You're forgetting about essential medical care like physical exams to participate in high school sports. -

Aw, fuck. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26949764/ -
I'm glad to see this important bill passed today because of John McCain suspending his campaign, personally flying to Washington, and getting this bill passed like he... ...wait, WHAT? http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/14088.html So, to recap, McCain took credit for the bail-out plan (that he had nothing to do with) and bragged about how he'd put together a winning coalition to get it passed. THEN IT DIDN'T PASS! And the Dow dropped 777 points! Now his campaign is saying its the Democrats fault it didn't pass, even though mostly Republicans voted against it. John McCain may be the most full of shit candidate for any American political office, ever. If I were still a Republican, I'd be fucking embarrassed to support this shithead. Seriously. Were I a Republican, I'd vote for Barr, and then hope a real candidate runs in 2012. What a fucking joke John McCain has become.

Whatever IQ enhancing drug Marvin was taking when he posted this has obviously worn off. That was posted before I learned off all the extra baggage that was added to the bill. They didnt need to bail out people and their pensions that won't be able to pay out in a couple years. Pensions have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO with the current problem. Yes, they will be a problem, but this bill isn't the time to decide "Oh, people won't have pensions in a few years, lets go help them out to while we're dealing with the whole economic meltdown". The pension money somewhere. It was invested. So this has everything to do with pensions. Please go back and read what you originally wrote and maybe you can talk some sense into yourself. edit: Mystery solved. I was watching Glenn Beck just now, and guess who else is suddenly against the bail-out. edit 2, electric boogaloo: I was watching Larry King, and Suzie Orman looked like she was mad enough to pnch somebody because this didn't pass. -

Ideology, or expedience? This bail-out was very unpopular. I'd say there's a good chance Congress will reconvene shortly after the election and pass the bill, when Congressmen's jobs aren't at stake. -

But can you think of a better way for a group of Republican Congressmen way to get re-elected than to seperate themselves from an unpopular president? -
Is it just me, or does the trailer make this movie look like just an extended Will Ferrell skit?

Women should gain somewhere between 20 and 30 pounds because that means she's intaking sufficient calories to allow the baby to grow in a healthy manner. Also mother's will need the extra calories to burn while the baby is nursing. Plus, that woman is a tiny little twig to begin with.

Come on, people! This is one of the best shows on TV!

Its been over a decade, and I still find Darrell Hammond as Bill Clinton hillarious. This Sarah Palin skit didn't seem as funny as the real thing they were parodying. It felt more like a recreation. It was nice to get to look at Anna Faris. She's so adorable. I can't believe she's over 30.

The main difference though is that they were fighting on behalf of the Marxist government against rebels than were getting the help of the U.S. and other sympathetic nations. We were fighting against the unrecognized government of Afghanistan already in place. We weren't trying to do the same thing the Soviets were trying to do, so its not really a fair comparison.

Tough works better than nice, but there's a difference between being tough and being tacky. Consistently attacking someone for his voting record and public statements is being tough. Telling someone he's so old he knew the founding fathers is tacky. Good video...

My hope is that Obama can continue to attract independent and first-time voters by taking the high-road. I could be wrong, but that's what I think works best for him (yes, I know he doesn't always stick to it). In other news... This is probably perfectly legal, but someone calling themselves a reformer recieved gifts from merchants doing business with Wasilla, Alaska, while she was mayor... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080928/ap_on_el_pr/palin_ethics No mention if a little dog named "Checkers" was one of the gifts. So, does this make her a crook? Probably not. But it doesn't make her the reformer she claims to be either, one of her main selling points as candidate for VP.

Factcheck.org has an article up about the truthfulness of statements made during the debate. http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/fa..._1.html?cnn=yes Some of my favorites:

Last night wasn't for us, it was for people still trying to make up their minds that haven't paid attention until now. I think what they saw last night were two men who both have a deep understanding of the issues, but one was a little more interested in talking about what he wanted to do as president, and the other was more interested in making the other look bad. And if McCain and Obama agree on stuff, I don't see that as bad. McCain isn't wrong about everything in my opinion, and Obama isn't some far left revolutionary with radically different views than Americans are used to. I'm kind of bemused by the "regular people" the media are talking to who are mad the candidates didn't talk more about the economy when the debate was supposed to be about foriegn policy. One thing no one else has mentioned, as far as I know, was that McCain tried to have it both ways on the experience issue last night. He has continually talked about his superior amount of experience, but when Obama called him on it by pointing out how much he has experience he has at being wrong on Iraq, he ran away from his own record by saying the next president isn't going to have to decide on invading Iraq, but how to get out of it. I don't think running on your experience, then saying the important bad decisions you made a few years ago shouldn't matter because you won't have to make that decision again, is a particularly credible thing to say.

The problem with this is that Palin is self-destructing on her own without Obama needing to pour salt on the wounds. Plus, both guys picked running mates who typify qualities that they have criticized the other for, as Biden has been in Congress a full decade longer than McCain. Why draw attention to that by calling him out on Palin? Whether its politically expedient or not, that's just a tacky thing to say.

Wow....the passing of a legend. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is one of my favorite movies. The list of awesome films he was a part of is enough to make an Hollywood actor jealous. And he always managed to be a nice guy, no matter how successful he became. I'm also a regular purchaser of his delicious spaghetti sauces, which I highly recommend.

Something that really annoys me...John McCain's obsession with Iran's President Ahmadinejad has to stop. Despite the title of "president," Ahmadinejad is not the leader of Iran. The leader of Iran is the current Ayatollah, not the president. The president is in charge of appointing and oversee the executive branch bureacracy, and has no actual foreign policy or military responsibilities. The Ayatollah has the final say in all decisions, and is charge of foreign and nuclear policy, and out-ranks everyone else in the country. *sigh*
