at some point. Off to buy dinner before concluding the rest of my work shift

I'm fairly sure most of our posters are in the, say, 15-30 range, I think at 34, I'm one of the oldest.

that is hilarious. That is hilarious *and* awesome.... to pull that move off against Dawn Marie of all people... the only way that she would make that more impressive is if she did it against a worse worker, like Sable.

Another good squash happened today... I was playing my CAW in the storyline and I squashed Lance Storm, who was on the stick talking crap about how my character wasn;t special. Clothesline, Osaka Street Cutter, HIGH Shooting Star Press, 1-2-3. Took all of about 20 seconds.

QUOTE Sure he has 5,000 years of experience, that in itself makes him a bigger target. Methos was always very good at hiding, though. How long did he hide out amidst the Watchers themselves, working on his own chronicle to make sure he would never be found? That was something that I never understood. Just how was Methos able to hide his aura from other Immortals? I must have missed an episode where it was explained.. either that or I don;t remember. QUOTE I have no doubt that Peter Wingfield would have pulled it off as an actor, but I don't think he has the martial arts/swordsmanship skill that Adrian Paul had, and that would have dragged the show down.... He's a very accomplished actor, and I think he would have done an excellent job if given a chance to cut his teeth on a starring role with Methos. The martial arts and swordsmanship wouldn't be an issue. Wingfield wouldn't need to be a lifelong devotee like Paul; a summer crash course in karate and swordplay would probably satsify everything he had to do for the show. Matt Damon learned his martial arts for The Bourne Identity in six weeks, but you can't tell that just by watching him. Ugh, Matt Damon.... you have a point but don;t get me started on the Matt Damon/Ben Affleck Brotherhood of Below Average Actors... QUOTE While we're on the subject, was anyone happy with Endgame? Eh. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't call it a great movie. It did what it needed to do, and it was pretty entertaining along the way. The script was lacking noticably in several areas, but maybe they'll get another movie with Duncan to do it better. It played out like a 90 minute TV episode, which was good and bad. I do hope that they do another one, though.

I think a spinoff series around Methos would have by turns been fascinating and terrible. Fascinating because yes, Methos is 5,000 years old and has been through countless events in history, and some of the people he would have met or known would have been fascinating to recap and see how it affects his life in the present day. Terrible because it would have (in my opinion) destroyed the aura of wisdom and mystery (albeit wrapped up in a rather cynical package) that surrounded Methos. I have no doubt that Peter Wingfield would have pulled it off as an actor, but I don't think he has the martial arts/swordsmanship skill that Adrian Paul had, and that would have dragged the show down.... not to mention as many Immortals that came looking for McLeod's head, how many would have come for Methos? You could multiply that by an order of magnitude. Sure he has 5,000 years of experience, that in itself makes him a bigger target. I'm truly conflicted about the possibilities of such a show... I guess it all comes down to the quality of the the scripts.... While we're on the subject, was anyone happy with Endgame? I thought it was pretty damn good, and I can watch Bruce Payne all day as an evil Immortal.

considering that I had IMMENSE fun playing Rogue Leader demo at kmart months ago, as is the ONLY reason I would buy a GC.... well, now I have two reasons. Wow.

I can't pinpoint a favorite episode, but I loved the Dark Quickening storyline, even if it did result in Richie's death. I liked Amanda's infrequent visits into and out of Duncan's life... Its a shame that Adrian Paul's injuries were such a factor in stopping the series... as long as they had solid writing, that show could have lasted to the present day. As for Highlander: The Raven.... While Elizabeth Gracen was good at playing Amanda, that abortion of a spinoff series was proof positive that Adrian Paul was the best for Highlander, right there with Lambert, who passed the torch in the pilot. just as a closing note, some women do NOT look good as blondes; Elizabeth Gracen is one of those women.

That was the TRUE rise of HHH's "so-called" politcal power backstage, when he had Foley, Rock, Austin, and Angle (whom I will refer to as the Big Four) put him over to start this whole heel run. God only knows a lot of people wanted HHH to get his ass handed to him on a silver platter during his run with Foley, because everything that was done was to establish HHH as a "Cerebral Assassin", who will do anything to win. Now everything comes full circle, and HHH is in the position of putting over those such as Jericho, Booker, Kane, and RVD (the latest Big Four), and they get buried. While it is not his fault totally, as the writers (Re: Stephanie) keep him where he is, he's not doing the right thing either by continuing the cycle. Every week that this goes by, its just more and more indications that the E is sinking fast. On another note: Rudo, just what the HELL is up with your banner?? it's more than a little disturbing.

Good point, Yuna. While she isn't going to win Miss America anytime soon, Nidia is not bad to look at, and as long as she doesn;t let herself go, I think she looks fine the way she is.... I think that she isn't long and lean like say, Torrie or Stacy, plays better for her "trailer-park trash slutty girlfriend" angle that they have her in. And yes, Knoble deserve better than what he is getting, though i think his CW title reign was a touch too long. Their skits we pretty funny for the most part, with Nidia being this nymphette and Knoble barely able to control/satisfy her.

T-Mac and Kobe are almost completely evenly matched. I had kept an eye on T-Mac back when he was up in Toronto, and when he came down to play my Magic, he would *destroy* Penny Hardaway, back when Penny was considered one of the best guards in the league. Penny was a player that T-Mac idolized, and the Raptors made a HUGE mistake in letting him go, thinking that Vince Carter was the solution to all of their problems. Kobe deserves all of the hype he gets after playing as well as he did in Game 1. having the most dominant player in the game at the 5 position does help a lot, though. The simple fact that Kobe has Shaq to take some pressure off makes T-Mac a better player in my book, but only by a slight margin. They tend to go at each other a lot when the Lakers and Magic play, and it almost always comes out roughly even in points, though T-Mac is a better rebounder and racks up more assists than Kobe does. Defensively, Kobe has gotten better every season, and is very close to T-Mac in that regard, but I still think T-Mac is slightly better. In the end, I think that if Kobe stopped listening to everyone proclaiming him the next Michael Jordan (and more to the point stopped *acting* as if he was), he could actually surpass Jordan is he stays healthy and focused. He's going to need to, because The World's Biggest 12-Year-Old (my pet name for Shaq) is not going stay in the league very much longer, *perhaps* another 2-3 years. So is Kobe overhyped? No. Is he better than T-Mac? its getting too close to call.

so I'll unbreak it. Eliza Dushku, by far.

Ye gods, this is brutal. All I can say is that for those of you who fall from grace, I just hope you're judged a little less harshly by your peers. I will be the FIRST to acknowledge Jeff's growing disinterest and dercreasing wrestling skills, though I was not surprised to hear about his reported problems with drugs. As a fan, you know when someone is just going through the motions rather than putting everything they have into it, giving 100% or whatever cliche you want to use. But hell, Jeff *did* give the fans some of the best performances that he had to give. Remember him for that, instead of just piling on the guy. To do what these guys and ladies do night in and night out, 300 days a year, unless you have the burning desire to stay in it and do it all, you will burn out at some point. Laying the current consensus about issues with the E aside, to me its always a shame to see someone who did have a lot of potential (along with his brother) just crash and burn, no pun intended. Matt had the fire, Jeff didn't. The results of that speak for themselves. if you didn't like Jeff from day one, that's fine. but what legacy he did leave doesn;t deserve eveyone to piss on it for the simple reason that he was a teeny-bopper's favorite.. Ricky Morton was cut from the same cloth basically, and aside from his name being used as a smarks cliche, no one craps on him. All I am saying is, like him or not, respect what he has done.

Only titles that you have mentioned that actually do this and aren't resulting of a DQ (in most cases) are as followed: WWE Tag Team (SD) Crusierweight* *Yes, I know one of the championships was one that no one cares to highly about. But it really is one of the few that do play out to your rules. For the most part, the Smackdown show is fairly consistent in airing title defenses... it was pretty much exempt from the point I was making, and I should have said so. Smackdown has its faults but at least they are less glaring than The Kliq Show.
-
The problem is that all of the titles have been devalued. I understood the reasoning why some titles had to be removed, but I think they went too far. A midcard title HAS to be in the mix, if only to bring some midcarders out into the spotlight.... remove the above mentioned along with Hurricane (because he is so over right now) from the equation, though. all of the titles should be defended constantly on TV as well as PPVs, either every week or on a rotating basis. Putting them out there and actually having competition for them would be the only way to legitimize them now, because at the moment they are a joke.

And as I have said before, the only one to pull WWE out of this nosedive is one Vincent Kennedy McMahon Jr. I think he has noticed that his company is not making as much money as it was two ot three years ago (hence the closing of the World, which was not a great idea to start with, but digress). But is so locked into his own method of doing things that he cannot break out of the cycle. There are approximately what, five to eight wrestlers that are certified (by the fans and the smarks alike) main event status, yet why is it that they get buried shortly after doing an angle/storyline with HHH? Hypothetical question, we all know the answer to that one. But again, as long as he is making even minimal profits, Vince will not change things until its too late.

The ultimate squash happened saturday against a friend of mine.... he's a button smasher as until today he didn;t even have his own copy of SYM, but he made a skinny little goth wrestler named Darkchilde and gave him Tajiri's moveset... anyway, he got me in about five cross-armbreakers after knocking me down... he didn't even have half his smackdown meter full.... I go for a finisher and he countered out of it and got in a sixth, and my CAW tapped out! Dammit, I was PISSED....

The hell are you talking about? Steiner is in a HUGE feud with the tough enough loser kid now. Things are looking good Steiner was in a fued with Triple H. Huge difference. I do agree with JDM--fuck Goldberg. He's never going to be happy unless he's sitting on his ass collecting a paycheck again. Either that or on another manufactured win streak, or (dare I say it) doing what HHH is doing at the moment; keeping 85-90% of the roster down and staying on top.
-
Also an issue is that a lot of people (not just smarks either) are tired of him. Tired of his act, tired of his crappy wrestling, just plain tired. Its like when Bubba Ray Dudley was being "pushed" to be a challenger to HHH, he said in a semi-shoot; "This isn't the HHH Show!" As long as Vince still decides to keep HHH where he is (and make no mistake he is the ONLY person in the company who can knock HHH off his perch right about now, aside from possibly Stephanie and *perhaps* Shane in some way), the ratings, viewership and show attendance will continue to drop. The issue with HHH's lobbying and resfuals to put guys over is by far not the only major issue the E needs to correct, but in my eyes it is the biggest one.
