  1. Good call. One of the worst conversions ever.
  2. As opposed to freaking Las Vegas? Hamilton makes way more sense than Vegas.
  3. Hopefully Phillips is allowed to forget that play over time, and not become another Steve Smith. I can't believe Volchenkov tipped that last one past his own goalie, either. At any other point in the playoffs, he blocks that shot. He's gotten way off his game in the finals.
  4. Another round of expansion will kill the league. I can't imagine even Bettman making such a colossal blunder.
  5. They don't have it tonight. Emery doesn't look sharp at all, and the skaters look as out of sync as they have all series, with the exception of Game 3.
  6. Try Olympic Garden.
  7. QFT Imperial Palace, Excalibur and the Tropicana all have pretty decent rooms for reasonable rates. Anything north of Spring Mountain Rd. does as well, but that area's not as nice and farther from all the good spots on the Strip.
  8. Maybe, but I'm pretty sure Game 7 > any other game. Game 7 against Arizona WAS pretty clutch, I'll give him that. He should have won that game.
  9. Game 3 in 2003 is negated by the fact that he gave up 4 runs in 3+ innings in Game 7*. And while winning the final game of the World Series is surely impressive, the fact that the Yankees were up 3-0 already doesn't exactly make it the biggest of big moments. *Hey, I need to add that one to my original post.
  10. I'm trying to think of when Clemens came up big when it mattered. Was it when he asked out of Game 6 against the Mets because of a blister? When he swore at the umpire in the 1990 ALCS and got tossed? When he got destroyed by Pedro in the 1999 ALCS? When he threw the bat at Piazza? When he got rocked against the Red Sox in Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS and didn't even make it out of the fourth inning? When he gave up three runs in the first inning in his only start against the Marlins in 2003? When he pulled his hammy and only pitched two innings against the White Sox in the 2005 Series?
  11. Don't play blackjack at any table that only pays 6-5 for a blackjack. That's become way too prevalent in Vegas.
  12. That was one of the worst trades ever. Yashin for Chara and Spezza was so lopsided, even without figuring in the $90M deal.
  13. I've boycotted ABC Entertainment for the past five years after they cancelled Sports Night and The Job in consecutive seasons.
  14. Yeah, that was the worst I've seen Doc pitch since his rookie year. The offence sure picked a good time to wake up, though.
  15. The last arcade here closed a couple of years ago. I was pissed, considering it was the only place I'd seen in years that had a working Terminator 2 pinball machine. I remember when I was 10, the arcade was giving out free games for every A on your report card. I must have spent 2 solid hours playing High Speed. My favourite moment, though, had to be being the first NBA Jam grand champion on the machine in my university game room.
  16. More bad news for the NHL...Game 3 drew a 1.1 rating for NBC. That set a record as being the lowest-rated prime time program in the history of NBC. Yes, worse than the XFL. And that was a fantastic game -- it's not like it was a snoozer. It's sad how far hockey has fallen from the American public consciousness.
  17. Updated Standings - June 5, 2007 150 - King Kamala Classic 140 - Toshiaki Koala 90 - Cuban Linx, dh86, MillenniumMan831, vivalaultra 50 - Gosunkugi, Hawk 34, Marvinisalunatic, Sideburnious, Timmy8271, Will Scarlet 30 - treble, UndertakerHart, v.2, Vampiro69
  18. Really? Wow. I remember watching him with the Expos as a kid. He was the "other guy" in the OF alongside Raines and Dawson.
  19. This made me chuckle, remembering Brett Hull last night saying face shields should be outlawed except in the event of eye injuries, and he and Don Cherry agreeing that fighting needs to go up to draw the American audience in more.
  20. Oh, that sucked. I was certain the Sens would have a lot more than one good period in them tonight. Well, Edmonton forced a Game 7 last year after going down 3-1. No reason Ottawa can't do the same.
  21. I'm expecting a fight sometime in this game. Anaheim looked like they were ready to kick some ass at the end of the period.
  22. OK, you're not allowed to post again.
  23. True, but I thought she did a really good job. I actually saw Lyndon in the parking lot on Saturday, meeting fans. In full uniform. On a 25-degree day.
  24. That might be relevant if it was Neil that got elbowed in the head. Seriously, I don't get the point of this. Fuck, typing with a broken finger is hard.
  25. I could only get 5. Anyone who beat Ken Jennings (who got 28) has spent way too much time watching movies.
